  2. For Sale is my 1995 Nissan Skyline GTST. The car has done 147000kms and is registered to December 2010. Excellent condition inside and out and always properly maintained and serviced. $11000 ono. All reasonable offers considered. See pictures below.

    History:

I purchased this car in June 2007 in Melbourne from its first Australian owner with 117000kms on the odometer. The car was initially standard apart from the turbo timer and a Viper alarm system.

Since then the car has been gradually modified and improved in a tasteful manner, with generally new parts (Wheels and Power FC were second hand). I have spent over $13000 just on the parts on this car, not including the time, effort and labour to get it to where it is.

A Gates Timing Belt and a new idler pulley were put on at approx 120,000kms. The clutch was installed in July 2010 and the 2-way differential has only done 3,000kms. Transmission Fluid changed approximately 10,000kms ago.

Tuned by Racepace Motorsports in Melbourne in June 2010 for approx 195kw at the wheels. Tuned for reliability rather than outright power.

Recent replacement of exhaust manifold gasket and manifold studs, turbo to manifold gasket also replaced. Turbocharger was inspected at this time and shaft play/float and bearing condition are all normal. New lines from power steering reservoir.

    Honest Car.

This car has been meticulously and lovingly maintained and modified by a car lover and Japanese import enthusiast. Non Smoker. In three years it has probably only spent about 15 nights outside a garage. It is one of the cleanest examples around and hasn't been abused or mistreated. Engine Oil always changed every 2-3000kms, as well as idling for several minutes before driving. 98RON or higher fuel always used. Very fussy owner. I will be sad to see this car go.

All supporting hardware is there already if the new owner decides to go for more power, turbo, injectors and tune all that would be needed for a substantial power increase.

Selling to help fund upcoming trip to Europe.

  4. ^^ good time.

I saw your car in the pits and meant to say hi, didnt get around to it. next time.

ya the standard rotor size shit me too, once they warm up, youre stuffed.

i went the uas spacers http://nismo.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_skylinebrakes.htm (do not get the dba4000's)

but looking back, i would have gone ksport/d2/g4 http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=433&page=2

Thanks man. Hmmm, maybe sell up and get a racecar......

  5. Not sure how much research you have done on tracking your skyline but one of the most common peace of mind upgrades is to swap that ceramic wheel with a steel item. Too much excess heat from track work causes the ceramic wheel to fall apart and this is what happened to my old gtst turbo back in the day.

I am not saying that your turbo has been damaged in anyway but if the noise continues I would def get it checked out by someone in the know.

Cheers, got a few things to do before Winton.......

  6. The first couple of track days after fitting the can I checked and found a dribble of oil. After that I don't really bother to check and drain it at the end of the day - most I've found is aorund the 200ml mark or so. You can also get the can to drain back to the sump if you are worried about the amount of oil collecting in the can.

As for your turbo, doesn't sound too good.....is it a steel wheeled turbo or still the stock ceramic item?

    Just standard mate

  7. Def need a catch can. The first time I did Sandown in the GTR with no catch can I had so much oil going through the inlet system that it was coming out of the blow off valves and leaking onto the front right tyre!! Not good for grip :) Fitted a catch can and never had that problem again. Also if you are going to be doing regular track days fit an oil cooler.

Ok, cheers. Yeah, got an oil cooler fitted already, no issues with temp or coolant temp. I couldn't believe how much oil was up there! So do you just check oil in catch can and top up oil throughout the day? I think i may have starved the turbo of oil in that first session, it was whining or shrieking a lot for a bit after that and inlet noise doesn't sound as crisp and smooth anymore, hope i didnt do too much damage.....

  8. Thanks to everyone who made this day possible, had a ball!

First track day, now i know where the car needs work (an oil control solution of some sort!) but happy with how it all went.

Did a 1:29.7 changing gears 1000rpm early and only 3/4 throttle once in 5th gear. In the first session there was so much oil up in the pcv pipe that on the cool down lap it leaked onto the exhaust manifold sending smoke pouring through the vents into the car. I proceeded to do poos and return to the pits. Also i think all the oil going back into the inlet caused a lean mixture because knock level reached 104.

After this i only revved the car to 6000rpm and took it a bit easier in 5th and it was fine, knock level never exceeded 50 for the rest of the day.

Any advice guys? Oil catch can i think. (RB25DET)

Good to see some nice cars down there, never got a good chance to meet any of you guys though.
