  1. My friend told me it's because of the rear diff backlash, does it make sens? If I go for a Quaife, will I ever get a backlash due to the gear vs disc ? and if I upgrade my stock FRONT diff for a nismo GT 1.5 way, will i get the backlash ? would I be better buying a front quaife too ? thanks!!
  2. Just thought that I could share the discussion I had with one of the turbosmart sale rep. The part about the valve is, IMO, the most interesting thing to debate/discuss. Because if it's true, it means that everyone pushing more than 25psi should most likely benefit from a VTA/block off plate and run a bigger BOV somewhere on your piping. I'm no mechanic, IRL, I'm an accountant and a detailer, so sorry if I bother some ppl with my numerous questions but considering that few have bite the bullet on the EFR turbo, I guess I'm just trying to see if I can't make this combo even better.. After reading this, I'm thinking I should either buy the dual port and see how it goes.. or follow my mechanic's advice and go oem valve + weld a Raceport somewhere on the piping.
  3. I believe I'm the only one looking for this, but for future reference, I don't think most knew that turbosmart make bolt-on BOV for the EFR.. they make it plumb back and 50/50 dual port. They say better response for both of them vs oem. http://www.turbosmartdirect.com/Product-Categories/Kompact-Series/BOV-Kompact-Shortie-Dual-Port.html http://www.turbosmartdirect.com/Product-Categories/Kompact-Series/BOV-Kompact-Shortie-Plumb-Back.html
  4. I'm not, I'm simply stating the only one 83/74 -rb26 I know of and his exhaust combinaison. Just posting another option/point of view, we are there to discuss
  5. Gotta love forum's influence ! But I have to say that Geoff when he managed to make 700whp with his efr, he had a 3.5 inch with cat. So I'm thinking 3.5 without cat shouldn't that much restrictive.. I mean.. i dont think we can really make 750whp with this turbo on a rb26.
  6. I was actually thinking about doing a 4 inch dowpipe and using a 3.5 inch cat-back. At the dyno, I could remove my 3.5 inch cat-back and see how much i gain. this way I would need if it's worth the price of custom.
  7. Yeah, I gotta admit that lol. Now, the challenge is to find a ''quiet'' 3.5 OR 4 inch exhaust. #challengeaccepted
  8. Agree, but its a lot easier to find 3 inch *quality* muffler/resonator than in 3.5 inch or 4 inch ( most are just ',race spec'' and barely do sh*t lol). Lets be honest, people who go 4 inch usually don't care too much about sound isn't ?
  9. Just heard my friend 4 inch exhaust and it wasn't that bad.. by reading most people opinion on this website, 4 inch is way too loud, but to my surprise, it isn't THAT bad..
  10. re-routing in the exhaust. it would be way too lound if i go external, I'm afraid.
  11. I have 3 inch right now. However, I'm thinking I *might* be better with a 3.5 inch and would the 4 inch be over-kill ?
  12. So after looking through threads, some say it will raise the engine. Some say it won't. I already have a engine damper, I'm wondering if I should go nismo or oem. The price difference is not a factor, there's a 40$ difference. I'm leaning toward the Factory because i don't wish to have clearance problem, but I thought it would be fair to take 5 minutes and make sure I make the right move Thanks!
  13. you cant receive any new pm... please send me one when you clear your box.
  14. I believe I will try with my blitz as a dual bov first, and then block it off and feel the difference. http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1330353&postcount=9
  15. I will buy your Cspec if you wish to keep your quad !
  16. I admit, I like the loud surge sound ( not the high pitch hks makes). Some will go with 3.5' or 4 inch exhaust with one muffler. I don't like it. I have a 3 inch with a varex and 2 muffler to keep it as quiet as possible. I prefer bov sound over excessive-loud exhaust note. To each his own right ? With that said, if the difference is minime, I'm willing to sacrifice 15whp and 100rpm spool-up to hear my bov. However, if the difference is going to be 35whp and 400rpm, I will keep the internal EFR. No need to flames me.
  17. So I'm still looking at the external BOV -thing. On page 94, Geoff said the difference shouldn't be noticeable, but I was looking for second opinion on different forums....and found out that a few guys would keep the OEM internal BOV from the EFR, but would keep their external BOV also. I was thinking about buying a GREDDY TYPE-R.. if I see the external bov greatly affect the boost between gear, I could install the recirculate adaptor or block off both adapter and use the EFR bov. What do you think about this option ? #2) If I keep the internal EFR BOV, do I need to delete the oem plastic tubing to have a ''cleaner more direct'' path for the single turbo ?
  18. great stuff, I'm buying the front one for sure. interesting about the rear Im in the usa, so they are cheaper than what you guys pay
  19. hey guys, any update/report/review on your install ? I believe a few guys were in the process of fitting them !
  20. well... i grew up really liking that pssh sound ( not a fan of the hks high pitch note, but prefer a lower pitch note like these) yeah yeah, I'M well aware I'm going to spend 250$ for some sound, but oh well, that's my car right ?
  21. I was actually looking at buying a raceport for my EFR turbo setup. these thing look great and sound similar to my blitz bov which i like. But i dont really see the need for the electronic controller on our setup.
  22. Piggaz, you do many launch with it ? I was told to go OS giken if I would be launching the car often.
  23. thank you! never thought coppermix made a '' competition'' version. I thought they were sh*t for drag purpose, only good for circuit or daily. seems like this one can take good abuse and I saw your running the same one for 5 yrs now. good enough for me Anyone tried or heard about the spec clutch? http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/spec-clutch-1246.html
