  1. Ok, why would the turbo glow red if it wasn't working [and assuming he was just cruising [not flogging the bejesuz out of it] before it happened]>>>our was he???
  2. I agree with fineline, spot on!!! My decision was $$$$, I didn't want to pay another $10K for a GTR. I preferred to put that $$$ into my bikes, rifles, farm, and house [figuratively speaking]. I was only ever after a reliable, highish performance [+250rwkw] economical road car. I didn't need a track or dyno demon. The skyline was the best option by far, better than anything available locally [holden, ford, suburu, toyota, nissan etc] better initial price, performance, and specs by at least $5k. Mines been to brissy, sydney, melbourne, canberra etc etc etc and done it 'standing on its ear', exactly what I wanted.
  3. What sort of turbo? std or hiflow? HKS? etc etc Dyno looks fine, but really doesn't tell us anything. Need the boost level and the AFR graphs.
  4. I'd question the 480/the stock injectors>>>They'd be fine until you get sustained high demand, can't see how they can maintain the fuel delivery at 260kmh. I would have thought that you'd need bigger?
  5. If your money tree ever seeds, can I get one V.nice whats what list you have, bet your bedroom looked good with all of them unpacked!!
  6. don't point, it's rude!!!
  7. +1 on the hone for new rings
  8. readings may not be quite as high or as even or as accurate, comp tests are supposed to be done when the motor is at normal operating temp. But should be an indicator.....I mean if the bore is shagged, it will still read low on that cylinder
  9. "Any suggestions/advice?" yeah................nothing comes for free, you can spend it drinking, you can spend it on wild women and song>>>>you spent it thrashing your car, so now you pay!!!
  10. Don't know if this is totally relevant, but I brought a perspex CAI shield off ebay, around $70. Its the clear one so I could see what I was doing, it will be a template for me, I intend to replace the shield with a CF unit at some stage. Cut and shaped it, used the heat gun to bend it, etc and alls fine. I removed the std filter steel bracket and used a hole saw and put two 40mm holes in my gaurd at the bracket site, along with the air around the headlight and other holes on the side etc, plus the CAI box is not a complete seal around my IC and intake pipes, but I reckon that the greater % of my air is from outside the engine bay. I recently had the car dynoed, and it made absolutely no difference to the knock level, power or the torque with the bonnet up or down. So this indicates to me that my CAI sheild is working, and that the 'leaks' I have around my pipes have little effect. 100mm GT3076 wg with a Z32, HKS pod with triple layer dry filter. I reckon I would have trouble finding the room for a std filter setup, and cbf changing it anyway.
  11. Interested in the front bar chin.
  12. When i brought my Hilux with the V8 motor in it, the holden ecu was wrapped in rags and behind the kick panel. The rags were wet and moldy. When the shop that did the conversion rewired they punched through the firewall grommet and tore the crap out of it, so it leaked. The guy I brought it off had been driving it like that for over 12 months..........son of rajab knows how the ecu was still working, it had condensation inside the cover. And I won't talk about the wiring under the dash I found, I reckon if the interior wasn't so wet, it would have shorted out and caught fire..........lol.
  13. I did what revhead did, works fine, looks pro.
  14. I know about the gentlemens agreement, it was a white lie from the start. Thye claimed 206 for the GTR/evo/sti and they always tested a bit higher. maybe pops Honda was the only true gentleman...lol. Yes, I've seen them with FI, and they do 'complete' the package by all reports. I wouldn't compare the NSX with the GTR personally. One is a tweo seater sports car, and the other is a 4 seater sports tourer. Although many compare them, they are miles apart in concept imo.
  15. And nearly every report on the NSX I've ever read says "Excellent handling and ride, if only the motor had more power" It is fair to say that as an overall package it underachieved the potential it was capable of.
  16. One of "those pedals", what brand, Razo???? I can have a look at how they fitted mine and send dirty pics maybe!!
  17. Spotted a silver R33 at London Circuit - Northbourne intersection 12:20. they were in front of me. And a Chameleon R33 [maybe, could have been a 32] coming out of Murrumbateman at 12:40 or there abouts, waved, don't know if they waved back.
  18. I've got a Razo accelerator pedal, can't tell you how much better it is, came wiith the car.
  19. Bring on the dyno queens.......... The biggest negative is you have to tune for it, that would likely mean that you can no longer use PULP, or if you do then very very cautiously [but with over 5 degree's and maybe much larger I'd say that its a big negatory]. So you would be limited to a few specialised servo's in Metro area's. If you wanted to use your car to go across country, you'd have no hope.....................but in the year 2525 who knows?
  20. Use 256' 8.5mm lift ones for increased efficiency and a smoother power delivery maybe. If you use bigger say 272' and 9.something lift then you could get a better peak power result, but it will be over a smaller rev range. I have Tomei 256/8.5, not unhappy with them, but 280rwkw was my baseline, and I wanted room to move above this figure. If you are happy with around 260rwkw, std cams with an exhaust cam wheel with around 3-5 degrees on it would be fine [you'd set that up on a dyno tune].
  21. For a 33 and a 34, its right next to the battery behind the boot trim under the rear window parcel tray
  22. Well spotted nizmonut, ML suffix............
  23. 285rwhp/210rwkw is averageish on 12 psi
  24. And wasn't that the exact same in 1991 or thereabouts? I seem to remember a Mike Willesee show that compared a local market Datsun 240K?? to an 32 GTR to a race prepped [for Bathurst] 32 GTR. And then compared prices to the local Holden Ford Valiant 'equivalent'. It was alla bit of journalistic Nissan bashing to show how the bad oversea's cars shouldn't be allowed to be sold or race in Oz. We are arguing over the same ol' same ol' all over again..............time stands still for neither man nor beast!!
  25. Wireless broadband, only option I've got, no copper wire broadband out here. Not very impressive. Question, why do some of you have like 1200 miles to the test centre, are you on Norfolk Island?
