  1. check out what the mafia squeezed out of the 0.63 housing on his GT3076. i am pretty sure you can make at least 270rwkw or thereabouts with the 0.63 housing. the compressor will clearly flow more but it should make 250rwkw comfortably.
  2. you should be able to make more power with an adjustable exh cam gear (assuming you are not talking a NEO RB25DET). at the very least you should be able to move the power curve around to where it helps you the most. you can make 5-10kw from midrange to top end.
  3. vacuum leak somewhere? check all your vacuum hoses, from the front of the plenum to the back looking for splits or check for loose hose clamps again.
  4. on the stagea, we have taken the feed from the compressor (pre-intercooler) to the NO port (as listed in manual and is the one next side around from the COM port) then the COM port hose to the actuator. your hose labeled "going somewhere down the front" appears to be plumbed in after the intercooler. on the R33 we have used a feed from the plenum (T'ed and feeding) to the bottom of the ext wastegate and to the NC port. the COM port hose goes to the top of the wastegate.
  5. i will see what i can do later today.
  6. i guess the relatively low boost reading from your dyno Al (relative to the power output) indicates pretty low restriction to flow from the headwork and the cams. is the high boost reading where the turbo stopped making power?
  7. will this new one be a bush bearing? what price point are you looking at once in production?
  8. the turbine housing of the GT3071 GT3040 and of course nissan housings will bolt up to the manifold (+/- spacer as needed for garrett turbos). the factory dump pipe will only fit a nissan housing it won't fit a garrett GT30 turbine housing. the only true "bolt on" is a hiflow of the standard turbo eg. GCG hiflow. the factory oil and water lines obviously go back on and so does the intake and dump. HKS GT-RS comes in kit form with all oil and water lines but bolts up in the standard spot with the factory dump pipe. this is the next closest thing to "bolt on". (ps. both GCG and HKS GT-RS will meet your power target with the best response) every thing else (to the best of my knowledge) has varying levels of modification required to get them working. ie. GT3040 will probably need the engine mount to be machined for clearance.
  9. the GT3071 that you are talking about in this case sounds like it has been shoehorned into a nissan turbine housing. the geniune whole garrett item needs oil and water lines just like the GT3040 plus new dump pipe and new intake.
  10. GCG hiflow, HKS GT-RS. a search will give you all the reasons why. check the 'stickys' at the top of the list here in forced induction for some more leads.
  11. i don't know for sure but i have a set of standard R33 GTS-t radius rods sitting around if you are in sydney and you want to try them out for cheap. unfortunately the S2 standard radius rods i had sitting in the shed have gone walkabout last i looked. if you need a new rods buy adjustable radius rods (noltec or like) they are a great upgrade.
  12. my 2c buy a real GT3076 or HKS version if you are feeling the need, 550cc injectors, Z32 afm and run it around 270-280rwkw with good tuning on the standard bottom end will be enough to keep you going for a while. this should save you a pile of cash in the short term. gradually assemble the parts for a forged bottom end if you are feeling the need.
  13. slight correction 023 168L/h @ 5bar 044 200L/h @ 5bar
  14. pretty sure it is a vaccum line from the plenum to the charcoal cannister or somesuch. (i haven't gone up to check precisely yet) has it been idling poorly?
  15. if you spring for a can of black spray paint JP the Zed could look the same...
  16. i have been using K&N filters for over 7 years and this isn't an issue with a correctly oiled filter. regular maintenance of the filter and a squirt of electrical contact cleaner on the afm wire is pretty easy.
  17. .....and in unrelated news David Coulthard has been having a great time touring Tasmania.
  18. US website so USD$399 = AUD$617
  19. +1 it's not like the current cars are that good looking with the shark fin and OTT winglets. if the racing is good then that's what matters. if this doesn't work then Bernie should look into hosing tracks down randomly thru the race skidpan style to keep the racing interesting.
  20. AUD $2000 + postage would be a deal breaker for most aussies.
