  1. Hi everyone, our main event "the million dollar driver challenge" is now sold out! Congratulations to all those who have entered and good luck! we still do have places in the 1 day track day events. in response to the above questions from a previous post: we currently have a small team of 3 guys preparing the vehicles out of a warehouse in Alexandria in Sydney, this will grow to a team of 6 early in the new year. 2 of the guys are from Japan and 1 is from the USA, all 3 have motorsport experience with 2 of them having previously worked for a satellite Hyundai rally team in the US and the other was chief mechanic on my MX5 Racecar when I raced in the Mazdaspeed mx5 category in the US in 2006. it has always been our intention to "unveil the cars" as soon as we have atleast 5 complete and ready to show - this is planned for the end of January at our workshop and all entrants as well as some motorsport press will be invited along for this. in terms of staffing at the event itself, we will have somewhere in the region of 100 staff at the event this is not counting the catering staff, marshalls and safety crew which are being organised through Wakefield Park. the roll cages are arriving in kit form from a US supplier of ours and are fia approved cages. in the coming days we will finalise the entry list (as we are still waiting on deposits from some people) and I will be more than happy to email it to anyone who is interested - just email Lindy at [email protected] , we will also post it on our website. Regards, Jason Sinai
  2. Hi all, apologies for the late response to your posts but due to personal family reasons we have been out of the office for the past few days. At the end of the day it is an event aimed squarely at amateur drivers so the line in the sand is that it is not open to anyone who has or still is competing at a national or international level. It is impossible to make everyone happy all the time unfortunately but we have done our upmost to make it fair for all. John, I will do my best to answer your other questions from an earlier post just as soon as I have a few minutes to do so as I am sending this post on the run from my mobile - back in the office Monday so probably then (my apologies too for being a bit "short" in my other response to you its been a tough week, family tragedies are never easy, Im sure you understand). Steve, I received your email too and have responded to it a little while ago. Have a great weekend everyone! Jason Sinai
  3. It is always amazes me how when it comes to things motorsport related that everybody knows somebody and everyone is an expert - so without getting excited let me set the record VERY straigt for you Bozman1 and others. When I spoke to you the other day and you asked me if Nick Senior had done me a good deal, I didnt say yes, in fact I didnt say anything at all. The reason for this is that yes, I did source the vehicles overseas as after speaking to a few local Australian Subaru dealers it quickly became clear that purchasing the vehicles here would not make the best economic sense. We also spoke to a few workshops about preparing and running the cars for us those that did get back to us wanted drug money and some of the more reputable ones, well, I am still waiting for them to get back to me, so we decided to go it alone on this front too. In terms of the C63, if you do indeed have something to do with Mercedes Benz you would know that currently there are atleast 6 cars sitting on showroom floors across the country for immediate delivery - we have one coming in February. Please feel free to contact Justine or David Keens at Unique cars to verify their involvement - we have a full back page advert in the current issue and another full page advert advertising the 1 day track days in the December issue due out early December. Please feel free to contact Robyn at Wakefield too and she can enlighten you on our booking with them too. On our website and all our advertising it states very clearly that we have no affiliation with Subaru Australia or Mercedes Benz Australia in any way, shape or form. Finally, if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me on my mobile 0410614330 at any time, I will be more than happy to take your calls. Jason Sinai Million Dollar Driver Challenge
  4. Hi all, The Million Dollar Driver Challenge main event is almost sold out - we have just 11 spots remaining to fill of the 300 we are allowing. We are making it a priority to fill all the remaining spots by this weekend! As a result we are offering a really good deal to those who are interested in competing in the event at a reduced rate - please email me for more details, it is less than what we posted on this site earlier on and those 10 of you who took up the earlier deal will be given this new deal too - so dont worry!!! This will be the best value motorsport you will ever get guys and girls. Fuel tv - part of the Fox organisation are also on board as a partner and will be producing a 1 hour program on the event which will be aired 2 weeks after the event, they will also be producing a 1/2 hour program dedicated to the 2 1 day track days which will air 1 month later. Lindy Tanner Event co ordinator Million Dollar Driver Challenge [email protected] Also, the 1 day track days are filling fast too guys: Monday - 52 paid and confirmed Tuesday - 27 paid and confirmed We are also doing a special deal for SAU members for these days - email for details.
