  1. great TOWN of sydney? which town u refering to?......leme guess......slavic....Whetheril Pk/Fairfield? lol they defected you on a stock intercooler? are you sure its stock when you purchased it... hmm air filters boxed and still got defect notice???...gee that cop must of been pretty harsh... what have you got on there now? i suggest taking some pics of the intercooler and Air filter...show some of us on here..... this way we can give better advice........ i would also suggest asking this question in GTROC UK forum...... theres a few importers on there that have the exact spec on every part...as another member on there supply pretty much everything you need on a GT-R..
  2. i thought Z-tunes are the rarest of the bunch as well as being the ULTIMATE street GT-R
  3. well i get what your trying to say but the Integra Type R's performance is no where near the R34 GT-R........... even if the figures are set out in a way that it is..... so thats why i put it in a different perspective. an old Kingswood.....that was running on carby... that wouldve been SLOW as a SLOATH... id bet a 2009' Honda Jazz would probably beat it with its V-TEC set up... let alone an S2000 or type R... anyhow either way..... id personally think that more than 50% green p-platers are breaking the law with a high performance car. there is just way too many im guessing surely by now they shouldve moved on to full's by now. and worse, ive seen a few red p'platers with WRXs etc
  4. well there are affordable POD filters around from reputable manufactuers like BLITZ, HKS etc... Pod filters offer more air intake compared to air boxes.. but in turn ...it can draw alot of hot air from the engine bay.. what some people do is try and enclose the area where the pod sits...to try and guide cold air from outside andblock out unwanted hot air.... from my experience....pod filters work pretty well..
  5. lol well true..... but thats because the people that tend to make spiteful posts havent replied to it yet..... lol
  6. from memory the GTR one doesnt but not so sure about the GTS or GTS-t
  7. dont bother ringing cops some of them are as thick as 2 bricks! alot of them are starter-cops...just traffic cops..whos to say they havent been bored all day catching speeding drivers and do somethin different for a change...like defecting an import?! when i had my supra few years ago... when one of them pulled me over.....he didnt even know what car it was to write on the fine....he had to ask his partner. (the idiot couldve just at least walked to the back and see "Supra") anyways, if anything.....ring the EPA. coppers ONLY fine you.....if they are even in doubt...they'll just issue u with a fine to get it off thier backs.... after the defect and fine.. you will need to go to a testing station/EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and from memory...ALOT of modifications are illegal dude....not just BOVs other things like Turbo upgrades, boost controllers, aftermarket Cats, aftermarket intercoolers, larger injectors with fuel rails etc etc etc practically they made it in australia that its very hard to even add anything...unless engineered.... due to the fact that modified cars which obviously run more fuel and in turn...exceed their emission laws it sux, but its ONLY illegal if you get caught!!! ive been told by a friend of mind who actually said even Turbo Timers are worthy of an infringement... due to the fact that you are not meant to walk away from a motor vehicle whilst its still RUNNING... im not sure whether its because of the risk that the car taking off on its own or vunerable to crime? (like the lady in cabramatta who left her BMW running with her toddler son in there...some guy took off with it and dumped the car in the park with the windows closed, locking the doors...in turn, the kid died due to heat stress in the car) either way, im sure every tom, dick & his dog has a turbo timer... as i said...its only illegal if they catch you.
  8. any type of aftermarket are apparently illegal. and will comply with the EPA regulations... unless i have heard of a few people having them engineered with a certificate that can be exempted....
  9. yeah im pretty sure in NSW, the prohibited car index...the R32 GTS-t skylines were in there.... but then again as mentioned before in previous threads..... the power to weight as well as prohibited vehicles combined are a load of crap anyways. about every V8 car is prohibited...including 1979 Holden Kingswood V8.. but a Honda S2000 for e.g is one of the fastest N/A 4Cyls out there... that would smoke the Kingswood like no tomorrow..... but yet its legal. and the S2000 is known to keep up with S15 200sx... some specs on acceleration show its actually faster..but once again......its legal.... there rediculous loop holes.....
  10. well generally im pretty sure Turbocharged vehicles are prohibited...... even though its a low powered 2.0l GTS-T old skyline, unless you can prove otherwise....
  11. well how much did you pay in comparison to market price? cause 9 times out of 10.....if the price is too good to be true....then its most likely NOT...... im guessing you didnt buy it from Nengun right? they are very reputable and do offer genuine products
  12. well thats at the motor/flywheel. what it shows on the Dyno is Rear wheel Kilowatts an estimated on many cars...you lose 30% through the drivetrain so say 206 - 30% = 144kw @ the wheels but remember....this can be affected by alot of things.........is your clutch worn?.......this can play a big role
  13. yeah... well thats what happens to people..... something gruesome like this happens... with a whole lot of ....organic mess..... people will rush up to see it cause they are curious whats the image of the aftermath.. but once they see it.......they may become traumatised... and some may even need counselling. i think its a mixture of Curiosity + Blood lust. reminds me of executions in other countries...people gather around to watch. but after it.....im sure it will leave an after taste in their minds and stomach.........
