  1. 2) As for the oil issue. I decided to go with the tomei pump ( and sell both my N1 used pump and used oem with reimax gearset). I know the greddy extended pan is not a popular choice here, but i personally know 4 local GTRer who drove with that and no drama happened both in term of oil issue and cracked pan so I will go with the easiest solution. ( i.e: Racefab is approx. 1200-1400 and will be tight to meet my ETA , while the greddy is easy to get and cost 400$) and racefab is also 15mm 3) i went with 1000cc bosh ev14. better be safe. price is difference is quite minimal 4) I will plumb back.. exhaust setup seems okay. 5) Now for the ATTKD / Hi-octane / Autech air/oil separator, they will come up at 300$ and most people tell me i should still run this setup in parallel with a catch-can.. makes me wonder if these can are really worth the 300$ or they do very little.. ( keep in mind, i also have mine's cam baffle) thought on this !?
  2. me too.. all my muffler are bought.. but i could always substitute one muffler for a straight resonator, since they are smaller, they might restrict less. None the less, I'M pretty sure my 3.5/4 inch exhaust could cope with a 650-700whp build especially considering a 3 inch line has been seen a lot of time on 600whp build.

  4. what sump model you are running ? That's anothe thing I was wondering yesterday when shopping for sump, theres so many modded custom sump out there, who I am to decided which model/design is best for my application ? Obviously any of these fabricator wants to tell you their sump is best. Right now, I fogot to mention, I'm running a tomei baffle and a tomei oil restrictor with my N1+ crank collar and catchcan setup.
  5. Shimming the pressure relief was just an idea to have a higher pressurelike the N1 does but with the increased strength of the oem oil pump gear ( 77mm vs 81mm). See, I drove my well-tuned -5s built with occasional drag night ( -5s produce what ? 430-450kw right ?) and a N1 pump ( which some would say that its a POS pump worth-nothing) and after 20 000 kms, no oil problem at all. So that was my thinking behind my OEM pump + reimax gear. If I don't change the way I drive the car ( i.e: I don't beat the shit out of it, i set the rev limiter at 7.5k and barely ever launch it or if i do, its like a 4k dump), the extra 50kw or so power should be handled by the stronger reimax gear. I totally get what you means. I will surely been thinking about it. Honestly, fact that I'm going with an expensive EFR setup means that I'm not willing to '' cheap out'' on the built. But I don't want to make it more complicated either ( i.e: bad weld, sump lower get cracked, leaked hose, bad setup regarding the drain back. etc.) I've seen a few story of people running out of oil too..

  7. Thanks for your input, We managed 575whp without running out of fuel with that fuel pump. So, I hope that same pump coul pump out another 75whp before maxing out. Well, I hope it will work haha ! 4. Will read that thread very soon. We had a fair share of blow-by in the intake piping back then, then we went atmo and it was obviously better. but we could also plumb back in the exhaust, I guess.
  8. Hey guys, I just spoke with my mechanic and we had a few ''disagrement'' on a few stuff so I'm curious what other would do in my situation or if you already tried it and could give your input. Basicly, the build is a RB26 with a EFR 83/74 EWG plumb back with Type-R cam and all the usual add-ons. Car will be daily driven in downtown commute. 1) Spark plug, I wanted to go NGK BKR7E-11 and he told me it might not be enough. I believe he was talking about enought cold. 2) Oil pump ; I wanted to go stock pump 81mm with reimax gear locktite the plate and shim the pressure relief. He prefer I go with a nismo,reimax or tomei pump.. but then.. you need bigger sump, so he tell me to get the greddy.. then why not do a drain back with hose.. I agree it might be the best thing to do, but at 3000$ more, I'm not sure it's needed for a daily driven downtown commute car that will barley do any drag and circuit stuff. I'M pretty sure the reimax gear can handle my type of driving. Also, I don't like the gredyd extended pan, i'm scared to break it when hitting pothole ( I live in a winter country) 3) Injector, I want to go ID1000 with stock fuel rail and my actual walbro 450lph . he recommanded me to go twin 044 pump, surge tank with lines and custom rail.. I honestly think it's over-rated for my application. I was doing 570whp with sard 700cc and stock setup with nismo fuel reg..Surely, I could strech an extra 75-100whp with this kind of setup with bette rinjector. Whats your thought ?? ON top, I don't really have space in my trunk for that kind of setup. 4) I wanted to go with the hi-octaine air/oil separator to free up some space in my engine bay. would you feel confident just running this setup with a mines cam baffle or would you still run an external (vent to atmo) catch-can ? 5) Finally, I used to run a 3 inch exhaust and made 570 with a pair of -5s. It seems to be breathing nicely. My setup was ; Vibrant ultra quiet resonator, magnaflow 3 inch straight pipe muffler with a Varex muffler 3 inch. Because I do downtown driving, I like a ''quiet exhaust''. So this time I decided to go 4 inch muffler as a cat-replacement, with a HKS Hyper 90mm rear muffler + a 90mm varex. He scared it might be too restrictive.. saying I should remove one muffler and only run 2. Or maybe I could run 2 + a resonator. He said, every muffler you add, you restrict the flow by about 100whp. 6) Also wanted a 4 inch dump pipe considering I was going to plumb back my EWG. First, he dont like the idea of plumb back the EWG, but I'm scared I will hate the loud sound of the EWG. Surely, a few of you must 've drove a EWG setup, how was it ?   9. Anyone else tried cryo and/or WPC, REM finish, shot-peening on a stock gearset, input shaft and synchro set ? Really tempting to open my box and do that, but not sure of which process I should go for.

