  1. Your kiddin'..........right!! Cams are good, tune was bad.
  2. Sorry my slow brain........comp coating??? Please explain?? Thanks Adriano
  3. God this is an old old old thread, I'm way over that, but..........I really haven't tackled it either. I got an offer for the turbo that I couldn't refuse, I've now got a Hks cast low mount at UAS being extrude honed, I brought a Garrett GT3076 WG off Slide sitting right here next to my computer, I'm about to buy a Hks 40mm external wastegate, and I'm waiting on Lincorp to send me my manifold gasket set which I've paid for [Oh and I replaced my Walbro with a Nismo fuel pump]. Doing all this at home, intend to make my own s/s dump and intake pipes although I have sort of cheated and brought a s/s 3" split dump that I intend to cut and shunt to fit my vehicle. This was about the same as buying bends and pipe etc in price and I get a head start. Once I've got it happening, I'll probably carefully drive 200km to my mechanic and get a dyno tune [i'm in the country, part of the reason for being self reliant and 100% the reason for driving 200km].
  4. I do the same thin, but I drill one of the nuts out, remove the thread, when you do this make sure the hole is just big enough, cos then you can tap it onto the stud with a hammer. This way you don't have to hold it there when you weld it on.
  5. Better check on that, a certain business that is well known and respected told me it was all a waste of time and that it all comes off soon anyway. I'm getting my manifold extrude honed and wanted to coat it as well, but have now gone right off the idea. Think I might wrap it instead? Wheezy I'll PM you which business.
  6. You know about this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=38857&hl= could be helpful but it is for an RB20.
  7. Go to horsepowerinabox, about $200.
  8. bd4's are the hks agents, might have to order one though? Otherwise horsepowerfreaks had springs on their web site [i think, but check] but they are in the USA. Also: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-40MM-10...sspagenameZWD1V
  9. Your not upset, your just trying to find a way to skite about being in NZ, 'The Land of the Wrong White Crowd'
  10. Won't hurt me, I did say 'your nuts'......so I'm fine.
  11. Theres also a special tool called a welder......lol Just weld your nuts to the studs, usually the residual heat will help with getting the stud out. PS Use gallons of WD40/CRC, like Manwhore says you DON'T want to bust one.....GL
  12. Or you could cut your own out, they are only tin/thin metal, easily made.
  13. Actually, if you can get Ralph Fiennes in your flight, and then he gets to bang the air hostess, most of the weight will move to the back of the plane [including Ralph and his load]. This means that the plane's nose will rise so there is less chance of a crash landing. This doesn't mean that there won't be any mid air disasters though.........one satisfied air hostess is not really a large enough sample to support such a theory with statistics!!
  14. How durable is it? I could use it for my ute, stop my dog wearing the paintwork out on the corners, where he leans around.
  15. Will this stop 'deep plane thrombosis' on the longer flights?
  16. So you made up an adaptor?
  17. I've never seen it/him either, but there is a sort of a clue in the name ACTLUDA, try reading it backwards, somebody is playing games, AO ones at that.
  18. Wheezy, I'm in the same boat. I was under the impression you could rotate the exhaust and intake housing as much as you needed, no worries, but I'd also like to get confirmation of this. I also read somewhere on SAU that the oil drain should be as near to perpendicular as possible. Did you have to use a spacer? What wastegate are you going with? [see my other thread].
  19. Thanks BHDave, you know, I've cruised the net ad nausem looking for a Hks std 40mm unit, but they are hard to come by and when you do, very expensive [compared to other makes]. They have the reputation of being an excellent product, but so do Tial and Turbosmart etc. So I'm just assessing my options and checking how far my project $$$ will stretch. Thanks for the pics as well, very helpful.
  20. Adriano, why does it have to be at an angle, is this to clear the twin turbo set up of a GTR? I thought [probably wrongly] that with the adaptor plate supplied with the Hks/JJR type unit that it would bolt straight on [for a single turbo gtst]. Interesting. I will have scour the web for some pics of the adaptor etc. Anyone using something other than a Hks or Hks style?
  21. See Beau ^^^^^^^^Jason PS Wasn't Jason the main man in Halloween or Friday 13th?
  22. If you have a Hks cast low mount manifold I want to know what wastegate you are using and how did you mount it? I was thinking of going with the Hks std 40mm, but they want +$700 for a new one [and $400 for a questionable quality s/h one] and a tial/turbosmart costs $400. But other wastegates don't mount up like the Hks one would. I was thinking of chopping up a bit of 10-13mm plate for the manifold and then centreing a 40mm hole and tapping thread into mounting holes either side, but I'm not sure of airflow to and through the wastegate. It would be cheaper [bit of frigging around for me, but I work cheap on my car], but it could impact on performance? Has anyone else done anything similar? Another solution is the plethoria of chinese? copies of the hks unit that are on ebay and/or Just Jap/option1garage/driftbits etc etc - I think I will stay away - but has anybody had any experience with them? Usually dubbed the Hks style!
  23. Have a go ya mug!!! Actually to tell the truth, mine was held on with the hose clamps that you pinch together with a set of long handled pointy pliers [$10 at Crazy Joes or Micks or somesuch]. The hose was a bit stuck, so I used a long thin screwdriver to work under between the hose and the metal pipe and some WD40 and it came out easy. Don't ask me how to put it back on, I haven't got that far yet..........lol. PS I don't have a valley cover. that probably made it easier. Actually I found the bolts that screw into the block that hold the stays on this hose harder to get off than the hose.
  24. Your socks smell!! Anyway what would you do with socks..........they don't go with thongs!!!
  25. Must be that bad batch of eccies!! I feel like I'm reading a book with every second and third page missing. (But now at least I know that Jason is a bad man).
