  1. for those that wanted Hamilton to earn his stripes driving a "slow car" at the back of the pack your wish has been granted
  2. Webber with a quick in-lap (fastest 1st sector) manages to leapfrog Rosberg and Kovalainen. Nice.
  3. sorry for the lack of response this month, i just got back from overseas. i believe there are 20 ready to go. i will confirm their availability and start the next GB.
  4. forum sponsor Hypergear worth checking out if you are looking for this type of turbo.
  5. with British GP in question another street race coming...... .....can't wait...... snore
  6. Webber has had his share of bad luck and 2nd and 3rd tier car issues but to the best of my knowledge not since the flying car incident he hasn't been in the trees. It is almost certainly something he hasn't tried in F1 although i remember Allan Moffat going into a tree in an RX7 (if memory serves) back when touring cars were cool. Now if you mostly watch news updates you will get a skewed view of how drivers are performing without understanding the machinery they are peddling. Massa is struggling and Button is a potential WDC this year. The news reports 12mths ago would tell you that Button was someone that had potential but never delivered.....the right car and suddenly the roles are reversed.
  7. +1 for Webber fan club he brings no cash like brazilians, indians, japanese drivers yet he has held his seat all this time. he qualifies well and when the car has genuine pace or in the wet he usually goes forward. when the car breaks or he is hit he doesn't like 100% of the other drivers. yesterday he was off the pace by about 0.5sec to 1.0 sec compared to Vettel and this was IMO one of his worst races as there was a stint with little traffic on the harder tyres and he couldn't get any pace out of the car at this point (compared to the times Vettel eked out on the hard tyres. the car set up looked different. one of the top 6 drivers in my book.
  8. Webber = fat guy in gumboots walking thru a bog on the harder tyres
  9. Webber = hot knife thru butter
  10. Unless it rains.....lol It will be out of his hands to get to the top of the field but all he can do is make progress thru the traffic and get some much needed practice, ready for Europe, meanwhile he can cross his fingers and hope something SC related works in his favour.
  11. Vettel looks like he is on track for another win. Hamilton might get off the line quite well and he is a genuine chance with KERS of grabbing a spot or two from the start. 1. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 648.5 kg 2. Timo Glock, Toyota, 643 3. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, 659 4. Jenson Button, Brawn GP, 652.5 5. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 652.5 6. Rubens Barrichello, Brawn GP, 649 7. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 650.5 8. Felipe Massa, Ferrari, 664.5 9. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 670.5 10. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, 671.5 11. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 678.5 12. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 680.9 13. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber, 698.6 14. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber, 696.3 15. Nelson Piquet, Renault, 677.6 16. Sebastien Buemi, Toro Rosso, 678.5 17. Giancarlo Fisichella, Force India, 652 18. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 656 19. Adrian Sutil, Force India, 679 20. Sebastien Bourdais, Toro Rosso, 667.5
  12. Nice work by Trulli taking pole.
  13. webber will get some practice overtaking it seems.
  14. http://www.livestreamtube.com/channel-1/ seems to be working ok
  15. sutil acting as a mobile roadblock has stuffed webbers Q1. vettel quickest so far.
  16. garrett housing have been known to creep. i don't understand why CRD have gone for a T2 based housing but since they seem to have done some testing it is hard to bet against them until the results come back.
  17. is there anything wrong with the factory BOV?
  18. having looked at both graphs it looks like it takes more boost to make similar power. this doesn't prove one way or the other that cams are good value cost/benefit but it seems cams make it breath better. i don't have back to back dyno prints +/- the cams but on the stagea, i was concerned it would lose down low but the car was better everywhere on the road. with a big heavy lump like a stagea carrying an extra 350-400kg it was a genuine concern if we lost down low and we didn't. since there are so many variables with cars, engine condition, temperature, fuel, tuning etc it is hard to get quality back to back testing on a single car let alone comparing two different cars.
  19. if one or the other dropped out then the cars in the field will sound the same, share common parts and look the same......
  20. losing power down low is not my experience.
  21. on the S2 stagea they made more power everywhere so IMO they are a good thing but keep in mind that valve clearances will need to be checked and possibly require re-shimming. there were no losses down low just more grunt everywhere. the time and cost might make it a lot more expensive than you expect so with a great turbo like you have on the way i would go ahead and install it without cams unless you can get the cams for a stupidly cheap price. bass junky and abo bob have threads on this if you search.
  22. geez, some have a short memory, Vettel couldn't match Webber's pace at Sepang in the wet.....a week ago we could say Vettel needed an apologist. this week is Webber's turn. more races needed to separate the two.
  23. perhaps it is running a little rich on part throttle and when it switches out of closed loop you are getting that slight miss.