  5. Hi The Friday shakedown is only open to people attending the weekend "challenge" event unfortunately. The Monday and Tuesday events do have alot of track time for entrants so there should be ample time to get used to the cars ie: 4 x 1/2 hour sessions throughout the day. Thanks, Lindy (on behalf of Jason) Event co ordinator Million Dollar Driver Challenge
  6. All the cars will be owned by "million dollar driver challenge" so we dont have to answer to anyone re: damage etc. All participants are not liable for any damage done to cars in any of the sessions, it is all part of motorsport and we have allowed for it. Having said that, drivers will be let out in 10 second increments so there shouldnt be any hassles and we will have the event fully marshalled too.
  7. Hi guys, the new sponsor is an oil company - I wish I could get them to fund a further 2 cars each day to give away but I dont think so!!! Yes, the entry fee is now $400 incl gst. The first group will be out on track at 8am for 1/2 an hour and then it will follow on - so you could make the last group and be there at 9.15ish for 9.30 if you wanted. You can choose which day you would like. You can pay by direct deposit sraight into our bank account - email me for the details. For these 1 day track days we do need the whole entry fee at the time of booking - as you can appreciate these 2 days are almost break even for us so we need to be sure we have them filled and that people turn up. You will get 2 sessions of 30 minutes behind the wheel in the morning and then another 2 sessions of 30 minutes behind the wheel in the afternoon - so 4 sessions of 30 minutes - excellent value. All the cars will be refuelled and tyres changed at the conclusion of each session and the cars will be rotated to keep it all fair. Hope that answers your questions guys but please feel free to contact me if you have anymore. We have had alot of interest from people reading this forum and would love to welcome you to the event Chris. Cheers, Jason
  8. Hi all, interest has been strong in the 1 day track days - thank you to all those who have already entered!! As we have this morning signed a new corporate sponsor for the event which will be named shortly we have decided to make the 1 day track days a little more affordable for all. Everything remains the same as in our previous announcement but the price per day is now $400 incl gst!!! Those who have already paid will recieve the refund directly back into their accounts. We have done this primarily to help those travelling from interstate with costs and make it incredible value for money for everybody involved. Please contact me on the details below to ensure you dont miss out. Thanks, Jason [email protected] 0410614330

The entry fee for the event remains the same so there is no extra charge for this day!! 6th and 7th April 2009 - MDDC "shoot out track event" announced: Due to massive interest we have booked the Monday 6th April 2009 and Tuesday 7th April 2009 for our proposed 1 day track day. 10. Thanks Duncan, although its being treated as information I still am going to become a site sponsor or advertise on the site, I think its the right thing to do. Thanks for the contacts..... Jason
  11. Hi everyone, Thanks for the feedback so far, I just want to stress that the weekend event "millon dollar driver challenge" is still our main event and where most of our efforts are going and with almost 180 confirmed entries already it is going to be a great event for all. We will over the weekend put together something for the Monday and possibly the Tuesday too as interest in the 1 day track days has been strong and well recieved, look out for an announcement on the forum and on our website early next week!!! How do we go about being a site sponsor of SAU? Cheers and thanks again, Jason Sinai Please note my email is now [email protected]
  12. Hi Ben, thanks for the good wishes! In terms of tyres we have decided to go with Bridgestone RE55S tyres for the gymkhana work and Bridgestone slicks for the track sessions, weather permitting of course. Nobody is judging the talent, speed etc, etc - its all against the clock. At a little over $13k to enter we know it is alot of money, which is why we decided to offer the 10 spots at $3500, and I am still taking calls and getting emails with regard to the offer. The long and the short of it is that it is impossible to please everybody all the time - we are working tirelessly to make this the best event that it can be for all concerned. Let me ask you and everyone else here this: As come Monday the 6th April 2009 we will hopefully have 1 or 2 WRXs still in reasonable condition, only driven on Sundays etc, etc would any of you be interested in a 1 day track day on the Monday or Tuesday limited to say 80 entries with a buy in of $660 incl gst where the days top time gets to take home 1 of the cars? As there will be no motorkhana part to this only timed laps everyone should get plenty of track time too....... Just a though, interested in yours and everyone elses thoughts on this. Thanks again, Jason

  15. Hi All, VERY EXCITING NEWS!! Million Dollar Driver Challenge Due to the massive amount of interest we are recieving in the MILLION DOLLAR DRIVER CHALLENGE event and the number of already confirmed entries (even before we have begun advertising properly) we have decided to subsidise 10 entries to the event - this announcement is going out across a number of car club forums so be quick!! Basically the first 10 people to email us their intent to enter will be able to do so at a hugely reduced rate - yet still be eligable for the Early entry prize of the Merc C63 AMG Sedan as well as the prize money. The deal is as follows: The full entry price will be $3500 incl GST!!!! Deposit of $1000 to be recieved by 31st October 2008 and balance of $2500 to be recieved by February 25th 2009. Once we recieve your email we will send the first 10 people the official registration form to fill out and send back to us with payment of the deposit, we will accept cheques or direct deposit payments ( we can furnish you with the account details ). The email address is [email protected] ( our official email account isnt up and running yet but will be on the 5th of November with our official website) Please feel free to call me on 0410 614 330 if you have any questions.
