  1. it has been covered to death in forced induction which sometimes makes it hard to find due to the number of "its been covered a million times" posts. if you want a reliable and reasonably priced upgrade then the most reliable choices are: 1. GCG hiflow $1800ish straight bolt on. wait till your turbo fails and then send it away to be rebuilt with all new internals. 2. HKS GT-RS $2300ish straght bolt on. seems to work slightly better than the GCG hiflow but it is a very close thing additionally you can sell your old turbo for $300-500 both of these turbo do not require a new dump pipe and as stated are bolt on both will make around 250rwkw +/- 20kw. 3. HKS 2835 ProS $3000 (kit with all the bits oil water lines, short dump etc) 4. GT3071 or GT3076 but will require oil water lines and a new dump and possibly some intake modifications. there are lots of other options but consistently these seem to come up with predictable and pleasing results. other cheaper turbos have variable results so why take the risk?
  2. the bosimporting 5" cats are not catco anymore. the external design is identical (as far as i can see) the welding was decent on mine and it looks for all money like it will flow as well as any other 5" bodied cat on the market. on bellmouths, back to back we made a little more power everywhere with a bellmouth than with an expensive name brand split dump at or around 230-250rwkw. don't rule out the bellmouth dump as being inferior. i think it is a close thing between them, perhaps higher power levels/exhaust flows are needed to see a clear advantage?!?! in some cases the extra money for a split may be better being spent elsewhere.
  3. or why not use your extensively modified head on an RB30?
  4. adam jim berry will probably give you more for the clutch than you are asking so allowing for some postage you would have your cash in the bag.
  5. we need a thread on this remote control tuning.
  6. engine check light may come on for a few reasons. knock sensor warning injector warning airflow warning cas fault i think the cat temp sensor triggers it too. bound to be a few more reasons. if it wasn't under load it is unlikely it is knock, airflow or injector warnings. so maybe cat temp sensor or something left field like a loose connection to the CAS. a consult post or going manual by putting the car into diagnostic mode after the fault reappears might be the go. somewhere in the stickys is the method for diagnostic mode.
  7. did the engine check light come on under load?
  8. the standard dump pipe flange fits the HKS GT-RS.
  9. i got an email reply from bosimporting last week so there shouldn't be an issue with them.
  10. ok i take back soft..... ....... and i go with blancmange, 44DDD's, warm butter, new towel straight out of a dyer and a shandy. great drive regardless.
  11. hamilton was in a class of his own. although adam i hope you can admit the passes on massa and piquet were pretty soft. geez even webber would have passed them. kovalainen bent over but what was to be gained by making it hard for hamilton when he was lapping (in the same car?!!) so much faster. 2 laps from the finish i would have puked but he has done the correct thing by his team.
  12. call just jap their cheapy radiators are pretty well regarded by a few track guys for price/function.
  13. beats me exactly why beyond heat. the neo's seem to suffer more. either way it is a known problem that they fail if you want to fix it you either cover them high temp silicone them or buy new ones.
  14. Heidfeld is a sly dog. his teams go slow strategies seem to have unfolded in his favour again. edit: oops he didn't pit either.
  15. nope need a HD digi box.
  16. 10HD fine here. lol RD made a $50 bet her name is Ingeborg and she likes pork sausage.....and a lager. speak of the devil there was some frying on the griddle. she didn't like beer and it looks like he lost the bet.
  17. lol situation normal?!!? just for a change i am going for webber to make up 1 place on the first lap. today is the day he doesn't bog it down. trulli to lose 2-3 places. hamilton to run away with it and then $100 on him saying he had plenty in reserve (just like he did in quali) just to give everyone something to bitch and moan about for 3-4 days after. Q. Lewis is growing sideburns because a. elvis is da king and he is compensating b. he doesn't have sensational roger ramjet chin like MW and DC and he is compensating c. his dad didn't tell him he loved him enough (???) and he is compensating. d. he is quicker than everyone else tonite and winners can do as they please.
  18. heat is the natural enemy of the coil pack as far as i know. RBxxDET = lots of heat nestled in betweem both cams with a nice cover to seal the heat in. time does the rest.
  19. polished covers are sold. head sold pending payment.
  20. i bought an electric supercharger (adds huge hp) and super vortex fuel saver (save fuel and add more hp) from the same guy..... .....actually nah, i didn't. sorry to hear about your misfortune. did you contact Ebay and notify them?
  21. it is going to improve things on increases throttle changes not steady state driving as the factory ecu will lean it back to stoic if the O2 sensor is working on steady state. ultimately the best option is full engine management but the SAFC is TOTALLY WORTH IT (i'm with tangles).
  22. it just occurred to me that with the demise of Toro Rosso..... ....the RBR cars have 2 less chances of being hit. so one less reason for a DNF next season.
  23. holy spinning vortex generator..... ....out of the Batmobile and into the Batboat. the diversity of cars at Superlap made it a great day for me, from the slot car, the lotuses, the landcruiser, the RB20 screaming its...err bosoms off etc. hopefully some softer rear springs on the batmobile will work better (in combo with the new swaybars) and you can get at least 350 of the 456kw down next time.
