There are ways around the sat nav...not a big deal...what is a big deal is the performance. For 170 - 180k you will not find any car that comes close to the GTR, so whilst you would expect GPS in a car of this value, you would not xepect this performance in a car of this value...hence the trade offs. Cheers

Martin...don't talk like that you might anger the R32 Gods and they shall rise from their garages in Punchbowl and smite thee with their 24 inch bling wheels. "However...it is perfectly clear that the r35 was built to a price and is not the beautifully over-engineered car that the r32 was" Dazmo...I think it is here that you will find the bitching about price. The R32 was and is a piece of engineering beauty, it is hardcore and was so easily tuned to be a monster. The latest Wheels has a beautiful comparison of the Richards/Scaife R32 versus the new R35. The 92' R32 would have qualified 5th on todays V8 supercar grid....bloody impressive, however it is very easy to sit back after 17 years of further development on the car and say how much better it is as a track car. The R32 was built to a purpose...that purpose was a Group A track car, the R35 was built to beat the Twin Turbo 911. From early track work and results the R35 is proving to be a very formitable force, give it anoth 12 months of race development and you will start seeing more of its potential. If we are comparing apples with apples and taking an R32 straight from the showroom floor in stock mode and then do the same with an R35, I think that the R35 is an exceptional piece of engineering. Lets have this conversation when the R35 has had the time to get a similar amount of race track testing and modification as the R32. The potential of the R35 is well documented, it is now that the perfecting of these modifications and finding the cars limits begins. Next years Targa would be a test of 12 month development. Anyway...we may not have to wait 12 months to see it wins it first...Go Quinn.

OK....I have finally got pricing from my dealership..... Trans Oil $100 Litre (10 Litres Needed) They get it in a 20 Litre drum and can do 2 cars with that. Diff Oil $600.00 for the replacement (so that is about $200.00 a litre) Labour $198.00 per hour for the above work ontop of the prices quoted. Adjusting the alignment before a track day - 2.5 hours Bolts for the bottom of the car (Basically they are claiming that all bolts need to be replaced everytime they are removed) $100 a set. So for a track day where your oil goes over 130 you will be up for about $3,000.00. That is assuming nothing goes wrong with your brakes. $3,000 for a service.....you have to be kidding. I wanted to get my car dealer serviced, but at those prices they can take a flying f*ck through a rolling doughnut. Martin, your article was right on the money in Wheels.

Martin, Just noticed your article in this months wheels, I am looking at placing an order for all the bits and pieces I will need for the 2000km service, can you PM me with what I need, I will be damned if I am paying Nissan this sort of money. Cheers, Jeff
-
1 was premium white, the other premium black. One for me and another by a mate. Was not ordered together, so it was not a "package" price.

Now that I have my car I am happy to tell all: Final price was $170,000. Dealer charges were $10,000.00 of that. I will not post here but for any Sydney buyers pm me if you want to know lowest and highest sell prices. There is a huge difference in sell prices so make sure you shop around.

Many thanks...exactly what I was after.

He is looking at modifying the wiring loom and also the screen inputs (possibly replacing the touch screen) so we can have an integrated GPS but also to have the onboard CD player changed to DVD/CD. Basically looking at the twin disk Mod like the BMW's have to have the map DVD in one drive and use the other for GPS. He is basically investigating what can be done....the above is the wish list. Cheers, Jeff

I have actually found the system to be great, I adjusted the treble and bass and then started ripping disks to the music box. I have programed my music to the styles that I like and just have it mix the music.

Guys, I have searched and have been unable to find information on pulling the dash centre console apart. I have a company that is looking at putting in some after market AV mods, however they want proper instructions on pulling the dash and centre console apart first. I have tried to download some manuals from links but I am gettig corrupt headers. Does anyone have diagrams or instructions for this. Cheers, Jeff

For the things it lacks the GTR is still an awesome car. The acceleration and sheer fun of this package make you forget the small things that are omitted. I picked up a Navman S200 and mounted it under the CD player. The section there is big enough and shaded enough to fit and view the S200 perfectly. You can run the power cable under the middle console so that you can not see it and into the power outlet in the middle console itself, alternatively you can just run it beside your seat. Using the front power outlet made it look unsightly. Other than that, I am just waiting on getting the reversing camera pricing and I will be a happy chap. However if anyone finds a way to activate the GPS on the ADM cars please let me know. Cheers, Jeff

QAB, however it still has the pearl.
-
I have the white, It is a pearl white. In certain light it looks a little off white, however it is definately an ivory pearl. The colour looks brilliant on the car with the dark wheels.

sounds like a shannons ad. The Ducati one...she has no readline, you shift by feel.
-
No you only have to get it done when you fill up with Petrol, I have had mine done 3 times now, it is booked it for when I fill up this afternoon. The 40k rumour is a complete respray of the car......it goes so fast the paint peels off so to keep it in good condition you need to have it resprayed. Hope the information helps.

