Bump - anyone got one need one urgently
-
I have Coby extractors on my R32 They use oversized welds on the header plate and ya have to modify there welds by grinding them so that you can bolt them on properly ... Too much stuffing about DKNE ones are probably allot better and from the design I have seen also offer a bit better ground clearance as the Coby ones angle down at the front and ya tend to hit them on things gutters , driveways etc ...

Anyone got a spare R32 cat converter as I need to borrow one asap will pay cash or in alcohol
-
anyone got a spare R32 cat converter they can lend me for a day or two need to clear a defect urgently

$306 delivered but ya have to mod the extractors around where they weld the pipes onto the header plates as there welds interfere with the bolt holes to tighten them properly

I am a mechanic myself ... In all honesty it sounds like the engine is flooding ... when cold If ya have access to a gas analyzer this would be the best place to start ... to check what your readings are when cold ... even hookup a scanner and check for error codes but a couple things to check if ya dont have access to the above would be Check 02 sensor and coolant temp sensor by swapping them with replacements and seeing if it makes a difference ... You might even have the wrong heat range spark plugs for your engine fitted ... just a couple things to check

Suspension and braking First on the list (performance not looks)

Anyone gonna brave the cold and be out tomorrow night ?

Spotted EPIC FAIL .... My R32 skyline .... LOL ... LHR 17" Chrome rim buckled ever so slightly by potholes near airport and on majura road in 4 places around the rim and is heavily leaking air around the bead of the tyre and was running on rim ...consequently splitting the sidewall of the tyre all round ... 215/35 R17 Silver stone tyre @ $320 per tyre aswell ... not cheap and this is the 2nd time these tyres have failed on that set of wheels ... DODGEY chromes to the bin with them I say ... And the Epic fail part is I had to Drive home on a 4 stud bloody space saver ... never ever thought i'd ever have to use that tyre but it came in handy this time round ... Space saver FTW ... Will have to take my White 15x6" CSA wheels with polished lip in tomorrow and get a cheap set of 205/60 R15's fitted to get me by until I can afford some nice new 215/45R17 rubber on my good set of 17x7" SSA wheels around $250 per tyre for the tyres I want ... cant afford that for a little while so cheap 15's will do .... Hoorah for 4 stud and cheap ass tyres

My workmate Tim rebuilds manual and auto gearboxes and does repairs if it only requires repairs (cheaper than rebuilding the whole box depending on whats wrong with it ) ... Monaro Automatics / Rusden motors 22 Lyell st Fyshwick 02 62806263 Ring up for a quote ... ask for Tim directly as he may be able to do a weekend job at work cheaper than normal workshop rates

R33 Auto To Manual Is It Worth It?
hr32gts replied to LeCoq's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nothing wrong with the auto gearbox ... just modify the valve body ... Either a stage 2 shift kit or stage 3 full manual valve body upgrade Stage 2 shifts are pretty hard and alot quicker than a stock gearbox ... I have the stage 2 in mine and it has no trouble kicking the rear end out and im running a N/A R32 GTS RB20DE I am also running a Series 2 R33 GTS-T Auto gearbox in mine -

R200 R32 Gtst Diff Oil Capacity?
hr32gts replied to Stunn-R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Like all diffs ... fill them till they start pouring out then put the bung or bolt back in -
Ok to clear up alot of confusion you guys can take your cars to any liscenced ACT inspector when transferring rego as long as it is ACT to ACT (we do NSW rego at work) When going from another state to ACT rego is when you have to take it over the pits in Dickson for an inspection ... If the car is stock standard take it to Layton Automotive in pirrie st Fyshwick he does ACT rego's

Anyone going out tonight ?
-
Should start out when cold around 4 bar and drop down to 2 bar when at operating temp 4 bar = 58.015 psi COLD engine 2 bar = 29.007 psi at operating temp well thats the readings for the GTS but the GTS-T may be different with the turbo I am not entirely sure

Spotted ... White white R33 with GTS25T badge on rear green over grey r33 and a blue R33 GTR in fyshwick today ...

Quick heads up for people ... These extractors are not just a quick bolt on job ... where they weld the pipes onto the header plate the welds are too large to put the spacers on so that you can bolt them on properly ... you will either have to die grind the welds down so you can fit the shims or modify the spacers somehow ... I gave my spacers a grind but it isn't good enuf to clear the welds so I will have to pull the extractors off and die grind some of there welds away so that I can tension them up properly ... But I did notice a bloody huge difference in engine responsiveness and more power through the mid to high end range ... gets up to speed alot smoother and pickup is much better ... You guys will notice the difference in power that's for sure ...

2.5" should b good no use getting bigger im putting extractors n 2.5" on mjne was 97.8db b4 extractors just with 2.5" catback
-
Ahh wells ... shit happens I guess .. I am quite impatient at times and hate waiting for stuff ... when I want something I must have it like yesterday ... Gonna fit the extractors myself and get the exhaust shop to then cut the collector off and make up a 2.5" collector back to the standard Cat converter then to my 2.5" exhaust ... Hopefully I notice an improvement in low to mid range performance from what others have said it is noticeable so I will wait and see ... My mate at the exhaust shop will more than likely want to put a flex joint in where the collector normally is to help with flex of the engine so that the exhaust doesn't crack so I will see what he recommends as he has done a couple performance exhausts for me in the past and has always put a flex joint in this position... ... Hope your group buy goes well P.S - The extractors are nice and Orange
-
CLASS in fyshwick are pretty good at fixing these sorts of issues ... if you can get another lock they can usually make it fit your current key
-
Got my extractors at work today ... nice and orange lol Just a quick heads up to people ... I asked for a 2.5" oulet and they sent me a set of extractors with a 2" outlet ... dunno why or what I can do about it ? I thought they only came in 2.25 or 2.5 inch not 2 inch ... I measured up with vernier calipers and it came out to exactly 2 inch ... currently have a 2.5" exhaust system ... might have to get the exhaust shop to cut off the rear collector and weld on a 2.5" collector ... will have to see what the exhaust shop say if they can cut the collector off and make up a 2.5" outlet or not
