If you get cams, you won't need cam gears, not for sub 250. Tomei cams have the right amount of advance on them already.
-
SFA...........you wana know why, because its so easy to ramp 'em up and make life just that bit more exciting. Why would you want to own a Skyline and not modify it, thats what Toyota Camry's are for. Sometimes being different is not being different, just boring.

Nice power too Max, pity I arrived too late to see your run. Phatass was awesome, and I really liked the way GZR33 spooled up, sounded very tough. Sorry bout the late comment was waiting for the power figures etc then I was away working, just got back. -
Cruiser and Sled are right, if you want to understand them a bit better try doing a google/yahoo search on 'What is a camshaft', you should be able to get a better idea. Cams are a waste of $$$ unless you have the mods to take advantage of them. Have a look at the threads in All duno results RB20 and see who has camshafts and the other mods they list that make the camshafts able to be used. Camshafts on their own will do nothing [and could even make your motor perform worse].

The a/f at 12 is OK with the new tune, reasonably straight line right through the curve. The power curve itself doesn't look quite right, its jittery. With a pfc the tuner should have been able to make it much more progressive and smooth. For examples, have a look at the R33 RB25 thread at the top of this section and pick a couple that are in your power range with a pfc.

Sorry to hear, hope the scum rot in hell!! PS I put a pic up for you, let me know if you don't want it in.

Ask for the reciepts, esp. for the gearbox, you need to see what their definition of rebuilt is. Also the highflow, head, GTR rods [make sure they are GTR and are new] etc. Ask what rebore it is on, and if the crank has been done. And get more detail on the injectors, FMIC etc You need to know brands and sizes. If its such a good thing, why is it only a 3" from the cat back?

Gotta love his work.....look at the smile!!! Thanks everyone, esp. Cejay for oganising it, Glen and Daniel for putting up with us all running amuck, LTS Jayce our resident bookie, the girls and people who unselfishly did the BBQ, and also the non Skyline people who helped add some variety and bagging opportunities [luv the banter]. PS If someone got any good footage of my Skyline I'd be interested even though unfortunately I didn't have it up there for long. -

I'll be there gotta drive over [250Km] so will miss the start. -
Why would Nissan make a 'special' for Australia only? More parts, greater inventory = extra unwarranted expense. Except for the fuel issues, I see no valid reason to go to the extra expense of dragging a few cars off the production line and changing peripheral fittings just to torture Oz owners. The most expediant thing Nissan can do is make them as close to all the same as possible, and just makes too much good business sense to try to do that at every opportunity.

Yeah, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel....but the bloke behind you can't see any light at all....lol -
The flip side is...........you get the 'benefit' of marketing a low k's car when you sell!!! Ok, you don't like it and feel ripped off somehow, but when you sell, your going to sell it with those same 'missing' km's aren't you!

Where's the 4wd Holden have been threatening the world with............and I'm not talking Rodeo!!! GTR looks much better value IMO. -
if you own a motorbike, you can live without the skyline for bit longer........but you still end up hanging out like some drug f##ked eye glazed freak.
-
If your wires melted on the manifold, maybe they shorted out. Only guessing, but if they short out would your ecu feel the pain???
-
Same here.........was thinking of adding a hole at the very front of the side and near the top. Positioned so that it hopefully doesn't take in water and dirt from the front wheel. Maybe I'll have to use some pvc piping as a duct snorkel as well. But I need to think about it some more first.

What I meant was that they are expensiveish compared to the JJR's etc. But they do fit nice. Why don't you try looking for a s/h one from the jap auctions etc I can recommend a couple of places, and there are some on this forum. A FMIC doesn't exactly wear out, and you might turn a $1000+ buy into a sub $K with a bit of patience and some hunting around. They are junking skylines all the time in Japan.
