Anyone Looking For A Career
tridentt150v replied to tridentt150v's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Gus what you do in the privacy of your own home wiff yo mummy is no business of mine.........lol Basically measure water quality and quantity in the southern part [but not limited to] of the state. Plus you get the usual salary entitlement expenses untaxed and over and above your salary for every day you are on the road approx. $160/day country, $220 cap. city. Progression to $90k is possible, sick leave, holidays, leave loading, flex time, long service, 7hr day, superannuation etc etc. the usual public servant stuff. -
Go here: https://jobs.nsw.gov.au/JobDetails.asp?JobAdvertId=54895 great job if you like the lifestyle, downside is its in Deniliquin [but you have an opportunity to move around the state after say 12 months or so]. I wouldn't normally do this, but its what I do, and its in my dept. Plus I'd hate for anyone that really wants it to miss out.

I was sitting inside last night and my eyes were stinging from the smoke. We had to close up the house. And its worse outside!!

Yes, the alpine region of Vic fires are huge, I don't envy any of the poor bastards that live or are fighting them there. We had smoke from those fires a couple of days before we had our own fire and ...........wait for it............started by a camp fire!!!! What moron would light a camp fire when the year is like this!!!! PS our fire is nowhere near as big as the Vic one/s. But it is a lot closer and growing with every tick of the clock.
-
Smoke so thick over here, visibility is down to hundreds of metres. Very hard to breathe, a blanket of ash [not burning embers] falling everywhere. I was told that the fire had burnt out 2500ha up until yesterday, it had burnt out 5000ha by early this morning. Rugged country, pine and natural timber, very gusty winds, I don't think they will be able to contain it. So far no lives or houses lost ifaik. We are not under threat, it is supposed to be going away from us. But it looks grim, and the way the bush is - being so dry and all - I reckon it might be anywhere by tomorrow or the day after, even in Canberra.

jeez how i hate yus all!!!! Wish I could have been there [holds box of tissues and sniffles].

What really gets up my nose is that the same f*cking organisation can find time to bust you for doing 10k over the limit, but can't find the time to come out and do some REAL police work. As Gus said, we are treated like the crims all because we upset the cops comfort zone. I could go on and on but it would only be seen as a cop hate diatribe [as opposed to the truth about under performance and lack of service]. BTW Sorry to here Skylvia, I guess you were lucky in a way, damage was minimal.

Fuel Pump Uprgades For R33gts25t ?
tridentt150v replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I did the same thing, but got a nismo in tank pump (from nengun). It comes already fitted on a bracket etc, it was just plug and play really. Just slide the old one out and slide the new one in. I had fitted a walbro but when everyone started bagging them I thought I'd upgrade. -
wear kimbies!!!

Oil restrictors are for bearing turbo's, they are removed for journal turbo's. Its not your problem. White smoke=water black smoke=fuel blue smoke=oil. If its white you've got water problems. But as Cubes said otherwise.

Impressive, i don't normally buy shares but............

I seem to remember that CRC makes a belt pulley spray. This adds grip to the belt and pulley. I'd apply correct tension to the belt first, but if it doesn't help then I'd use the CRC. If that doesn't work then new belts, an easy job all round really. On a side note, the old hagon bench saws that used to use the PTO on a tractor had huge belts 5-10 metres long and 0.2-0.3 metres wide. When they slipped the woodcutter used molasses to reset the grip!! So I'd reckon any heavy sugary mix would probably work as well.

Cam Gear Questions (no00ob Question)
tridentt150v replied to steveo_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I also doubt you will get any value out of a cam pulley without an aftermarket ecu/pfc. You can throw $$$$ at it and it likely won't do squat unless you can tune for it, and for that you need a pfc/haltech/wolf etc. -
I've got a std cam pulley wheel if thats any good? pm me

I had some work done there, I did a fair amount of the work myself last time {Mr X allowed me to do this which I appreciated, he coached me}. The last time I was there we put in tomei cams and then had it dyno'd, but Mr X had set the exhaust cam to -5 deg. and it should have been at 0 for a gtst [he is used to working on GTR's more]. I drove home 200 km with 20 less rwkw than I drove over with. I found this fact out on the SAU forums later. I ended up resetting the cam wheel to 0 myself, then I reset my evc and it all seemed pretty good [another dyno was still needed to finish it off], definitely had more power. For this work I basically only paid for the dyno time at Autotech and a prorata labour amount. Much less than I would have paid. The things I noticed: Heaps of parts and muffler etc inside Sins car on the interior = dirt and grease. Mr X is constantly being hammered by the phone, his personal life problems, other mechanics, and other customers. His concentration and ability to focus on the job at hand [the one he is being paid for] is compromised. I had my car booked in for the day [because I have to travel to get there], and expected the whole day to be spent on my car until it was completed. This did not happen on any visit. I'd get there at 800hrs, they'd turn up after 9 [i was told to be there at that time each time I went]. They'd frig around moving vehicles, and doing rego checks etc. They'd start on my car after about 10. Then it would be all day - but with all previously mentioned interruptions etc phone, walk in customers, etc. The mechanics get in and out of cars with dirty greasy boots, overalls, and hands [my car is bloody pristine inside, I don't need any texas gold inside on the carpet or seat]. Was I happy??? Well the work was done, the service was average, the results were patchy, the promises were to do better next visit, the atmosphere was most congenial and he did let me work on my car. I can say that I was reasonably satisfied, BUT I would never ever leave my car there and come back and pick it up. They just don't have any respect for other peoples property - all cars are treated the same, good ones, and rust buckets alike.

Project : Gt3071r In Progress...
tridentt150v replied to Nabil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The oil line comes out lower down and at the side of the block for mine ['98 rb25], did this change? Was it different for earlier models? The photo shows the oil line coming from the back of the block? Just curious........it could just be in the rotation of the housing etc -
