  1. Yeh Lachlan, heavily regretting not coming to visit you mate =( I just figured seems this guy was going to roll the guards and the name of the place includes 'Tires' you would suspect they might know a thing or two about fitting them on the right way so I thought hell I'll get it done at once. Now I gotta just find time to get the two down to another tire place to get put on the correct way. Probably just duck down to somewhere in Malaga coz its close. Hopefully I'll find a place that won't sook about stretch fitment, one place will apparently fit them on but refuses to inflate them which I can deal with.
  2. Thanks everybody, main purpose (other than venting) was to let everyone know in case they are looking to get rolling or tire fitting done. PM me and I'll send you the details, like I said - with the rolling it can happen but to do that and get tires on the wrong way is just poor. Eps, I'm not far off now bro all painting is completed, centre caps are back on and just stuck on the glow in the dark work emotion decals.. Once I get the two tires swapped around the right way and paint over the red calipers back to black she should be ready for some pronographic photo shooting. (then it's just a matter of fixing up minor paint work LIKE the cracked/peeling guards =/)
  3. Howdy fellow Perthonians.. Just a heads up, I'm obviously not going to post the name of this business in a public forum but just wanted to warn anybody needing guards rolled and tired fitted NOT to go where I did. So... Long story short I've come to the conclusion this place works on a 50% success rate with their work.. A week of emails in the lead up to dropping my car in which covered guard rolling and whether or not it would be likely to crack my paint as well as the exact tires, rim size etc etc and what I was after.. Get a call from the dude asking me if my car has been in a crash? (no) Has your car had repairs done to it after an accident? (no) Have you repaired any of the paint on it? (no).. By this point I'm panicking.. "Why mate what have you found is there something wrong" Tyre guy "Ah yeah.. well this NEVER happens with factory paint but on one side the paint has cracked all the way around the arch even though I heated it so I don't think it was factory paint" Me "It is DEFINITELY factory paint and I'm not too happy you've cracked my guards mate" Tyre guy "oh.. ummm well look how bout we just make it half price" So with no real option I get my car out of there ASAP. He has cracked the paint on BOTH sides quite badly on the lip, can't go back in time what's done is done.. Continue with the putting of the wheels onto the car when I got home last night and of the 4 F*CKING tires he had to fit to the 4 F*CKING rims he put two of them on the wrong way ie: The giant arrow which says 'rotation' next to it is facing the same way on all 4 rims, my friend says "oh maybe he didn't know" HE DEFINITELY knew.. I have the emails stipulating what I was after and if you fit tires for a living at a place that only does that sort of thing I would hope you can read.. End result I now can't fit the wheels on my car now coz I gotta take two back to get them put on the right way.. sigh So yes, this place works on the 50/50 principal - roll two guards and 1 will get messed up Fit 4 tires to 4 rims and two will get messed up. Definitely DO NOT recommend going to this place k thx. With the cracked guards I mean hey it can happen I'm not that nieve, was gonna give him the benefit of the doubt but fitting the tires on the wrong way.. I mean come on, was gonna take them back and get him to fix it for free but for the first experience with this place I'd prefer it to be the last. Just gonna pay to have it done somewhere else, concerned if I take the two back to get fixed only 1 will come out ok based on the 50/50 principal. /endrant
  4. Simon, thanks mate I've asked Brad but he's hanging onto his thanks anyways bud. Royce I've sent a message mate, thanks heaps.
  5. Hi All, Running out of ideas here, really need a standard R34 intake manifold to replace mine due to coolant issue at the front of the intake. I've tried quite a few wreckers, posted in the WTB section and had no luck as of yet. If anybody in Perth has upgraded to an aftermarket plenum or has a spare one lying about I can drive out with cash (not a stupid amount of cash.. be reasonable here) and grab it right away as long as its in good condition. Any recommendations or ideas appreciated, i'm gonna die if I don't have my baby to drive =( cheers all, itsme
  6. haha.. Nah, the problem is I'm not entirely sure the sort you are referring to, any pics off the net or links of the type you are looking for mate? I'm just imagining the kinda chunky looking ones and they can appear a little cheap that's all. End of the day though if you like the look it's your car buddy, I'm doing my rims pink at the moment and copping heaps of sh*t for it but I like the look and like to be different so meh.. Post a pic or link of the type you mean.
