The GT3071 and HKS2835ProS have 450hp compressors. A GT3076 with a 56 trim compressor is a 500hp compressor.
The turbo that sits between the ones above is a GT3076 in 52 trim. This is a bit more work to find but disco and a few others have sourced them through GCG.
I doubt you will be unhappy with a HKS unit but the price is up there so it is worth the exercise of comparing a garrett unit. You can hardly go wrong with either unit.
If I was replacing a turbo on either of my RB25's right now I would go the 52trim.
S2 is no issue with an R34 GT-t PowerFC, it starts and runs it fine but just the traction control (pin 51) needs attention to get rid of the check light.
Replacing a working part doesn't make sense, stick a consult on it and check whether the 02 sensor voltage fluctuates once it is up to temperature.
I have never had an engine check light come on with a failed 02 sensor on either car.
Engine check light flashing is often an indicator that the knock sensor is picking up some noise. There are other possibilities (like AFM maxing out) but I am pretty certain it has nothing to do with an O2 sensor.
Is it running the factory ECU or some aftermarket engine management. It may be worth checking the AFR's as good insurance.
Are you sure it is not an exhaust manifold gasket leak?
Before you buy a new one I would make 100% sure that it is the turbo. My experience is that they go bang or they work with not much in between. If you are determined to buy a 2nd hand turbo any RB25DET turbo will do the job. The 34GT-t/S2 stagea version has a slightly larger turbine housing.
If you take the time to do some searching many if not all of the questions you ask have already been asked and answered so assuming you do a search of SAU here is the one of the best links that should fix your issue very cheaply. If you take the time to add to these threads it remains as a quality database for the next person with the same issue.
