  1. Thats what I thought, but its like they are saying no it won't/yes it will. On one hand they put out a 450hp figure, and on the other they say it is the direct equivalent of the 2835proS? Ambivalent messages methinks!!!
  2. I am in the market for a new turbo for my RB25 ERC33, I had reason to ring GCG and while talking to their Sales Manager, Mark Landell, he mentioned that they can provide me with the internal wastegate Garrett GT3071R with a custom T3 turbine set up [they come out with a T28 std]. He reckoned this set up is a easy install bolt on equivalent of the HKS 2835proS. Now I’m not knocking GCG, they have an enviable reputation and I've only got good things to say about they myself, and Mark is very likely a good man and knows his stuff. But he was a bit reserved when it came to talking up this turbo’s performance and likely power output. He reckoned 250rwkw was a good starting point and that maybe a bit more. This sort of threw me because the HKS 2835proS has figures quoted more like 300rwkw. And I’m already making 240rwkw with the turbo I’ve got, so I really want to upgrade, not move sideways. I just wanted to see what everyone thought? I know discopotato has written some stuff on the 3071 external wastegate and is keen on an internal version, but is what GCG offering just such an animal, or is it something else/less. The turbo GCG are selling has a 0.50 compressor cover, a 56 compressor wheel trim, and an 84 exhaust wheel trim and is rated at 450hp, but because it is new on the market, they really had no installed real time power output figure.
  3. brake cleaner/video head cleaner/carb cleaner - I use carb cleaner.
  4. Take the dash out and check the connections, sounds like a dodgy connection to me. A simple fix, about 2 hours to clean up and reinstall. I installed my nismo speedo, and then cleaned up about 2 gallons of soy sauce that had been spilt in the dash by the yaccuza, or Hiko's Teryaki Takeaway and Pizzeria. It was dried up, but everywhere behind the dash. Your car could have been in the same industry........ And before you all go making Tokyo reservations for your intimate evening, I made up the restaurant name.............lol
  5. They reckon you should use a product called 'sikaflex', its made for sealing around fuel.
  6. As you wind down your suspension you will 'squat' the car. This means that the inside of your tyres will be the main load bearing contact point. ie your camber is changed. The insides of your tyres will scrub out. The amount of camber you end up with depends on the amount of adjustment you dialed in. Your tyres are not moving in a straight line, they are on an arc [imagine you remove your suspension and then pick the car up and the wheels dangle, they swing down and the tops hang out and the bottoms swing in]. The back tyres are less affected because they are on a full axle. So any adjustments you make are movements about an arc. Or thats my understanding of it anyway. Somebody else may be able to add more!
  7. PM sent, looks like I can't use it, sorry to jerk you around mate.
  8. You don't really............well you can if you know what your doing. For ride height: You have to remove your wheel, have two 'C' spanners handy and then adjust away turning the big rings at the bottom of your spring. After this you'll need a wheel alignment. So I would go to one of the afore mentioned suspension shops and let them do it all. For ride dampening: If you have damping adjustment [a click turn adjuster in the centre at the top of your shockie] then you can dial in anything from hard to softer. Upmarket models have this, the not so upmaket ones have no adjustment, the damping is fixed. Then there are extreme upmarket ones that don't believe you need any of it because their product is used by God.
  9. I'm lacking a good turbo [working on the turbo angle atm] and some suspension mods, looking at 260-280, I'll never get to 300 with this car! My main mod is to replace my car with a SIII R33, but that'll never happen either - real estate takes all........
  10. As far as I know different manufacturers use different colour codes. And they sometimes change them with new models etc Then you can take an injector and have it hiflowed!!! If they aren't at full duty cycle I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. I reckon black is the go...........everyone knows white cars can't jump!!!
  12. Good meaty result though, fat curve from low down, excellent spread of power, ya gotta be happy with that!!
  13. "White: Status-seeking extroverts. " 3/4 of all the cars on the road are white.............so what does this mean about society???? [Mines black, rebel, accident, etc]
  14. Good figure, i made 242 on autotech at fyshwick with my hiflow garrett ??something?? turbo. So I know what sort of fun you are having at the moment. And yes your mix is lean, i think the worrying thing about that is its lean from the get go. Generally they start out OK and then lean off as revs/power increases near the top. Do the changes you intend, I'd also think about injectors. What was the duty cycle like? Std ones would be close to maxed out wouldn't they.
  15. Funny, you know I was on the HKS website and didn't see it, got it off a Taiwanese web address. I probably should have looked harder......... And yeah it is a bit generic, only compares families/series, but what the heck.
  16. Hope this hasn't been posted before?
  17. I'll be thinking of you birthday boy, also thinking of the hangover man next morning........lol
  18. So you've got one??? But your telling ppl to "do as I say not as I do!!!"....................lol
  19. Didn't late SII's have steel wheels?? or am I dreaming?
