  2. Gtst and Triumph speed triple luv 'em both. 290rwkw for the Gtst and what ever the factory delivers for the Triumph, hang in there, it gets way easier as you get older, money will come. My biggest hassle is weighing up a Skyline day and some motorcycle rally somewhere, which do I go to. So far the bike meets are winning, a ride, a band, and getting on the gas with my mates, fixes me up for now.
  3. Balance pipe for a GTR, no balance pipe for a Gtst. I opted for the 100mm intake with the reversion flutes for my GT3076 aka Gt30r, just in case, to be sure, to be sure [and I have the Hks cast low mount and hi temp coated + extrude honed]. I have nil problems with it, but I am running with Tomei 256/8.5's so it will be just a bit different to std there as well. You'll need a Z32 with the Gt30r, std will not give enough.
  4. Meow Psst Anyway whats happened to the 'roo's, they all dead, did they get buried or cremated??
  5. fully synthetic = 10,000 for me, the polymer strings don't break down like mineral oil. I do a filter every change. My oil always comes out clean [but used] anyway.
  6. no, but you'll backfire all the time and then get nabbed by the porkies
  7. There are two different Vortex's, dark green 96 and white/gold 98 [bowser colours].
  8. Maybe?? real world === probably
  9. In area, what Rolls says is true. Area is larger. However there are other factors such as surface turbulance and drag that take away the advantage. A 3"pipe has less surface area for the gases to pass over than two 2" pipes. The best way to visualise this is to think of the gas as it passes through. The best way to visualise this is to think of the gas as it passes through. At the surface gas velocity is zero, and somewhere in the centre [depending on flow patterns] the flow is at 100% efficiency, in this case 2 may not equal 1. To be definitive about it you'd have to do simulated or real flow comparisons. But it will help to stop you dragging your exhaust.........lol
  10. I've got a 9" angle grinder and an axe!!
  11. I mate of mine just bought one, synthetic stock, stainless, mid heavy barrel, not a bad weapon, He reckons it shoots well. I'm yet to get a look at the recoil lug, Tikka used to have very narrow recoil lugs, so they had bedding issues.
  12. I thought GZR33 was vidding the whole shebang
  13. Ha ha I was just being a [email protected] .25-06>>will cull!!! Zero hold over at 275 metres, good for skins.
  14. Have to be the tranq'ed option, a head shot would be ineffective, a projectile has to hit something solid to be able to expand and do damage.
  15. If you look at the shape of the tank and wher the pump sits in the well,,,, and then look at where the fuel gauge pick up is, you'll notice that the fule gauge only measures the slab block part of the tank, not the well. The well would hold a considerable reserve, around 10 litres would be my guess. I can usually get 500km before I have to fill up. Guyra to Gilgandra highway miles, 520km, I put 52.7 litres in. R33 Gtst 18psi and 290+rwkw, but you don't boost much unless overtaking. Who says you can't have [a bit of] performance and economy.
  16. HKS mushroom filter is a dry one if you use the new triple layer foam filter. I'd be careful how you clean a filter, some [not all] filters require a very strict cleaning regime, if you get it wrong then their filtering and breathing abilities are compromised. K+N comes to mind esp.
  17. I know there is a story and really smart one liner here............. http://au.news.yahoo.com/080522/2/16z4i.html
  18. The only problem with the HKS/Blitz/Trust etc is sourcing one without an internal wastegate. You can get them, or change the exhaust housing etc but they aren't as common or as easy to come by as the Garrett equivalent. The HKS pro series was external [and I think they are now deleted], but the Pro s series is all internal. I was originally going to go with a 2835 pro s until I read somewhere that the HKS cast low mount manifold had the best flow figures......that just started me off on a whole new tangent. Now someone tell me different [cos I'm probably wrong here].
  19. My roo hunting episode............
  20. Something 'one off bench' tests don't take into account. When deciding, you have to also take into account the oil contaminating the AFM sensor. Dry filters don't do this, wet/oil type filters will do it. Even if you only oil lightly and correctly, some can still eventually get sucked through. And no filter lasts forever, regular cleaning and routine replacement are essential.
  21. $6 million dollar question......... The attraction of HKS is they often [not always] offer packages. That is turbo, dump, oil/water hoses and fittings, bolt up nothing else required. Experience tells you that there will always be something they don't have in a kit, but essentially its a simple install. HKS are much dearer initially because they are a kit, and they are HKS. Garrett turbo's are just that........a turbo in a box. You can then set about organising your own [usually custom or second hand] dump/front, intake, and oil and water lines. Garrett are very cheap [for what you get] initially, but end up costing nearly as much and take a bit longer to install as you make things on the fly. They are much more expensive if you get someone else to do the work. I went with the garrett, but sometimes during the install wished I'd bought a HKS [when I was waiting on a part or something wouldn't work right]. HKS are generally thought to have slightly better performance figures, but it's hard to actually prove.
  22. Only problem with that thought is you need tags or face being dobbed in and paying huge fines for shooting a protected species [yes, 'roo's are protected]. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see the grey culled heaps, especially in the national parks and state rec area's etc where they are taking over.