  14. heya Ras.... looking at the info... Your R33 is a Series 2? how come yours has the Series 1 headlights? (i was pretty sure series 2 has the Projector style headlights)
  15. well FYI.....from my experience...the 2 Inline 6Cyl motors...the RB25DE and 2JZ-GE........actually dont sound bad at all for a natrually aspirated car. they actually dont have that crackle fart sound like Lancers, Civics or preludes. and 2JZ-GE's actually do sound very simillar to the TT SUPRAs 2JZ-GTE.......
  16. well its one of them things alot of people have their Fog lights on withought rain ...but the cops dont always police it. as well as tint.....i see a VAST majority of cars with illegal tinting..... but they still get away with it. cops cant be there all the time to police things.....but even when they are there.... i actually saw a Cop Redeo Wagon/Ute... at night in fairfield....driving behind them...and we..drove opposite direction to a WRX and another unknown vehicle street race from a set of lights.... the hoons were racing up to speeds of 120km/h in 60km/h zone.... STRAIGHT PAST THEM...........VROOOoooOOm........the cop wagon didnt even slow down or think about it.... it just kept going. i was Gobsmacked and totally shit faced.....
  17. well i heard otherwise........i heard a tuner say MOBILE SYNERGY is the best....... anyhow ..i dont see it as a real big deal though.... has anyone here tried "V-power 2"???? or also may have been called "V-power Racing" its rare as hen's teeths.......... ive only seen ONE ...SHELL station sell it in West Ryde.. although it was 100 or 101ron............i think it got phased out due to its High Cost........so they kept the standard V power...
  18. thanks for the info, ill keep that in mind....
  19. lol that bullshiet dude...... apparently i read up that in dreams...an individual actually never dies...... and i kinda agree...ive dreamed of dying...EXPERIENCES....but at the end of it.......you just either wake up or just some how get out of the situation. anyhow dude......sorry to hear......that wouldve been a big mess...... ive seen a Suicide in Newtown Railway Station... an Emo or Gothic guy hung himself on the frames above the railway lines..... not a good site at all....
  20. yes it is easy money... but it will sux big time for the owner IF something does happen. it is always a risk every time you take... ANY, car out of a drive way... but like i said, its a pretty prestigious car... with an estimated 65,000 - 75,000$ price tag...... thats a BIG call dude... can you IMAGINE renting one?? (if there are any places that do hire..and beleive me ive asked his years ago and nobody offered this car) it depends on how you see it...i think the $200 is not enough at all...regardless of the hospitality you get. insurance premiums are very expensive...and the rarity of the car..... ive not heard of anyone rent out imports..even EVOs or STIs....... let alone a GT-R any good luck though
  21. to be hoenst i have not noticed anything different ive tried them all.... even the 'V-power 2' offered in selected Shell servos... which said it was 101 octane...
  22. Ill have to send you a post on this later on...... i recall ringing around for this a few years ago...regarding my Toyota Supra headlights... there was a mob that was doing this... they said that they opened the headlight lense by melting/softening the adhesive and refurbishing the headlight.....it was cheap too. ill let you know also when i get home this afternoon, it was on a magazine i bought. also...you may wanna look at Reglazing the lense. during that time when i was trying to get it refurbished... there was a glazier company which was willing to copy the lense. but the disadvantage of that was that...they require the plastic lense sent to them separate... takes them about a week. but in turn...glass headlights is ALOT better than plastic...it will never have hairline cracks and will not not discolour due to age. and plus... with plastic, you can lose a small percentage of lighting... but apparently with clear glass you lose nothing.
  23. yes but he has a good point... its not about heart...its about someones hard earned money..... and its different if it was for family or friends... not everyone is a charity organisation...... at the end of the day.... i in favour of his reply, because at the end of the day...its the owners risk... and his responsibility if the car gets damaged etc..... it really isnt a cheap car...majority of people not only for this forum...but in society cannot afford one. i have mentioned this post to a no# of friends and they think the same.... no offence to your needs or post...and congraulations on your wedding.....
  24. Firstly, yes gear oil is just gear oil....you will never feel any differences...just like engine oil. its just a brand.... i personally dont care about what brands i use....but make sure u use EXACTLY what your Handbook suggest. secondly, if your gearbox is crunching or not falling into gear properly...then id say something is worn inside... Transmission is gearbox...... no difference.,...but be aware...AUTOmatic and Manual gear fluid is different.... in regards to changing fluids....your handbook should state your service intervals.... and with the Intercooler... it really isnt magic, its not going to give you much gain if you arent willing to upgrade other mods, like boost controller & turbo etc. lastly, the crunching sound...im not sure if you are refering to missing a gear or the unexpected sound of shifting when your car is stationary... but if if its missing the gear....yes it can leave markings on the gears within the gearbox. and like i said before, if its an unexpeted sound..then there must be something worn...you may need to get it checked hope this helps cheers