  16. Hi Jess, yes, we are planning on making the Million Dollar Driver Challenge an annual event - dependant on interest and entries in the event which at this stage without any advertising (which will begin on the 5th of November) has been extremely strong. As a result of the current strong interest and entries already recieved we are tomorrow having a meeting and are likely to add a new dimension to the event which will enable people to enter the event on a much more affordable level. I will make the announcement here on your forum first and it will be very exciting news for all!!!! We have listened to ALL the feedback and are committed to making the event a huge success and attainable for all people interested in entering. Look out for it guys and girls.................. Cheers, Jason Sinai Million Dollar Drivers Challenge 0410 614 330
  17. Hi Jess, it will be held at Wakefield Park NSW on 4th and 5th April 2009. I do agree with you though that motor sport always seems to be aimed at the rich but thats the nature of the sport unfortunatly, I struggled for years to get involved in the sport and know how frustrating it can be. How much is the Dutton entry fee? The beauty of our event is that it is an arrive and drive situation with everything included right down to the food for both days and atleast you have the opportunity to win something out of it!! As entries are filling quite well I am willing to talk to people who are interested in doing the event but cant come up with the full amount - today I will also make an announcement on this forum for your members who might want to get involved at a reduced rate as I do appreciate the input from you all and unlike other forums it has actually been constructive!! Cheers, Jason Sinai Million Dollar Driver Challenge 0410 614 330
  18. Thanks for the input guys - I really appreciate your views good and bad!! By halving the entry fee and accepting double the entries the already exhorbatant costs would skyrocket. For a start we would need to purchase double the cars to use etc, etc and although there are people out there who havent considered ALL the costs and think we are somehow going to pocket millions of dollars it just wont work. However, would some of you be interested if we released "say" 50 entries at half price to car club members - deposits to be recieved by November 10th or while spots at that figure remain? You will also still go in the draw for the Merc C63. I am interested to hear what you guys and girls think...........contrary to popular belief we arent greedy and just want to put on the best event we can for the participants which at this point stand at 103. 19. Hi All, Jason from the Million Dollar Driver Challenge here. Just letting you know that our official website www.milliondollardriverchallenge.com.au will be going live on the 3rd of November 2008 as well as our new email addressess [email protected] until then the hotmail address still applies, not very proffessional I know but we wanted to give you guys and girls who are car club members the heads up on our event before the advertising/pr machine swings in. A few things worth mentioning at this time: Unique Cars magazine is on board as an official partner, look out for our advert in the next issue due out November 5TH 2008. Revolution Racegear is on board as a partner and each entrant will be recieving a helmet, race boots, race gloves and a race suit as part of the entry fee. Tag Heuer is on board as a sponsor - EACH ENTRANT WILL BE RECIEVING A TAG HEUER F1 WATCH VALUED AT $1100 AS PART OF THE ENTRY TOO!! Finally, for all paid up car club members we are offering a $1000 discount on the entry fee if you enter and pay the $3500 deposit by December the 15th 2008. By doing this you also go into the draw for the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Sedan to be drawn at the conclusion of the event on the 5th April 2009. In terms of car numbers, we have ordered 30, yes 30 new MY 2009 Subaru WRX Hatchbacks for the event. If I can be of any help please feel free to call me on
