  3. the pics have obviously not migrated to the new format. ask trust why they use bushbearing turbos?!? i was supplied with this turbo by a workshop as a way of getting back on the road for a reasonable price. for those choosing to go back to stock or looking for a cheap replacement for a damaged turbo with a little higher hp ceiling this might suit. it is much younger and is in better condition than many 2nd hand standard R33 turbos. if you need more pics or wish to inspect the turbo it is no problem.

  5. have you had a quick look at the various vacuum lines for leaks? they get old and split and perhaps the temperature change is making it leak more and then hunt.
  6. good stuff nick. about time we had something to cheer on around here. you are a positive force around here and i know i won't be the only person wishing you all the best with the next round of modifications.
  7. my guess $1950 is the headline price for a ball bearing hi-flow with you supplying a turbo or an exchange price. my guess is $1100 is a bush bearing hi-flow price. $1750 is the group buy ball bearing price. i could be wrong but calling GCG is the easiest way to clear up what's what.
  8. i just installed legend01's old set up with extrude honed HKS cast manifold and extrude honed GT3040 front and rear. it is difficult to compare the set up against the standard gear but the extrude honing is dead sexy when you feel it. the cast metal feels like oily glass after the extrude honing i doubt an extrude honed manifold is worth 20kw but it seems to bring things on a little earlier and i guess with more even runner flow, tuning can be more accurate with more equal cylinder efficiencies?!?. i am thinking about extrude honing my spare stock manifold to go on the other car at some point nevertheless.

  10. kimi's missus is probably considered ugly in her home town now she is more than 23 yrs old.
  11. turbo is on HOLD pending receipt of deposit.
  12. the turbo was supplied to me by a workshop when the original turbine let go. i was never given the original Precision invoice. it was run on 12psi day to day but had been run on the dyno at 14psi. peak power made was 220rwkw but since it was a daily driver i turned the bleed valve down a whisker. the ID tag is in the pictures and i spoke to John at Precision today about the turbo. he tells me it would be difficult but not impossible to find the precise details in the archive as they only have 2-3yrs on hand. i measured what was visible from the outside on the guidance/suggestion of John and as stated above this was the measurements and his informed opinion as to the expected hp range and that it was what they call a stage 1 rebuild.
  13. i have both left and right castor arms if you haven't found them yet.
  14. there is a group buy on the GCG hi-flow if you search which brings the price down to about $1750 last i checked. a 2530 is a lower hp rated turbo. there are a billion threads on which turbo and why but a GCG hi-flow is probably the cheapest upgrade (and getting all new rotating parts etc.) if you include all costs from removal to replacement.

  19. why do you specifically want a Catco? the current bosimporting cat looks the biz, the metalcat looks the biz etc etc. they all seem to flow near enough the same to make decent power.
