  1. Dying fuel pump, open wastegate, stuck BOV, shite O2 sensor, handbrake...............name it!!!
  2. fuel surge? check your pump is ok? Or missing and an injector is not flowing like it should all the time, might be sticking.
  3. No work is ruling my life just for now.............but not much longer!!!
  4. Sorry Peter, the Phew was intended to say - at last you got somewhere, and what a long battle you had to do to get there!!! So now you can relax a bit and draw breath......its over. Admittedly the result was not ideal [in that you didn't get fully compensated], but it was a result at least. In an ideal world you would like to think that the business - and businesses like them - take note and apply a greater degree of due diligence in the future, but that - as I said - is an ideal world unfortunately.
  5. You need to take the AC/Alternator belts off then the harmonic balancer then you can check if your timing belt is lined up properly -as Kiwi stated see a tutorial. Alternatively you could remove the CAS and top cover only and check that the top marks and the timing mark on the balancer line up, but thats a quick and dirty. If you did your own belt then you would know this. If you didn't then its not a place to start learning mekanikin'. Get a mate who knows to coach you??? The actual electrical timing for firing up a motor is done with a timing light and checking that the light strobes the marks on the balancer pulley line up. The grommet - you would leak water on a rainy day if you don't have one. Either slit one and press it in with the wires in place [as a temporary fix], take the wires out and install a grommet and then thread the wires back in [proper way], or if your a meathead get a big silastic gun and bog it up!!!!
  6. Never trust anything until you can see it for yourself............ I didn't think Cal was being overly sarcastic, just a bit of tough love, and you should probably take this as a valuable lesson. Try the internet, then try searching on SAU, then ask. And don't forget, at least he took the time to answer you. I bet you won't forget now!!! Oh and I'd change mechanics while I was at it
  7. Zero trader rating and only one post.......not a good start tbh. And sympathy to you Brook......its always a hard call, to buy or not to buy - the extension of trust to a stranger. Good luck with it, hope you get some satisfaction. If you paid by Credit Card you can claim it back from your bank?
  8. Anything is possible.............it may well get down to what you would prefer!!!! I know that assessors will often listen [very quietly] to the owners when its a borderline case.
  9. Probably unburnt fuel in the system. Wouldn't worry about it.
  10. Jeez that hard, photo is really hard to place.......A/C drain?
  11. You need to list the mods. eg If you are using a hiflow turbo and no a/m ECU then the miss at 3K is R and R. ciggy port???= lighter?? probably need to take the dash apart and check the wiring is OK. Suspension wobble, no idea sorry. Jack it up and check that no bolts or other stuff is broken.
  12. Done and thanks. Now for my avatar..............
  13. Just noticed heaps of other users have their signature working, mine is still not a goer........and its not near as big as some of the others [eg Terry's ):].
  14. Lost our membership info - member, donated, supporter etc
  15. Sucks and is a sickening feeling............. All we can do is make it as hard as we can for them - there is always a remote chance that they will think 'to hard' and walk away. But if they really want it then they will get it.
  16. I didn't really feel any difference, but I changed my turbo to a high flow at the same time so was hard to tell. But standard cams are often set up for pollution control so are generally softer for a longer burn. The 256 cams are probably what Nissan would have wanted to use if ADR's etc didn't dictate otherwise.