  12. FS/ TW: Reimax close gear ratio 3-speed for skyline BNR32/ BNR33. Come with a special WPC treatment worth approx. 400$, make the gear stronger. I want 1000$ cnd. The gear has maybe 1 or 2 very small nick beside it's BRAND NEW. Problem : As you can see, it only has 3 counter gear and not 4 like it should. so this kit is incomplete. I'm no expert, but I suppose you could either take or copy one out of a OS giken kit ( more common), use it as a spare for your close ratio gearset, or speak japanese and ask reimax just for the counter gear missing. ( OS giken sell countergear for 250$.. so i doubt reimax would sell it much more than that.) P.S: For people who think it's expensive for an incomplete kit, let me remind you an OS Giken 3-speed with a WPC treatment would cost approx. 3000-3500$ cnd when you factor all shipping cost, taxes and duties + waiting time to get the part ( Os GIKEN quote a waiting of 4 month).   14. I got this Reimax 3speed gearset on yahoo auction it stated it was a used kit for 1000kms and was in very good condition and WPC. Then, I came back to the auction page and not sure if google translation got updated or they edited their auction but it now stated '' repair parts'' ''shortage''.   16. All this talk make me looking forward to see what a RB26 with 250cams with 83/74 1.05 plumb back will do. we don't have ethanol over here, but I have water/meth. I don't really care for dynoqueen number, i care more about how it will feel/drive Hopefully, it will be like I wanted ; responsive as a GT-SS, with power of the -5 When I think about it, i'm thinking maybe I should had gone 0.92 or 7670 with 1.05 for exemple.
  17. never see the abs light with mine ! BTW, im now running the more advanced fullrace ETS unit.. but extremetsc is also making a more advanced unit, i would recommand swapping it with the new stuff.
  18. I know these gearset are pretty rare, but if you didn't know, Reimax do make a gearset for BNR32 box. I bought one on yahoo auction. So my question now is what else should I fit !? 1. New set of synchro ( 220us) from nissan 2. OS giken input shaft ? 3. Os giken billet center plate ? I'm leaning toward 1 and 3. Would rather put the money on porting the head and do other stuff, to be honest. My setup `RB26 + EFR 83/74 ( you make the call on how much whp it will produce) + its a daily driven R32 and wish to hit the dragstrip ( maybe start lapping) from times to times.

Maybe I should've went with the IWG then lol.. well.. i could always try to swap my actual FR EWG mani + 83/74 for the IWG lol With that said, I think I will be able to offer a fair and interesting comparaison between the 83/74 and PTE 6266 DBB Gen2. Both rated 800hp. same dyno, same tuner, same haltech ecu. same ''built'' rb26 ( we're both on 86.5mm), same exhaust size basicly. Difference beeing mostly the cam ( 250 9.15mm Vs 260 8.9 ) and the turbos.

I want to strengthen some of my tranny component and I'm looking for feedback or opinion on this. 1) Anyone tried one of these process ? should I only do one process or can I do 2 or 3 of them ? 2) which part should I think about treating ? gear + synchro ? Anything else ? Should I try to treat other component of my engine rebuild ( valve- valve spring - camshaft - piston etc.) Thanks guy

My engine will already be out, this is not a problem. the problem is that I drive my car in the street and here in canada, we have tons of pothole, so the fact that I already ',scrub my pan at the moment, with an even lower sump/pan..i'm really scared to crack my pan/sump. I barely track the car and have a tomei baffle plate installed in the pan. So I think my best choice is N1 with reimax gear.
