  1. Sounds like water in somewhere [genius ...I know].......probably go away in the summer, just park it in the hot sun for a few hours. Otherwise, if you need to do it now, its a strip and dewater/clean.
  2. OK, looks like I have insurance at level 3 for $855...agreed value of $40K with Enthusiasts. All they required was a heap of photo's and my mod list [which I have always kept in a .docx file anyway]. Not sure what level 1 would be, I was given level 3 cos I only had 'bomb' insurance [haven't had any comprehensive for over 30 years], so no 'no claim bonus'. I guess I will get level 1 after a few years, so the price should eventually come down.
  3. Ok contacted Enthusiasts online on Tuesday....so far no reply.....not too enthusiastic 🤣 I'll give them till Monday then try again.
  4. Just checking.....is Enthusiasts still the best option? I had mine with Just Cars which ended up as Aami - bomb insurance only. Anyway I just enquired about comprehensive [because of the increase in value etc due to the USA] and they would only insure for $9750. I was looking at around $40K, have seen others on Carsales [and sold later] for around this figure...and some weren't as specced as mine is, so I reckon $40K is about right.
  5. If only it didn't look like a tadpole...cos the actual package sounds impressive...but looks kill it IMO.
  6. Compression test is good, pretty much rules out rings etc What sort of driving were you doing just prior to stopping and removing the plugs? Can have an effect if you were idling or going very slow for some time. Put some injector cleaner in your fuel tank. If its still not right then take them out and get them cleaned [don't forget to number them]. If its still not right try new injectors.
  7. Umm....a machine shop may be able to 'polish' the rust off, but it doesn't look good. Depends on hardening integrity and the the type of build you want. Take 'em out and get them to a shop. They will know.
  8. Been told its done in Singapore...but could be the same, not sure.
  9. You also need to see if the coils are still getting power after the ignition is switched OFF. If they are then this will burn a coil out. Long shot but who knows what your wiring is like after turbo timers and alarms etc have been installed and removed etc
  10. You are correct Hardsteppa....BTW also stated this in my initial post. I was just looking for any feedback.....but looks like I'm going to be the first on here. And GTSBoy...I hear ya....but I'm not sure if the legalities of this wheel are as bad as you say. I could buy a second hand questionable condition Momo with airbag etc, but are they any more compliant? I could also go lowbrow and buy a leatherette cover and kit and sew it onto a standard wheel but that's a Kmart fix and tbh not even on my radar. The only real 'integrity' issue is the weld of the wheel hoop to the standard centre. I'll ask for pics of this work and see how their welds look, but if I was doing it then its not a hard weld to do. Its not like its an upside down weld in water with dissimilar/questionable metals or something.
  11. Has anybody used this business? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324214320233?fits=Plat_Gen%3AR33&hash=item4b7cadec69:g:lUoAAOSw1fJe-qI~&frcectupt=true If so, what was the service and quality of the finished item like? He said he will do one for my R33 [I am sending him an old wheel and he will use the centre] and I have to admit the price and photo's of the finished product look pretty much exactly what I want. Also messages to and fro are confidence building, he seems genuine. But I would value other peoples experience....if any. Reason for doing this is, my car never came with a standard wheel [over 20 years ago] and all I ever did was use use a SAAS leather/CF wheel, but finally last rego check my trusty mechanic quizzed me about it and said that I should really have an airbag wheel, so I'm trying to find one before next rego while retaining the same style of my present wheel. I am friends with him and don't want to compromise his business. BTW I have been pulled over a couple of times by the lice, but they have never questioned my steering wheel....yet but it will happen sooner or later.
  12. "300rwkW RB20 is laaaaaaaaaaaaag followed by 2000rpm of wheelspin. " and +360' spin out of control and up onto the gutter on a rainy day - esp. at a set of lights where you have to try to slip the clutch and take off going uphill
  13. Its not the dash that is Nismo, its just the speedo....its the only part that has the Nismo logo. I did the same thing years ago, you just swap the speedo out. To me, the rest of the dash looks bog stock standard.
  14. Dunno....I really liked the sound of the Ford Capri 3000 GT from the '70's.....and I'm no Ford fanboy, not even close. But they did get that Capri right IMO.
  15. Is that a whale reference?
  16. Why not get yours rebuilt? Again Tao can help.
