  1. As above, they use electrospark erode. But if thats not an option, try welding a nut to the stud stub and then get into it while its still hot. Usually the combo of a nut welded on [good leverage] and the heat loosens thwe stud.

  3. And there you go, I thought about loctite and decided to go the other way. I used nickelcote. My thoughts were if these bust, I want to be able to get them out. My understanding is that they don't work loose [but you have to check them as the gasket/manifold settles in], if anything, they snap off. Note however that I had none snapped, they all came out without any problems, they all looked in very good condition, but I replaced them anyway. My car has 62k on it, but like many the mileage can be questioned [although I gotta say it certainly looks like sfa]. And I used genuine nissan parts, inc. gasket. Guess I'll see what the results are down the track. PS I didn't have a problem, I'm just changing manifolds and turbo's etc. PPS Jeez I hate doing something against SK's advise, makes me think I've got it wrong!!!

  5. I like that^^ Nah! I was actually thinking of B O G A N, prolly more my style!!! [Once I loose my two front teeth, take up chain smoking, and learn how to line up for my 'pay' at the APO every thursday fortnight].
  6. Yes, no messy fibres or dust. Thinking as I go here, you could use something like 4mm plastic hose though, the kind they use for drip lines in gardens etc. Not as messy then?? But I'd go compressed air still.
  7. I'm after a business that has cast brass/bronze metal letters [letters, not numbers]. Prefer 150-200mm high ones and not the $100 per letter ones that some places are quoting. It'd cost me +$1,000 for a sign with those robbers. I would be better off cutting them out of plate myself. But being a lazy bugger, I'll see if anyone can sell them to me first. I've seen them in hardware shops and the like, but do you think I can find them now that I want them..................nnnooo!!! So if anyone knows of a supplier/maker, please let me know.
  8. Be conservative, reset your pfc rpm limit until you can afford bigger injectors, should work?
  9. I assume you are using compressed air to keep the valves closed/up????
  10. Sounds good, can anyone pick me up? My car is undergoing a turbo UG [still waiting on parts from HKS]. PS This is a joke.....................I live in a place far far away, but I might come on the bike anyway.

  13. They used to do one at a time it with a modified spark plug and an air compressor. Bore out the spark plug and braze in an air hose fitting. Attach the hose and away you go, 70-150 psi [depending on your comp size]. Not sure how you'd do it on a skyline, but on motorbikes you'd make up a tool that bolted to the camshaft journal/split mount holes and compress the springs, similar to the bucket and shim adjustment tool. The valves would stay closed from the air compressor. I've seen the home made tooling, I've never seen it done.

  15. I wasn't saying not to buy a boost controller. The pfc one is OK, but basic, you would better with a dedicated evc no arguments from me there. What I was saying is that an AVCR is a boost controller plus a boost response controller. This is also done and done much better by a pfc. If you aren't getting a pfc then its no problem = spend an extra $200 and get the AVCR. If your plans include a pfc then get a $400 boost controller and put the $200 you save towards your pfc. 16. I use mine to leave the air con on without the keys when I duck into the pizza shop for my order................lol. Park it out front where you can see it, set the timer to 9 minutes, take the key out, lock it up and walk in.