  7. @ Victor, not sure mate try give them a buzz and ask them.. Their website isn't too great but here you go bud http://www.blitsbodykits.com.au/
  8. Yeh bro what he said ^
  9. How annoying that somebody would choose the same name as me except add a space in between.. =( But yeh check piping..
  10. Hi All, Still getting a handle on all the parts in the engine bay. Had a coolant leak from around where the top Radiator hose joins to the engine, suspected it was the clamp but after taking off the hose I've found the piece of metal the rubber hose fits over is quite corroded/pitted so it's not sealing properly. I'm looking to replace this part but it appears to run the length of the engine (RB25DET NEO). Can anybody help in identifying the name of this part, looks to be a biggish job so I'm a little concerned =/ Would upload pics but my phone is being a b*tch, I've just attached a pic of an RB25DET Neo off the net and the red dot is the point at which the hose joins up, the arrow going backwards indicates that it all appears to be one piece that goes all the way back if this helps identify what I'm referring to. Any help advice or tips greatly appreciated. thanks, Steve
  11. Hey bud, I've found it to be cheaper to order from the eastern states but if you do need them ASAP I'd just call the usual garages and ask for pricing and availability.. Depending on whether you are NOR or SOR.. Try giving Autoworx or Japanese Performance Centre a buzz... Like I said though I'd be surprised if the pricing would be lower than those offered over east/over seas.. I would also suspect that Splitfires will be what people are stocking if any. Good luck mate.
  12. I'll have to try find pics of his car somewhere... He doesnt have it anymore and we aren't even really friends anymore but it was in Auto-salon a few years back.. was all show and no go and I used to love it because i used to get driven around in it at the time I only owned a 95 lancer so anything/everything amazed me.. Was silver with custom veilside kit and blue vinyls just in case you already know the car i'm referring to. That cruise I came on was/is the only one I've ever been on but once the new rims are on I'll probably take her out again =) Are you ignoring my question as to what suburb you are in or you worried I'm gonna stalk you?? If it's neither of these feel free to PM me.. I'm in Mirrabooka so I'm not too worried about dodgy people it's kind-of how we roll in the hood. =P
  13. @ Mickey depends on how soon you wanna do it but if you're willing to wait I'm gonna upload pics of my 'ghetto' set-up at home as well as progress and results..not sure if any1 gives a shit but I'm doing it just in case. (Mainly for you Eps) In regards to powder coating maybe just check with the dudes your thinking of going to in regards to colors. I found the colors are 'relatively' limited ie: They had nothing like what I was after, given it was an unusual color though. I would suspect GMG or Charcoal Grey would be easy as, I first painted my rims in Satin Black with a Satin Clear coat 'ghetto style' and I must say they looked pretty friggin good.. What are the rims you are looking to paint? Stock or.. @ Eps.. do some work (says the guy working 45 mins past his finished time)
  14. As per post above ^ they are not legal and you will not get a permit for it. To my knowledge the only 'legal' carbon fibre/fibreglass bonnets are those sold by Blits Australia (not to be confused with Blitz) which are ADR approved, if they are not ADR approved (the majority of them) then they are not legal and there are a million threads as to why; Do not close properly, hinges etc causing danger if the bonnet lifts and shatters into your windscreen - can get bonnet pins to combat this problem but still illegal. Also have read that these can be dangerous in a crash, rather than crumpling like metal they 'shatter' supposedly.. Sucks balls coz i really want an aftermarket bonnet but cbf with the problems associated with having one, good luck.
  15. I think to properly appreciate it I'd have to see in irl.. Dunno how coz I gather you won't be rockin up at any skyline cruises etc.. What suburb are you in dude?? Maybe when I finish off my rims etc I can bring my around and we can appreciate eachothers vehicles (and POSSIBLY company) I did noticed the foglights at the front but can't see the interior in that pic, sounds nice though.. if it sounds anything like my mates stock soarer they have a mean 'low' note to them not sure if it was his exhaust though =/
  16. Can't say I ever stole BMX's although it was common practice at school that if I didn't like somebody (or a number of people) I would crack all their combination lock thingy and chain all their bikes together to the pole then play basketball on the school court just so I can enjoy watching them trying for hours to undo them all.. the best part was once or twice I would bring my own combination lock and throw it in the mix.. so after everybody had undone their individual locks.. there would be 1 spare that nobody owned.. good times.. lol i was just thinking how long would a 4 door soarer be.. I mean my 4 door 34 is a bit of a 'limo' but JESUS (Died 4 Dubstep) *inserts free plug* Excuse my ignorance Rowan but I'm sure you mentioned that your soarer is rare in some way, please enlighten me? She looks to be in fresh condition mate, nice.. Although I do miss the Ceffie.. FUSCHIA RIMS!!! ARGGGHHH
  17. Hey mate, I've got BC Racing coilies on my 34 4 door. Installed them myself no worries and they seem pretty good to me, spring rate is a little soft but good for daily driving..
