Airbag light flashing and reset not working
tridentt150v replied to tridentt150v's topic in General Maintenance
OK, after much searching I have found an old thread that states 2.7 ohms. I will see how mine reacts to a general clean up and reset but if it keeps playing up I will have to invest in a new resistor...probably all of 50 cents, might have to take out a loan. -
R33 Gtst - AC noises every ~30 secs
tridentt150v replied to HCD_Velcra's topic in General Maintenance
I have this issue as well....its like a small sneeze. I have it on my Gtst AND my ford courier both. Had both vehicles to the aircon specialist here and he laughed but after taking the courier for a drive came back scratching his head. All gas pressures are fine, the condenser and all other parts are fine, everything tested perfect. He said drive it till it fails Well I have been driving both vehicles now for over 2 years and except for the sneeze...nothing...everything is working perfectly. More worried for the courier cos its a single belt, but so far so good. I am not sure if the engine stutters or not, I sometimes thing it does, and other times think it doesn't. I think its got something to do with the condenser cutting in and out and loading the engine - as opposed to a misfire. -
Airbag light flashing and reset not working
tridentt150v replied to tridentt150v's topic in General Maintenance
Can anyone tell me the resistor value for airbag cancellation, the one behind the steering wheel and horn button?? I get 2.3 ohms on the wire that has the resistor.....but don't know if this is a good or bad value. -
On another forum they are saying that if you use ~original at the end of the link then it works again Trent. I haven't tried it but several have vouched that it works. But Photobucket will probably end up closing that loophole eventually as well. On another forum that I frequent, Street Triple, I informed the admin guys of a workaround for the Photobucket ransom demand. The dodge was to place the string ~original after .jpg in the Photobucket URL. Using that, they were able to download all the pictures. They then modified all threads that used Photobucket links to point to the downloaded pictures that were now stored on their server. The resulting pictures are stored in a gallery, which is now used instead of Photobucket. Kudos to that site's admin people.

Old topic, but you should have warmed it up then tried. Use a heat gun on it [not oxy].

Airbag light flashing and reset not working

Oh and forgot to say....PFC so its not the computer. -
Airbag light flashing and reset not working Hi all, Ok my airbag light is flashing, I've tried the reset using the door light switch and 7 times within 5 seconds etc, and it does turn off [sometimes], but then comes back on 5-10 or 20 minutes later. Only maintenance I have done in the last few months is replace the water pump and belts etc....which has nothing to do with the airbag light. I will remove, check, clean and replace the steering wheel and I can probably check the airbag module connections under the centre console, but otherwise I'm stumped. Any suggestions???

Maybe, I didn't read it like that...but even so limited gains - probably zero - on a Gtst, maybe ok on a GTR :).

Battery acid / paint damage / Negative cable oxidised
tridentt150v replied to Little's topic in General Maintenance
If your tray is Ok and its just surface rust, I would go and buy some steel and brass brushes, plus some emery paper, and a brush for the 4" angle grinder and hit it hard. Then I would buy some rust convertor/removal, probably in the gel format for your job and apply it and let it eat the rust away then hose off and dry immediately. Get it nice and clean and dry!!! I would then apply rust resistant paint undercoat and cover it. What you use for a topcoat is up to you. While your at it, use the wire brushes, undo your earth strap and clean it up as well. When re installing don't paint it etc, just leave it bare, except for a spray of CRC yellow contact or a smear of dielectric grease or Vaseline. I personally wouldn't use a vented battery ever again. Sealed batteries all the way IMO. $900, you can do this for $200 and do a better job of it. You probably need to check the voltage and amperage output of your alternator...could be that your regulator isn't working and the battery is being overcharged??? -
idler wheel and tension wheel, but if you're getting a kit they should come with it.

Also....why would you need a tune after replacing it???? Hell No!!!! You aren't replacing/renewing anything that affects or changes the tune. Follow the guide and drive!!!

Where can I find quality 33 parts

Why not start by looking at the sponsored trade section on this forum in the For Sale section??? If they are good enough to be on here we should be patronising their business. -
bad uni joint can be added to the list.

Insurance for skyline
tridentt150v replied to Bob Virk's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have bomb insurance with AAMI...was with Just Cars but AAMI took over the policy. My Gtst is somewhat modified with bolt on stuff, but at the end of the day its only worth $10-15K. And they wanted $2K for full insurance over 15 years ago...so I figure I am ahead. But you need to have nil accidents and avoid slimy thieves for that to happen. -
Check the wires and plug going to the CAS, they get old and brittle. Just about have to handle with kid gloves these days.

My window smashed randomly, rubber seal ?
tridentt150v replied to Jap-daddy99's topic in General Maintenance
Get me pics, if its the part I am thinking of then its the same as I replaced on mine. Looks like its the frame and rubber sliders for the window to go up and down in at the front of the door???? They are a bit of a wiggle and pull to get out with the window still in the door but can be done. Removing the speaker and the rear view mirrors helps. The bracket that the mirror bolts on to is a part of the replacement kit anyway. You may as well do the rear view mirror mechanism/motor repair while you're at it. Save doing it later....lol I have NissanFAST so can give you the part numbers, but need to see a pic first. Don't want to give you the wrong numbers.- 4 replies

Selling my R33 Gtst for an Evo VIII. Wise move?
tridentt150v replied to Redknight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Your wastegate is stuck open.... -
LEDS are polarity sensitive....so reversing polarity on the plug will probably turn on the darkness switch. I agree with Duncan, if it was supposed to be plug n play then they are faulty. Take them back before you burn your car to the ground.

Drop in cams for Rb25det neo
tridentt150v replied to Nathanr34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
OK, I'll bite.......what other mods do you have to support such a change? Without a sh1tload of other stuff cams will do SFA. And also depends on the application.......284's might be too much unless you are hitting the rev limiter and racing? -
