  1. Yes, I was wondering that as well, I am looking at buying a hks cast manifold low mount, but then started wondering if I extrude honed my std one would that do a similar job for half the cost? I may even do both ie buy the hks unit and then get it extrude honed.
  2. Depends, are your lines hoses/braided etc or std steel pipes. if steel pipes, no chance, if hoses then I'd reckon it could be done, I'd lower the turbo down and out of the way then it would be easy.
  3. probably work Ok, but it'll cost you shit loads of $$$ for the ventolin puffers.......lol It'd be asthmatic. Let me know when your in the market for some other 'bargains', I reckon I've got a shed full!
  4. That number is only for the compressor. If you look at turbobygarrett.com they have it: Compressor = 700382-12 CHRA = 700177-7 and you have 700177-5007 which could be a variant. Turbine = any of three to choose from, but the 0.82 a/r 60mm wheel, 84 trim is 740902-2. My understanding of it is that there is no such thing as a complete turbocharger number. I'd like to here otherwise, and Mafia I'll PM you about ordering and who your going to purchase from.
  5. So the turbine/exhaust housing required is the 740902-2 with IW Correct???.
  6. 12 gauge: pump sawn off horse pistol All dash mounted. Then it really doesn't matter how you pimp your ride, nobodies gunna notice.
  7. Anyone?
  8. I weld a nut onto the end. Just drill the thread out of a nut, tap fit it over the exposed stud, weld it up, and then undo. The heat from welding often helps loosen the stud as well.

  10. discopotato, You have quoted them before, what are the CHRA numbers for the GT3076R IW, I promise to pay attention this time!
  11. As the title says, I want to buy a Hks cast exhaust manifold for my '98 R33, new or used.
  12. Define fancy food??? Is this like VB or Tooheys Old?? Arrgghhh no that would be classed as drinks........fancy food??, is this a Canberra thing??? I'll have to come now.......just to watch and learn what fancy food is and how to eat it!!!
  13. Half a can!!!!!!!!! You got problems, I wonder if somebody installed an incorrect [or installed it in reverse] head gasket or something, it sounds like your flooding your head/rockers with oil and its not getting back to the sump quick enough. Something is stopping it draining/flowing back. I don't go with the blown motor theory, you would definitely know if it was blown that bad. Take it for a drive and then look in your rocker oil cap and see if its swimming in oil or just wet??
  14. Neither is austinetic stainless!! [martinetic stainless is though]
  15. This might help: Grepin, You also had a 0.87 rear housing for the HKS2835proS, did you trial it? If so what was the reason that you went with the 0.68 one instead? I would have thought that the 0.87 rear would have provided more power - easier breathing than the 0.68, but I see you are selling the 0.87. Interested to hear your findings. Ans reply: Basically as I am pushing over 20 psi and making 300rwkw the turbo cant hold boost up top. I thought the larger ar housing might help but still dropped boost. Yes it did give me an extra 15 rwkw with a little loss mid range. I find the car too much of a weapon to drive at 320rwkw. I had to decide which housing to sell and considering I prefer circuit type driving I decided the larger housing. Especially since our drag strip is down.
  16. Pretty sure its all OK, just checking, I want to low mount a garrett GT3076R IW [gt30r] on a s/s manifold. Is there any issues with clearance, any mods to make? I am assuming not, its a straight bolt on, but would like confirmation.
  17. ask grepin on SAU, he is the only one I know that has tried both.
  18. I had the walbro 255 l/h one, can't remember the serial numbers etc.
  19. I ran a walbro at 240rwkw and 16psi no problems on a hiflow turbo and 555 injectors, pump handled it all fine. Yes, i've since sold and installed another brand, but I'm setting up for 270-300rwkw, thats a fair difference.
  20. Hey, Go here: http://www.carbra.com.au/ The car bra is tops, the ppl selling it are absolutely brilliant, couldn't recommend them more highly. I sent my new car bra back 4 times for alterations and they didn't charge me a zac, not even postage. The over all cost was $400 + $40 for having GTST embroidered on the front. {Not shown in the pic, on my new car bra, pic shown is 4 years old, I replaced this bra cos I bottomed out on a gutter and there wasn't enough race tape in the world to fix it.} I live in country NSW, bugs, locusts, gravel, dust, sand so a car bra was essential for me.
  21. My apologies to wolverine, he was caught up as an innocent bystander, what he says is true. Moderators edited this thread when NIZ-26T and myself escalated a bit of spirited bargaining and we probably shouldn't have. Just one of those things..........
  22. And to add to my previous diatribe: Two stroke engines have no torque [its argueable but generally agreed]. Turbos add torque to a motor in big gobs when they are boosting. Think about a long stroke motor, it revs slower, but compresses a lot more volume [swept volume is usually greater], then when the bang comes it pushes against a much smaller cross sectional area because the piston/bore is smaller, the motor is 'undersquare'. A turbo on a motor tricks the engine [tricks isn't the right word but it'll do] into acting like its compressed more volume because its added volume that is pumped in rather than drawn in. A short stroke motor has less swept area, so it compresses a smaller amount of volume [this doesn't affect its compression ratio, it can still be as high as a long stroke and is usually higher]. And the energy from the bang is transferred to the piston crown over a wider area. Probably boring to many, and apologies for the OT hijack.
  23. Arrgghh the much talked about fabled R32 graveyard where all R32's go when their time is nigh!!! Won't be long and they'll be stacked 10 high... Any elephants nearby??? And yeah, ar$eh0les, hope they rot in hell [i hate car thieves].
