  1. lol We will probably see Schumacher 'pull a Webber' with a slow start and an obscure mechanical failure and Webber will wrestle a failing car for a glorious win, after parking his car across the track in quali.
  2. what are the specs of the turbo? turbine wheel diameter etc. i read the bit about GT30 but this only gives general info about the internals.
  3. Schumacher and Hamilton side by side coming into turn 1. I would pay good money to see how that ends up.
  4. Did Simon-R32 use one of the AVO housings with a 3071 from GCG?
  5. Piquet might be free for that weekend.
  6. What i saw in both races were "racing incidents" but one week we see penalties adjudicated on the spot and next week we see being investigated after the race. The consistency is the issue. Dezz was quali on at 11pm in Melbourne after all? It was definitely 9.55pm in Sydney. Either way it was a good race from the point of view that there are more cars in the mix that can win a race.
  7. Disco, did a small amount of practical testing of a Garrett housing on the weekend
  8. Raikonnen didn't receive a penalty for his contact with Vettel. Interesting how contact one week is a drive thru penalty then the next week it is carry on racing. They are consistent in their inconsistency.
  9. SAFC would be the easiest and cheapest way to get near your target. You won't be able to adjust the timing (as you would with full engine management computers like PowerFC's) but just leaning out the AFR's will help. If you don't care about the auto box smoothness or longevity then a PowerFC or full engine management system will get you where you want to go.
  10. Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Rosberg, Kovalainen, Raikonnen, Button, Nakajima.
  11. Massa hit by metal object from the replays it is hard to tell where it came from? Massa is moving which is good news. Speculation the object came off Barrichello's car.
  12. Nakajima lighting it up.
  13. KERS looks the biz in sector 1. Maclaren's will be tough off the line if they go light in Q3
  14. looks like 9.55pm http://ten.com.au/hdtvguide_search.htm
  15. Looks like ONE HD will show quali live tonite 10pm. The Mac's are back if we can trust practice 3 as a guide.
  16. Which GT30 SK? There are numerous variants over the years from GT3071, GT3076 (3037), GT3040 all with different configurations as you would well know that run the gamut from 56mm to 60mm turbines and compressors with 71mm to 82mm configurations with varying numbers of blades. There is no question the GCG unit is a standout bolt-on option and would be the last person to suggest otherwise but Disco has long talked about going larger on the hot side and this is a great opportunity to do it with a 450hp turbo.
  17. surely a 0.82 will outflow a nissan housing and you only have to look at nytsky's results to see there is plenty of untapped potential there. i agree the HKS housings are a nice bit of kit (and pricey) but a garrett housing should be step up if you want lower exh manifold pressure compared to the nissan housings.
  18. Disco, have you put much thought into a GT3071 with a 0.82 integral turbine housing. This would give you the hot side flow with no chance of choking the 450hp compressor. The cost might be higher for a new dump and intake mods but you get the result you are after with few if any compromises that nissan factory housings might cause.
  19. Hi Daniel The ID tag should be the same as a GT3071 as far as i understand. 56mm cropped turbine and 71mm compressor.
  20. The HKS 2835ProS is a cropped turbine version of the GT3071 so it looks correct.
  21. This site is WAAAY better Better Than MTA Click Here
  22. anywhere around 190rwkw to 210rwkw seems to be the place where a stock turbo, basic mods to exhaust, more boost and engine management should get you (+/-a few depending on dyno's etc). good stuff tommy.
  23. i make it 139kw for the rest of us that live in the metric age.
  24. Webber has hardly brought the big bucks to the teams he has driven for so there is a fair bit of merit to most drivers there with a few notable exceptions from Japan and India in recent years. You need to be a jockey to race formula 1 so that ruled out some great drivers like Walter Rohrl. Clearly the best drivers in the world won't all be 55-65kg runts with massive egos and/or chins.
