  2. We seem to have gone around in a circle. The original statement that has changed to So we agree that cooler air can cause detonation (even if the reasons are not agreed upon). The fix is finding which cells are recording higher readings on the knock sensor and pulling some timing. Can we close the thread until Marko has fixed the issue before someone pops a vein.

  5. Hi Jetwreck Are you sure they fitted GT3071 into the stock turbo housing? I thought M35's come with a GT2860 as standard. I don't think there is enough meat in the housings to machine them out to the dimensions of a GT30 based turbo. The graph looks like it is making power consistent with a GT28 framed turbo so perhaps it is a higher spec version from this series.

  11. Just confirming for everyone that the RS4S rear bar won't fit a series 2 auto stagea due to the difference in rear sub-frames.

  13. Hi smokem He has assumed you are running stock turbo (and I am assuming you are using the factory ECU). It is mostly likely the ECU airflow cut you are experiencing. Aftermarket engine management or running lower boost (to reduce airflow) are the fixes. It is harsh that people feel the need to call others idiots for not knowing everything but it is a frustration based on the lack of effort by people in searching through the forum for the answer first before starting another thread to answer the same tired old questions. I hope there is some confirmation of what the issue was for the original poster when it is rectified or else this thread will have been for nothing.
  14. coathanger + tape find the grommit inside the cabin (drivers side above to right of the throttle pedal) and poke the coathanger through the grommit and up into the engine bay. You will eventually see the end of the coathanger and then it is a simple case of taping vaccum line and pulling it back through the grommit. You should be able to do it without removing anything from the car.
  15. I still have a major question mark over RBR with their tyre strategy. When Button lit up the timing screens with fastest sector times RBR should have pulled in one of their two drivers to cover. They claim that the car was working alright on the inters but seriously....
