  1. 2 seater limits its market, they need to consider a 4 seater.
  2. I've already got a mortgage, so I can't see them getting that sort of $$$ out of me!!
  3. Its on atpturbo front page
  4. It depends on what your intentions are for the future. If your happy, leave it, if you intend modding the motor then an aftermarket ecu is essential. Pfc's aren't the only game in town [motec, wolf, haltek etc]. But they are probably the most familiar. Looking at the mods you have at the moment, I'd probably be doing a few other things to take advantage of a good pfc = fuel pump, injectors, turbo upgrade, boost controller etc and I've probably missed a couple of things. You need a pfc to be able to use these mods, you need these mods to get the use out of a pfc.
  5. Dangerman....just as an aside, what power did you make out of your old turbo set up? Just looking at bang for bucks.
  6. Check the numbers against the Tomei website recommendations, they are the correct ones. I've got these in my '98 R33. http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...shaft_rset.html
  7. I custom mounted an Odessey [orange] battery. Bloody exe though [the battery]!!!
  8. So who would you recommend for custom split dump and intake?
  9. Does anyone work in stainless steel?? PS Sorry bout the late reply, been away with work. And thanks ppl for the input..............
  10. southern NSW PS I'm out on fieldwork this week, but will check back on friday.
  11. I'm thinking of getting some work done on my car. I'm buying a garrett GT3040 and need custom intake, and split dump front pipe in stainless steel. I would like some advice on who can transport the car, and who would be best to do the work. I was thinking that [since I was going to buy the turbo off him] Slide could do the work - if I'm going to load the car whether I transport it to Sydney or GCoast is a flip of the coin. If I could get the turbo at a similar price elsewhere and then pipework - I'd listen. I can't drive it anywhere, I've sold my turbo!!! Another alternative is if somebody is already doing this work and I piggyback and have two systems made. But thats a long shot. Help needed.
  12. I'd check out what Slide has to offer as well, garrett has just updated their turbo line up, you could get a GT3076 for under $2000.
  13. Get it checked at your mechanics, they can check flow and pressure.
  14. I hear what your sayin' Sly33. And I agree with you that the 2835proS would be a good choice, but also [as you repeat] I would have no head room for any possible future development. One thing that does appeal is that the 2835proS would not be a lag monster, everything owners have told me is that its a responsive powerful choice. The GT30R and the GT3040 - although more powerful - would not be as responsive, they have to have more lag. I have yet to decide....
  15. Is there anyone in Canberra that does custom pipe work. I'm thinking of getting a garrett 30 series and need a 4 inch/100mm intake pipe, and long split dump system. I can trailer the car to canberra, but if I have to go to sydney I'll have to use a transporter.
  16. The 30R is bigger. 3071 450hp 3076/30R 500 3040 600 Or so I'm told! Al_R33, what piping are you using, for dump and intake?
  17. I don't know, GCG didn't say what they were using, and Friday 5.00 came too soon. I can ask on Monday. All I was told is 84 exhaust wheel.
  18. No, they are offering a GT3071R with a custom turbine ie they replace the T28 with a T3, it is internally wastegated. It is a very new offering and not listed on their catalogue, I asked why I couldn't see it on their site as well and that was the reply. But overall I think it will be too small for me anyway, so have gone off the idea. going to have a yarn to Slide first and see what he can do..........[its only money, haven't touched 2009's wages yet..lol]
  19. I'll take them. No problems. Please PM me your bank details and I'll pay for the mats and postage.
  20. Yes, I've looked at the Gt3076, I reckon it would be a better bet. If I got it with a T3 and a good exhaust turbine combo it would be close as. If you read the first post, I state that the GT3071R is an internal. I really don't want to go to external, I believe that I can get everything I want out of a good internal wastegate. And just to set the record straight don't want 300rwkw, but I want my turbo to be capable of it if I ever do want to. I am really only looking at around 270-280, the motor is untouched except for cams.
  21. If you do use loctite, you have to get the green Ultra high temp stuff, anything else just gets burnt away. I actually prefer tab washers.
  22. Thats what I thought, but its like they are saying no it won't/yes it will. On one hand they put out a 450hp figure, and on the other they say it is the direct equivalent of the 2835proS? Ambivalent messages methinks!!!
  23. I am in the market for a new turbo for my RB25 ERC33, I had reason to ring GCG and while talking to their Sales Manager, Mark Landell, he mentioned that they can provide me with the internal wastegate Garrett GT3071R with a custom T3 turbine set up [they come out with a T28 std]. He reckoned this set up is a easy install bolt on equivalent of the HKS 2835proS. Now I’m not knocking GCG, they have an enviable reputation and I've only got good things to say about they myself, and Mark is very likely a good man and knows his stuff. But he was a bit reserved when it came to talking up this turbo’s performance and likely power output. He reckoned 250rwkw was a good starting point and that maybe a bit more. This sort of threw me because the HKS 2835proS has figures quoted more like 300rwkw. And I’m already making 240rwkw with the turbo I’ve got, so I really want to upgrade, not move sideways. I just wanted to see what everyone thought? I know discopotato has written some stuff on the 3071 external wastegate and is keen on an internal version, but is what GCG offering just such an animal, or is it something else/less. The turbo GCG are selling has a 0.50 compressor cover, a 56 compressor wheel trim, and an 84 exhaust wheel trim and is rated at 450hp, but because it is new on the market, they really had no installed real time power output figure.