  18. HEY ROWAN WHAT UP HOMIE!! (I don't really talk like this just giving it a go) To OP.. 32 4 doors are quite nice imo, black always looks good coz I feel it takes attention away from the back light housings lookin a little funny (Just my opinion) Plus if you get a black one.. and live in Perth.. then perhaps.. JUST perhaps.. I could let you in on my custom paint code for the rims I'm painting on mine.. then we could have a black 4 door 32 and a black 4 door 34.. with FUSCHIA rims.. hear that eps??
  19. Awesome.. On a bit of a side note.. after I sort out the painting etc I'll need to get the rims fitted to my car.. do you think mr scorpio will be happy to assist in fitting 225/40's and 235/40's to 18x9 rims??
  20. Cheers Johnny.. You will probably be the first to see this project once its complete - feel specials? Rowan I can't see your pic.. this makes me sad.. admittedly I'm tempted to go with your G2 idea.. I've got a meeting with a dude at a paint shop tomorrow to discuss ideas/colors in depth.. depending on how that goes will probably be the deciding factor coz its killing me looking at my new tyres and new rims NOT on the car..
  21. Pics or it never happened.. No but seriously.. any pics or links to pics? Also any idea of places that anodize rims in perth and do a good job? I'm seriously considering just having a crack with spray cans.. just need to find right paint and color.. *sighs*
  22. Eps.. seriously bro just f**king lulz at the shit you say.. glad to have you in this thread.. Emotional, sensual things aside... g2 pink caliper paint.. do you mean to use on my wheels? They are brush on paints dude.. can't see that working - ie: brush painting 4 rims with brake paint.. Or.. Are you implying I paint my wheels pink as well as my calipers??? =/ Well.. You wanna know what I've been up to>> Tough you are already reading so deal with it.. I saw a cool moth, busted out the new D5000 with a zoom lense and stood on a milk crate for height.. whilst doing it a 15 yr old and an 18 year old chick ran up and used a wax strip on the back of my calf.. so I'm missing a patch of hair there then they said "might as well do the rest" so I got in my car and drove home from kings park to mirrabooka /endstorykthxbye
  23. So.. I've spent many days and nights searching and it turns out I pretty much can't get the pink I'm after in a powdercoat due to all/most powdercoaters using the Dulux range which is relatively limited.. The pinks are all light and sh*t and not really what I'm after.. see I don't mind this pink http://www.rallygrafix.com/images/gallery/...pink_05_big.jpg or this one http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Fkf00E6cYbA/S3FQDWA8....jpg?imgmax=800 So... I'm gonna go ghetto and paint them pink, I'll take my time (weeks if I have to) and get them perfect as possible.. Just hoping somebody can advise whether it is best to use acrylic or enamel and the benefits/downsides of each. I (believe) enamel is harder but similar to powdercoating whereby it can chip whereas acrylic is a bit softer and easier to work with =/ Also any recommended paint shops or brands to find this color would be appreciated.. so far the only brand I've been able to find that has decent pinks is House of Kolor so I might check them out. Don't worry Eps no half-steppin for me dude, it's all or nothing!! An Basti - I'm definitely more of a pink tutu kind of guy rather than a pink nail polish kinda guy.. no.. wait..
  24. You Sir are hilarious damn good call..It's tough livin in the ghetto, in the ghetto.. At least if they are Pink they will be easier to see when somebody is running away with them at night..
  25. Nooo the Ceffy =( JD4D is dead serious, one of my best mates and yes the name is for the lulz i guess.. Just out of curiosity called a few powdercoating places and both of them told me I can choose any color in the dulux powdercoating range.. I must say NONE of them appear close to what I'm after =/ And no Fuschia either Rowan.. only dull pinks and gay rasperry colors.. fml Yeh I live in Mirrabooka so it seemed like the right way to do things.. looking back on it spraypainting Works rims is pretty damn ghetto
