Yes the Ilmor deigned/built Mercedes engines were also used by McLaren to success in 98/99. As far as I know they are still built by Ilmor in the the UK for McLaren/Brawn/Force India
Sold mine on ebay about 6 months ago. Mine was mint and I hadn't used it years since I quit playing in bands, from memory I got $680.00 for it.
Great preamps for live use but I found that it had no place in the studio when comparing to a tube amp or ironically something as easy to dial a sound into as Native Instruments Guitar Rig software.
Most people don't take notice of alarms, so unless it's monitored there isn't that much point. Might be a deterrent though.
What you need to do is make it difficult or near impossible to get in by using things like roller shutters on windows and security screen doors in front of solid timber doors that have nice locks like 001's. The more difficult you make it the more likely they are to go elsewhere like down the street looking for an easier target
I'm in a similar boat being a Ferrari man..... but I'm going to be optimistic and keep thinking that they (Ferrari) will use Fridays 2 x 1.5Hr sessions to get their cars to the pointy end of the grid again.
OK so you hear a single beep when you turn the machine on and you get fans/hdd's spinning but nothing on your monitor.... At worst you've fried the graphics card. If nothing is happening (after what SLED has already advised) then you might have fried the Power Supply. Having re-read your post ^, there is a difference between PCI Express and PCI 2.1. PCI 2.1 slots are usually white slots on mobos and have a largish edge connector, most if not all PCI cards are compliant with 2.1. PCI Express cards have a very short edge connector and slots are usually black.
Also if you ever need any help/advise in regards to computer music production feel free to PM me... I've been doing this stuff for far too many years and have built and configured many digital audio workstations. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the creative card?
Shouldn't matter if the onboard is not disabled in BIOS because you should be able to switch between devices in Control Panel.
Just double check that it's seated correctly in the slot
Agree, Alonso is no muppet but I don't think his woes and others can be 100% attributed to KERS. This years Renault car looks like an absolute pig (handling/traction wise) wet or dry track.
The 1988 Ferrari, Lotus, Benetton cars weren't exactly mixing it with the McLarens (15 wins from 16 starts) either but I would've said that the March team were best of the rest.
Who were the Judd engines designed for? Williams F1 later used them too iirc....
And obviously the cars balance (where this weight is distributed) has nothing to do with traction, braking and cornering speed..... I think it's pretty obvious that the rear diffuser is allowing some teams greater grip in the rear of the car.
RBR don't have what is considered an illegal rear diffuser and they've seemed to produce a pretty damn fine car this year which to me isn't that surprising considering who designed it.
For anyone who is doubting the abilities of Newey or just simply aren't aware of his history of winning, I've quoted this below from another thread....
From my understanding the issues with KERS are not associated with the use of it but rather the 30-40Kg added to the car and how exactly to maintain the cars balance with it added.
