  1. Actually I believe the Gibson Motorsport R32 GTR did 299kph down conrod during an august 1991 test day. They also did 2:13.82 lap during 1992 bathurst with boost restricted and weight penalties required by CAMS to slow them down. Given 18 years development and better quality of slicks used today I think a race prepped R34 GTR would smash a V8 Supercar. Of course it cant comply with the same rules the v8's have to so it will always be hard to do a fair comparison.
  2. Did R34 standard and v-spec have ceramic exhaust wheels? Was it only the N1 that had steel wheels? I ask becuase I would like to upgrade to steel wheel turbos in my R32 and I was under the impression all R34's had steel exhaust wheels.
  3. Is the transfer in the late 32's an r33 style also? i.e. is it not safe to run them in 2wd (fuse out) mode?
  4. Get a GTR. They drive like nothing else, lots of power, handle extremely well and driving will no longer be a chore but a pleasure. Just make sure you get a well maintained one that at least looks fairly stock (for the cops) and isnt obnoxiously loud. You should be prepared to spend some money if things go wrong, especially if you can't do the work yourself, and more frequent servicing than for a commo or similar. I guess it depends how many kms youre gunna do as well - might not be that practicle if you do mega kms. But the same goes for any car that is any fun...
  5. Would be interesting to see if the pump that was remove had anything wrong with it? If not it was probably an airlock problem to begin with - so maybe keep the old parts for spares.
  6. Even if he had bought it from a dealer it would be too old to attract any warranty. He has no hope of getting anything out of you.
  7. I just wrote off our diahatsu Terrios. Done 200k and never had a single problem with it. We gave it a very hard life, bush bashing, be lucky if we changed the oil every 40k - Even towed a caravan 2000 kilometers. It was unkillable (well almost)
  8. Thanks for your replies. I think personal imports here dont require as much compliance work to be registered as low volume or raws imports. Do you think this would be an issue? i.e im not sure if uprated side intrusion bars ect. had to be fitted when it was complied. My car has only 3" exhaust, boost & remapped ECU (i dont know how this would affect any emissions testing) and R33 GTR wheels.
  9. Thanks, my bad i saw after i posted it that I did it in the wrong section. Bonvoyage!! ; )
  10. Hi I was wondering if anyone knows if you can change the state of registration of a personal import. My GTR was registered as a personal import in S.A. in 1999 and now we are moving to N.S.W. Are the import laws the same there in regard to personal imports?
  11. Hi I'm a new member. Although I've had my GTR for about 4 years I only recently got the net at home. My car is (obviously) an 89 Skyline GTR in gunmetal grey with the only mods being R33 GTR wheels, 3'' exhaust & boost & ECU remapped.
