  1. OOOOHHHHH NNNOOO,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's not right, my car only had 40,000km on it................................lol It could have been, or maybe they changed specs. I've got a '98 R33 40th, the last of them, they were virtually making the R34 next to them [figure of speech]. I really don't know, I only know what I have seen on mine, and assumed other late model R33's had the same.
  2. Talk to Brett at GCG, I was quoted $1950, actual cost $1169.40 including postage and insurance [which I requested]. I removed and replaced the turbo myself, you also have to replace the coolant, and oil + filter, so add $100.
  3. If yr looking for someone to check out a car you intend to purchase, and you don't know who to get, NRMA will do it. Also look in the Trading Post, heaps of mechanics advertise this service in there. Hope this helps............
  4. Had several pm's, am talking to prospective buyer now, will keep you all in loop until wheel is confirmed sold. Thanks everyone for interest.
  5. Momo Race steering wheel [no boss kit] with SAAS horn button. Poly grip, good condition. $50 plus postage.
  6. Late model S2 came with steel front and back std, I know, I just had mine out. I have pics. As for ball vs bush, I was only repeating what I was told, I could have been wrongly informed.
  7. OOhhhhhhhh I don't know, I think SK should charge for his advise............... Simple yes /no question ----------- 6 pack Some advise ------------------------- slab Follow up advise -------------------- Grandfather Port Complex question ------------------- Rare Breed Wild the sphincter of the universe Follow up for complex question -- Glenfiddich Scotch. I would like to vote for 'me' as his agent on 10% commission. He could give advise evry day except Thursday's thats AA meeting day. Seriously though, I would owe him a Liqourland store just on my own for the advice he has freely given me. I owe him heaps. Thanks SK.
  8. Black, Advan Super Racing three spoke, running 245 front and 255 rear Yokohama AVS 102's, work just jim dandy. There is only one colour in the known universe = black, all other perceived colours are just shades of black.
  9. BB=bush bearing, not ball............I think R34's are ball. Also early r33's were ceramic vanes, later ones were steel, R34 are plastic [or so i've read]. Steel is best, plastic next, they say ceramic tend to break after a while. You can send the turbo to GCG in Condell Park Sydney and they will convert it to ball bearing and hiflow it for $1200 to $1900.
  10. Thanks for trying, sorry it didn't work out, realise it was beyond your control.
  11. Not yr turbo spooling???
  12. Yeah, talk to Brett at Condell Park. Quoted over the phone $1950. Charged all up $1,169.40, I was pleasantly surprised. I took it out and posted it with $1,000 insurance, and requested $2000 insurance return. Took about 10 days from the time the car stopped till the time I reinstalled it and the car started. But you could easily get that to 7-8 days with couriers etc.
  13. You can check the low comp piston a bit further: Dry and no compression=rings broken/gone, hole in piston, gudgeon pin circlip failed and badly scoured bore,or valves/guides Squirt of oil in bore and no compression=hole in piston, gudgeon pin circlip failed and badly scoured bore,or valves/guides Dry and some compression=rings, gudgeon pin circlip failed and lightly scoured bore,or valves/guides Squirt of oil in bore and some compression=valves/guides This is a general guide only, and ,no, i haven't covered all possibilities, just the main ones.
  14. Had mine hiflowed, for $1200 approx., except for a 'questionable quality' std turbo that may be no better than the one you took out, I don't think you could do any better pricewise. You can easily remove and reinstall yourself, and the turnaround is only 3-5 days.
  15. Missed me by days, just got mine from nengun, bugger............... Your price is gooda too........... And a free bump
  16. Bow, scrape and grovel at the base of the 'Holts vinyl paint in a pressure pack' sacrificial dias. Bet you got that idea off Burkes Back Yard or Renovation Rescue.............lol. Actually it looks quite clean and 'airey', a new lease of life for the line. But you'll never be a millionare if you keep spending $$$$ on Nippon's finest. By the way, how did you go with the 'tyre saga'??? Another happy ending I hope.
  17. My heart is numb, I know what it's like to loose someone in such circumstances, I knew them not, but I weep for the loss.
  18. Like the black, same bar as mine, looks like a '98. White looks more off white, not a bad colour though.
  19. Yeah, best I could do [with the image], had to sharpen it and remove noise as it was. If you save it, you can zoom in and it's a bit better. The printout is a grey print on white. The bush kit should do the trick, and according to SK it is the most preferable option. I don't think anybody have aligned the car in a long time.
  20. Ok here's my results, finally got an alignment. They recommend a top and bottom bush set for the rear, and just the one set for the front. They normally deal with Super Pro, but I asked them to get Whiteline [only heard good things about them, haven't heard of Super pro at all{they are probably good to}. They said no problems, Whiteline was OK.
  21. Go to 0.8mm, you could run 1.2bar=16psi for short runs with the mods you have. I was doing that with my stock turbo [not ceramic]. Is the ecu still std???, 180km limiter etc?
  22. By the way, I mounted my evc on the steering column, used a 'Verbatim' lid off a box of 1.44 floppies [right size, suitably shaped] and used wurths urethane [black sticky sh1t] to hold it down. Painted it all with holts satin black double sided tape [on before the paint] and it looks like a factory job. Photo coming. I'd like a high/low button on the steering wheel, but I'll get to that [along with the maxima cruise control------dreams I]. Just in case it's useful to anyone...........
  23. C'mon you Orange County dudes [actually Social Distortion make mention of the area on their live CD] and dudettes, don't give up that easily, argue for your cause!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got old dvd's of 910210/days of our lives/melrose place/home and away/ bold and the beautiful, to give away for the best retorte [watch 'em scramble for the computer now]. And a free box of kleenex and nail polish remover to the runner up........................
  24. No probs, its all good............... I get to canberra a bit [ask the others, skylinegal, Jayce, veilside, leech etc] must have missed you last time, but there will be another get together one day that I can make. Good luck with the evc, Jake [mitchell] is good at setting them up if the manual is too much. I set mine up, then [not being that sure] took it to him to confirm on the dyno etc.
  25. OK, how long do the polyurethane bushes last [as opposed to the arms=10,000km with care], and is cost comparible???
