  1. It all depends on how tall you sit???
  2. I wasn't advocating big hp units, you can get a smaller KKR380 at a rrp of $800, and it does everything your hiflow does BUT its new - everything is new. And there are other brands out there that are sub $1k, Biagio, Hypergear etc. The day of the hiflow is dead!!! sell it while it is still worth something and ppl still want one.
  3. I hope to be there, depends on my car being ready, btw 98 fuel is available in Tumut. 101 is not available. Braidwood sounds good, Wood fired pizza's on a 40 degree summers day.........................yummo!!! On another note, I can get a cooks tour of Burrinjuck wall and maybe even the power house etc [i'll have to ask and arrange etc, I work in the industry, I know the guys] if anyone is interested for a future cruise. It would be BYO meat etc BBQ lunch though, there is a shop at the park, but I don't think they are set up for lunch and coffee's etc, might get a pie and coke.
  4. 3.6 to 4 kg is normal oil pressure at anything over say 2500rpm. You will see 4 on a cold day and 3.6 on a hot one. It will spike at 4.5 to 6 on a cold day when you first start it up. It will drop to around 2-3 kg at idle at normal operating temp. Well mine does anyway. One thing I don't get is why would anyone get a turbo hiflowed for say $1300 when you can buy a Garrett 3071/3076 at $1600. Granted there is a bit of mucking about with oil and water lines, but it is a new double ball bearing bigger hp unit. you can sell your std turbo for $3-400 and help offset the changeover. I did the hiflow thing to, but realised the error of my ways so sold it while I could. I'm not regretting it at all, the turbo i brought allowed me to 'grow' the car if and when I wanted to. My advise, get the hiflow repaired under warranty etc and sell, sell, sell..........buy a KKR or Garrett for the same $$$$ or close to it. You'll be streets ahead [yeah I know, easy to say, but do it anyway].
  5. Spot on, and its the ducks squeezed out guts, esp. for locusts, bugs, stone chips etc. It does rub a little bit, but not anything near as bad as bugs and chips. Plus when you put the bra on, you cover it all anyway. Leech has the addy right. I actually ordered one and it didn't fit properly, but I solved it by driving to Melbourne and getting them to fit one on the spot, so if you have a SII you have me to thank............lol. Any questions, just ask.
  6. If it is a genuine 6boost, I'd call Kyle and send it back to be checked and modded by him if it isn't right [but it should be OK if its genuine].
  7. I just read this thread from start to finish.......................I now feel very multicultural...............almost like I've been on holidays overseas - but I'm sure it can't last. And the thread = pointless, sort of like comparing a speedwell to a malvern star, who cares!!!
  8. If you know a swim instructor, or just go to a pool somewhere and get them to watch you swim and issue a certificate, not hard. We have employed ppl with Enviro Science degrees before, but also employed those with relevant experience or experience/knowledge that is equivalent. Because the job is so specialised, you tend to learn all you need to know on the job. You can also enrol and do a 3-4 year correspondence course and become a fully qualified hydrographer. then the pay is more like 75k, but if you get into management then the pay can go +100K and thats in DWE, private consultants can do much better [but the risks are greater]. Honestly the best ppl are those that have a good smattering of all sorts of skills, electrical, IT, welding, boating, fabrication, data, chainsaw, techheads, as well as quals etc jack of all trades, master of none and you don't get that in Uni alone, it takes a uni going farm hand who loves IT/computers.....................but having said that, we all have to start somewhere. And with the Feds kicking in $10 billion over 10 years for the Murray darling, we are in a growth trend big time atm. I can explain better via phone, if anyone is interested either phone the number in the ad, or PM with your number and I'll phone you////or I'll give you my mobile number and you can phone me instead. Big sell over
  9. Sorry, my stupid, I should have looked a bit harder.
  10. Rarely, this is the first now for approx. 5 years.

  12. Hylomar and copper gasket sealant are spray on gasket goo's that work well when used properly. You can also [can't you always] get both types in a tube and slap it on with your finger/knife etc. Always be very very careful around oil ways, big end bearings and oil galleries don't like gasket goo. The trick is to put on enough to do the job, but not too much that you squeeze it into your oil system as you tighten the head down. I've seen big end bearings that had sub 1000km on them and down to the copper, not pretty, and the culprit was the owner and his trusty [or not so] tube of hylomar, the big end oilways were blocked on three journals.
  13. daimler [supposedly the first true car maker]
  14. It should have a model number on it somewhere, probably a I or II, so HKS EVC II. You can get the manuals for it off www.hksusa.com [i think thats the right addy]. Also http://www.racecarnewmedia.co.uk/hks/ in europe. Plus there are a few other sites as well.
  15. The pen is mightier than the sword, but its very hard to see the red dot on your forehead from a .50 cal sniper rifle
  16. Automatics and DSG may shift faster and easier, but you can't take the gayness out of that exhaust note/sound they make when they do shift. Good article btw.
  17. My R33 started sniffing the powder, then it was doing lines, but none of that was good enough, lately its been speedballing. Now it is hooked. I used to have a 46" LCD TV, a full surround sound system, the works.................all gone, and my car has taken to hanging around the mall and the railway station. I'm worried that it will get done for possession.................... I was going to book it in to a Betty Ford Clinic, only because there is no Betty Nissan one???
  18. Thanks Cubes, I'll get it hot and change the oil, probably due anyway. I guess Bumblebee was right as well. But, it did it from when I brought it, so the oil in it from japan was no good either? And it doesn't chatter too much, but you can feel it. As I said, I'm happy with it, it locks up and drives great when needed. It also helps in a strange way when you power on through corners etc, makes the car feel very predictable.
  19. Yeah, what I found was that you could do something to it and make it a 1.5 or a 2. From what I understand, you could do this any time you wanted [as long as you have a hoist and spare couple of hours]. But it didn't say what it was you did, maybe reversed a plate or something - not that important anyway, cos I'm happy with it as it is, so I'll leave it. Thanks for the links. I'll go have a read now.
  20. Nope, redline, it has always done it, oil is fine, clunking and skipping or chatter is normal for a locker.
  21. When I got my R33, it came with a heap of std bits and peices [which I sold off]. One of the boxes was for a Nismo Selective LSD Part No. 38420-RS200 [i kept the box]. 1. What I want to know, is this a 1.5 or 2 way diff centre? [What I read on the www was some Nismo units could be either depending on how you set them up]. 2. Is it a mechanical diff? 3. How tough is it? All I know is that it hasn't broken yet, it loads up both wheels every time [corners and acceleration], it clunks and skips in corners, and when you have it on the hoist and spin the back wheels, they both rotate in the same direction. If anyone can info me up or give me a link I'd appreciate it. I basically want to know what I have.
  22. Bigger injectors would help
