The actuator is the round half beer can shaped goldie coloured metal canister just above your turbo {I'll try to find a pic and show you}. It has an arm coming out the back of it that controls your wastegate. What Glen means is that your AVCR is your boost controller and its not get the boost readings. In the engine bay there should be a part of the AVCR that has little 6mm rubber hoses coming out of it. One of these hoses will be hanging loose, you need to plug it back into your actuator. It will have a nipple coming off it for a hose to push over. Atm your AVCR is not reading boost, it is reading atmosphere. Of cause this is only any good to you if that is the problem, and I don't know why Glen did not fix it for you on the spot, it is a 30 second job.

Unity is a big thing though!!!! A turbo made up of parts.......sometimes the sum of the parts does not reach the prophesised total.

Is trooper running cams? Type?? Just interested in where the revs/threshold would be with/without cams.

The only thing you have to worry about is that an exhaust leak............any exhaust leak is an erosive thing. If you drive it too much and don't get it fixed those hot exhaust gases start cutting a channel in the metal. If let go too long it could need welding up the channel plus resurfacing. The speed that this happens depends on the size of the leak, where the leak is positioned, how hard the motor is used, and the number of kilometres it is used for.

And it'll be goodbye for the previous owner, you'll maybe be bidding against him??? I know a fella that had his 4wd confiscated because he was a keen gardener. He went and brought it back when it came up for auction [then he did 12 months in a holiday camp, so the timing was ideal for him, he managed to get his vehicle back before he went 'on holidays']

Have you tried any truck places - a Denco diesel or suchlike. They deal with turbo's all the time.

Think I found it!! Second row, fourth from the top.

GT3040's work better on a 25, they work best on a 30. Would not be my choice for a 20. Even a GT3076 is a bit too big, GT3071 would be best. Slide sells 3040's for under the $1700 mark, so depending on age and use etc you should be looking at around the $1k mark.

If you could put the soon to be released garrett 52 trim compressor on the .73 rear housing...........interesting.

If there is enough stud sticking out, you can weld a nut onto it and then undo it ....another option.
