Where To Buy An Hks Gtrs Turbo Kit?
wolverine replied to Checkbuzz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
GCG hi-flows are ball bearing. Back to back test OP6 housing vs GT-RS same dyno, same car, so I can only report what I saw on the dyno. ps. I am talking where power was made and they track pretty similarly. The GT-RS had the edge and there wasn't anything like 1000rpm difference in boost threshold. -
Just need a single, solitary, only, lonely nice fat Venom cat.

I'm sure that made sense when I typed it..... "once you push some more timing to fill the small hole". -

They don't look worlds apart on the dyno down low and on the ramp to boost but on the road they feel very different. It certainly don't think a housing change would equate to 400rpm difference or at least I don't think it will feel like that once you push some more timing to fill in there to fill it in. -

Hi Disco One of the members here has a kai (can't remember who it is offhand) he was having issues with compressor surge. I will do a quick search and link if I can find it. HKS 2835 kai thread -
Where To Buy An Hks Gtrs Turbo Kit?

Since when isn't the GCG turbo brand new? All the rotating bits are brand new. The non-moving bits are cleaned and the whole assembly goes back on in the stock location with stock lines and is definitely cheaper to re-install than any other turbo as it is the one and only true bolt on since it is the same turbo. $1800 last time I checked. I think the GCG is better bang for your buck. I back to back tested the GCG (OP6 rear) and the HKS GT-RS same dyno within a week. We had issues with making the power expected from car and it all pointed to the turbo after testing and ruling out lots of other parts. So I bit the bullet and bought a GT-RS for reasonable money and it performed almost identically. On the dyno (which is not proof of anything much necessarily) they were very close, the GT-RS made a whisker more power slightly earlier(maybe OP6 housing makes it slightly lazier than and R33 rear??) but made similar top end. I believe the GT-RS is the better turbo but bang for buck the GCG was better value as the performance on the dyno looks very similar. Conflict with other views? You breathe on the GT-RS is wants to go. It is very responsive and ramps onto boost so easily any gear any time. A great turbo. I think this is the ducks nuts turbo on an R33/34 but much higher cost. The stagea has a weight penalty of +300kg to lug around so the extra response of the GT-RS is pretty handy in traffic. The 2835ProS needs a slightly larger throttle opening to get it moving by comparison. With less weight you might not notice the difference?!?! I think each of these turbos have positives as they all perform well on RB25's and as the performance improves the cost goes up. I don't think you can go wrong either way. -
Hesitation On Boost @ Part Throttle

Grub screw can cause a slight surge on light openings. I would pull it out since it is a 10minute job and see what happens. -

Glad I didn't check in earlier..... Just trying to help a brother out. -
440cc are big enough as they will flow around 440hp at the flywheel. However if you the price is similar I would choose injectors with a little more headroom like the Deka 600cc in case you choose to go for a larger turbo or if ethanol based fuels become a possibility.

Where To Buy An Hks Gtrs Turbo Kit?

My experience was that the GCG hiflow was really close to the GT-RS and they are much cheaper by comparison. Some of the Hypergear options look interesting at the price also such as the SS1 (apologies if I have the model wrong). I have no doubt that you will be very happy with the GT-RS if you go that way. It is definitely a whisker more responsive than the 2835ProS that has replaced it but I prefer the more linear delivery of the ProS in general. The GT-RS behaves like a kid with ADHD and it is fantastic for cut and thrust driving especially considering it was strapped to the fat stagea with all its extra weight. It might be worth pricing a HKS 2835 Kai (the new version) thru Jessestreer as well. http://www.jps-trading.com/product_info.php?currency=AUD&products_id=5794 You are probably going to get some grief from some people on buying name brand turbos like HKS but new Jap kits are true bolt on options so you pay some coin upfront but save on the frigging around factor and with their HKS specific housings they work very well. -
I'm Confused About The Surge Tank Setup
wolverine replied to SargeRX8's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
x2 to both. Just stick a good quality high flowing pump in tank. -

I would take the time to find out exactly what turbine housing they intend supplying you with as Garrett don't make one in a T3 footprint for that turbo. -

You still need a T3 turbine housing for the GT2871. -
Ricciardo looks unflattering compared to Liuzzi and Karthekeyan only if you ignore that he is driving on a green track in P1 and is on an unknown program for tyres fuel and aero.......perhaps he is going a little better than it appears.

Back to back, same dyno might be 10kw as there is drag from the rollers and diffs but the rear wheels should be doing all the driving anyway. When it comes to tuning it makes no difference.
-
Different dyno + temperature = the reason

...and it will be within a bees wang of being the same anyway.

Rb Hks Cast Low Mount Manifold
wolverine replied to 32_Dave's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Worth noting they are a divided manifold including a divider to the wastegate port. -
What difference does a 4WD dyno make? Nearly 100% of the time your car peddles around on the rear wheels. If Yavuz uses the Envy dyno it will be for cars that does allow easy 2WD mode. Best bet is to give them a call and see what they say.

Alguersuari will breathe a sigh of relief because he was looking like he was going to be driving the Torro Rosso golf cart for the last two rounds. http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/motor-sport/historic-grand-prix-berth-for-perth-driver/story-e6frg26l-1226085114066 No official confirmation that I can find yet.

Can Anyone Identify This Fuel Pump?
wolverine replied to SargeRX8's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Buy a new one Sarge. Don't muck around with second hand pumps. -
I'm with Lith, there never seems to be much difference between the 71 and 76mm compressors when it comes to response in Garrett housings. You have to lean on the 71mm compressor to make the numbers where you can sit the 76mm comp in pretty fat area and still have some headroom if you want.

You should make around 200rwkw with those mods after tuning the Nistune. I think it is worth it. More important than the peak power number is the vastly improved drivability everywhere IF you go to a good tuner.
