From what I understand and I am a mechanic ... When the catalytic converter light comes up on the dash it sends a signal to the ECU to tell it to retard timing and I think it may also increase fuel incase of a lean out ... (Limp mode) I have this same issue in my R32 GTS auto the cat light comes up on the dash and the car will run like total crap underpowered and bogs down etc... this is a failsafe to protect the engine ... are the majority of the guys on here still running stock management ?

hahahaha ... good luck with the Used regular spark plugs dude .... they only last , 60,000km at best in a good running motor These are just regular plugs and they retail for like $2.50 - $3 per plug so thats around $15- $18 for a set brand new ...

Basically if they can see the car generally looks well maintained they will normally let you go ... I think the police are mainly targeting shit boxes on our roads ... I have had 3 cars in at work all with rego repairs and they are all old bombed out peices of crap ... 1984 mazda 626 with a list as long as your arm (that i had to do a full rebuild on and the end result was a $2500 bill to the customer after everything was fixed to roadworthy status ) (should have got a newer car when we told him in the first place .... 1977 Datsun 180b that should not ever be aloud back on the road , No pads , no rear linings , ball joint had broken in the front left , all tyres showing metal canvas , rust throughout whole car , rear wheel cylinders pouring out fluid both sides and also needed a brake master cylinder ... the list kept going on ... There are so many shit boxes out there I don't see why people cant just spend $3000 in the first place and get themselves a half decent descent Roadworthy able car ... not hard to find a descent EF/EL style falcon/fairlane i see them going for $3000 at most used car dealers ...

UPDATE - : Wont be able to come along to this one , just realized that the date for this coincides with another car club cruise that I am attending ... which will end up being close to a 900 km cruise

I am after a part number or sizing for the diff pinion seal in my skyline ... Had it up on the hoist at work on friday and noticed that the diff pinion seal is weeping and spitting oil up around the diff in the rear end ... I want to fix this asap as the car has no oil leaks other than this and I like to keep the car well maintained ... The car is a 1992 Nissan Skyline HR32 GTS ( non turbo Automatic ) Went into CBC in fyshwick and they had no listing for a part number but said if I could get the sizing of the seal that they could match one up ... I will either buy a genuine seal or get one from CBC I just need either part number or the sizing of the seal

Quick update - The seats that I am wanting to install into the R32 are not autotecnica as first thought The model number of the seats I want to install is Saas - SP30003 - in red and black here is a pic of the blue and black version of the same seats ... Just trying to find some rails to suit an R32 at the moment not really looking forward to customising rails as im pretty sure there are some off the shelf rails for R32's that should fit these

Earlier this year ... I lost one of my close mates off another forum ... Please Don't be stupid on the roads ... Keep it to the race track , drag strip "Putting flowers on your mates coffin as it's being lowered into the ground is one of the hardest things a person will ever face in this life... and I do not wish this upon anyone to have to do , I still feel like a part of me is gone ... and it brings tears to my eyes writing this ... I was talking to my mate on the Sunday night about life and his plans with his car etc... then I get a call at work on Tuesday to tell me that my mate has passed away on monday morning .... it totally floored me ... I had to do a delivery for work about 30 mins drive from my work and I still dont remember how I drove there I have very little recolection of the drive , total shock... I was in total shock the whole time leading up to my mates funeral I couldn't beleive it was true at all ... kept thinking it was one big joke or a prank or something .... But at the cemetary as soon as I saw the wagon with my mates coffin in the back , the realisation sets in that you are never going to see the person ever again kills apart of you inside ... A part of me was lost that day ... and I cant stop thinking of all the good times ... like it is still all one bad dream .... Just think ... it Could be you or one of your mates or someone elses loved one in a coffin for one second of bliss with the right foot ... ask youself ... is it really worth it ?

Anyone know somewhere in canberra to get some aftermarket seats installed into my R32 ... I bought some Autotecnica 2008 edition seats (red and black) back christmas 2007 and haven't installed them in a car yet and want to put them in my R32 anyone know where to go to get them installed or can someone give me a hand installing them ?

spotted a yellow R33 with kit and black wheels at gungahlin market place bout an hour ago

I have this exact problem in my R32 ... has been doing it ever since I have had it ... seems when the light starts flashing it must send an signal to the ECU to limit performance ... My car goes into underpowered lamo mode when the light starts coming up so it's probably a safety (limp mode) in the ECU... I gather the sensor because it is placed after the cat converter it measures excessive heat ... in the exhaust ... If what you are saying is that you replaced the cat etc.. I would be looking at your tune it sounds as though it is running Lean when coming onto boost ... (Lean mix can cause excessive heat in the exhaust hence tripping the sensor)

just make sure you don't get water on the coil packs.... they don't like water at all but the skylines have a cover over the coils so you should be right ... as for the pod just don't directly hit it with water and you should be fine ...

That Audi R8 the bloke who own's it works next to my work at ACT stainless steel ... I think the bloke actually own's ACT stainless steel he also has a couple other awesome cars like a brand new Porsche 996 and the old school Porsche 996 He likes his cars and before he bought the Audi R8 he had an Audi TT which I gather he traded in for the R8 cos I haven't seen it since he bought the R8 As for the Awesome commodore I have seen that car in fyshwick a few times gotta laugh at it total joke on wheels ...