I think you are misreading...there are no complaints, just feedback to a member who is looking at changing from a BM to R35. The brutal performance is the exact reason why I bought this car. The same performance is the reason I would not try navigating through heavy or moderate traffic at speed. The car is competetnt at speed, on a track etc, however put it on a congested street with incompetent drivers everywhere and you will spend most of your time watching out for them and not enjoying the car for what it can do.

I would actually disagree here, as a passenger maybe, however as a driver there is two ways to basically drive this car. Auto and manual. Auto certainly makes this car a no brainer in peak hour traffic, it makes it seem almost pedestrian as it upwards shifts through to 6th before 60km/h. The feel and response is almost dull, however the connection with the car is still there. I often tootle along in traffic in auto mode, however as soon as the opportunity arises I simply give a couple of pulls on the down shift paddle and it is a whole different ball game. I intend to use my car as much as possible, however I am like handbrake, I have offices 2 km from home and I love being able to look out my office window at the car. If I was commuting any distance then I would get a second car, I am lucky that I have a range of work cars I can grab if I have to do a trip anywhere that I do not want to take the GTR. The standard suspension is very taunt, however comfoirt mode is a little, and I only mean a little more forgiving. I have found that after lunch you really feel your stomach being tossed around on a bumpy road, or even not so bumpy road. I came out of a chipped 335 (Manual) into the GTR, for every day driving the 335 was more fun because the acceleration is more easily regulated. Up to the 120km mark you have a lot of play in the accelerator to modulate your speed and acceleration, the GTR on the other hand is not so easily handled. A short stab has you rocketing over 130km/h which is fun when taking a mate for a drive, however when trying to overtake a knob in the right hand lane who wont pull left in even moderate traffic takes concentration. I am finding that the "playing" I used to do in the 335 is not something I would venture to do in the GTR (well just yet anyway). I am looking forward to my first track day in this so I can see what it is capable of. That being said, I love driving the GTR every day, but the thrill of this car is lost to a large degree in auto mode, but it can without a doubt be used as an everyday driver, you just have to be very careful.

And with all those hidden speed cameras...congrats...that is commitment.

I was not actually told about any run in period when I picked the car up. I only got that from the owners manual.... that being the case...time to drive it properly, 450km is enough. If it is good enough for Snowman then it is good enough for me. Cheers
-
I am the same...only 450km here...the 2000km cannot come around quick enough. I am hanging for the first track day. I might have to take the rest of the week off too, just so I can put the KM's on it. CHeers

Nissan made it very clear to me when I picked my car up, "If it was not provided with the car from Japan then they would not provide it or warrant it" The GPS they offered me has evaporated, hell I did not even get a proper key ring or number plate covers. I am curious, the guys from Brookvale, what did Nissan give you with your car? Keyring, number plate covers etc....anything? Cheers
-
Please let me know any details, I am very keen to get this done and as I am based in Sydney so if someone has experience it would be great. PM me if you like. Cheers

OK guys, I have had my car for just over 5 days now and have read the users manual and gone through a lot of online stuff, however I cannot get over some of the following points and I want to be sure I am not missing something; 1) No sat nav - the US market and JDM market have these but not for us. NAGTROC mention an input plug in their model, can we tap an aftermarket product into our cars somehow so it comes up on the screen or what solution are people coming up with? 2) The US model can play DVD's, as far as I can tell we cannot, once again NAGTROC. 3) The US model has an Aux in...do we have the same. Link for the wiring and connections: http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=25216 Other questions: I go into my tyre pressure and it is in kPa, the manual shows PSI and kPa, however I have no option for changing to PSI in the units mode. I do not have all the menu items listed in the features, I will go through more later, but I would love to hear from everyone who has any solutions or ideas about the above. I did the: Hold Settings and turn the knob next to function and went into the setup menu, however nothing too interesting here...just changed the cars name from My Car to Jeff's GTR. Basically I would love to have Aussie owners post solutions they find to the things our cars are missing...or mods they come up with. Cheers,

Congrat...you will not be able to wipe the smile off your face for the whole weekend.
