  1. The compressor gets close but it is only a whisker needs to come off (if any at all). I made my own heat shield with 1mm aluminium with basic hand tools so with some basic workshop tools you could make up something pretty tidy. With a smaller compressor cover you might come out with nothing to do. Either way it isn't a big deal when you are already in there. There should be plenty of room for a new dump as the manifold is a low mount vs side mount. The radius on the dump should be more reasonable than on a factory manifold.
  2. There is definitely no spacer on there disco. I suspect you may need to machine the engine mount a whisker for clearance just like on the ext gated units. Since you are swapping on your shiny new 52 trim special order you really should replace the manifold studs while you are in there. This will give you the chance to dummy fit the HKS manifold (that you really should use!!) and see what clearance you have.
  3. i have no experience with Focal 8" subs but i have a pair of 11" Focal's in small enclosures and they work quite nicely in the stagea mounted between the strut towers. I have a 10" sub hidden next to the battery on my R33 GTS-t in a very small enclosure and that might be an option if space it at a premium for you. I guess if you go ahead you will need to replace the parcel shelf with some decent MDF assuming there is enough room for the sub underneath without cutting and weakening the structure.
  4. do you want a stocker FPR for cheap? pm me. i have one or two lying around.
  5. Bilsteins with extra circlip grooves machined will give you the adjustability. The RS4S requires a fork rear end on the shocks which is the critical difference compared to auto stageas. Sydneykid sold these and last i checked EGA4IT was sourcing much the same thing just recently.
  6. i have 260deg type B poncams and i reckon the stockers are identical to all neo RB25DET's. i'm sure i was one of the doubters that started a rumour that stagea cams might be different (years ago) when we struggled to make power expected with certain upgrades.
  7. Hey that's funny I spotted Mike in a yellow stagea and he was doing the lions share of the work. Ms Wolv is very very happy with the new deck. A big thanks to Mike and Mitch for giving up their Sunday afternoon.
  8. I am really offended I would be the first to say go for a different turbo (GT3076 or thereabouts for a similar application) but with all the right gear and set up a GT3040 works fine. The HKS GT-RS (T3 flanged version) has a similar mismatch of turbine to compressor and no one really gripes about how they drive. It may not be the best way to go but it works fairly effectively in the real world. I bought mine for the right price with all the accompanying goodies (HKS manifold, extrude honing already done on the lot etc) that it was hard to pass over. If I was replacing the turbo (and using the HKS manifold) I would use a twin scroll housing on a GT3076 or lean on a GT3071.
  9. Correct call on webber. Heidfeld had to get right out of the throttle and onto the anchors.
  10. Gotta wish you were fueled a little bit heavier at this point than really light.
  11. What a great start, with lots of action overtaking and a big bingle with Button, Alguesari, Grosjean and Hamilton involved.
  12. Fisi P1 so kudos to the FI team. Tell me when i wake up he is running uber light?
  13. Disco, I'm not sure if I am a bit thick but wouldn't the wastegate opening lower the exhaust manifold pressure in any application be internal/external once it cracks open. It should vary the level of pressure from which the restriction is eased whereas a larger AR gives a higher threshold before things get out of hand. Does the engine differentiate the degree of scavenging when the exh manifold pressure is lowered by a larger turbine housing or when the wastegate opens? I am certainly not disagreeing with the logic of a larger turbine to give you a lower base exhaust manifold pressure/restriction and pushing more timing to compensate down low as this is similar to the path that my R33 has gone down (albeit with a compressor that is a whisker bigger than ideal for me).
  14. ATPturbo.com have a .78 divided housing as an option.
  15. I finally looked in here. Well done Darrin.
  16. Heat soak on the freeway??
  17. A trumpet atmo BOV and a set of racing stripes is my call.
  18. what about capital HD?
  19. Force India fantastic job with Sutil leading practice 3.
  20. Vettel's engine has expired in Q3. Is that the end of his title hopes? I presume, if Webber finishes in front of him this race, team orders will be firmly in place from here to the end of the season. I believe they get a number of engine swaps without a grid penalty. edit: I don't suppose RBR can replace the engine prior to quali anyway.
  21. quali live on ONE HD tonite.
  22. I wasn't trying to take start anything but I do work on these daily and I am certainly advocating conservative care prior to more invasive care. You are going to find we have 10x more common ground than differences of opinion but what I say stands most of it is factual in science and a little of it is hard won opinion just like yours I like glucosamine just fine just in case you think I am naysayer. I hope Neil gets some benefit out of this as a diversity of opinion (and lets face it you are saying potato and I am saying potaato) should help him get the best outcome and a speedy recovery.
  23. how about posting a price per forum rules?
  24. You can get this sort of dysfunction with mild or non-existent spondylosis as functional changes account for the vast majority of symptoms. However, the likelihood of some spondylosis/degenerative change/osteoarthritic change/wear and tear is higher as we get older. Even with degenerative changes most symptoms start suddenly which tells you something else has changed more recently which triggers the symptoms. Issues with the hand could be anything from elbow/wrist/hand issue right through to thoracic outlet syndrome to spinal nerve irritation. Plain x-ray is the minimum. Glucosamine has very little evidence for helping necks, although there is little harm in using it for helping articular cartilage generally (particularly knees). I would be having a really good look at joint movement in the lower neck and improving this area (chiro, physio etc) and secondly the thoracic outlet, then the carpal tunnel, then wrist/elbow muscles. There is no chance anyone would be sticking cortisone in me until other conservative treatment was exhausted.
