  1. more positive castor makes a difference although stageas will only let you wind on a smaller amount than skylines. worthwhile investment. i have the noltec adjustable rods rather than whiteline bushes.
  2. GT-RS is a good thing, you will most likely need a Z32 AFM and injectors. you might squeeze out enough performance out of your standard injectors with a fuel pressure regulator. the GT-RS will probably make a little more down low, midrange and with similar power up top over a hi-flow but it is a close thing.
  3. nengun have them delivered for about $2200 (sorry if imissed where you said you wanted 2nd hand) http://www.nengun.com/hks/turbo-kit-gt-sports
  4. buy the T3 flanged one.
  5. the GT3071 depending on the turbine GT30 (either 56m or 60mm) and 71mm compressor is approx 450hp allowing some variance on turbine housing used and compressor trim. the GT30R or GT3076 is usually 60mm turbine and 76mm compressor which will range around 500hp (again give or take). the GT2876 is worth avoiding. (compressor too big for the turbine) HKS GTRS is a GT2871 with a 53mm turbine (with HKS T3 housing and 71mm compressor (56 trim)(approx 400hp but seem to make a little more) and is borderline for compressor surge but as a bolt on they spool-up quickly on an RB25 and should be a good thing on an RB20 but the 2530 seems to meet your power goals and should be a little bit easier to spool up but a little less top end.
  6. "come on man", lol i'm coming on think about the volume of each cylinder (SR20 and RB20) and each exhaust pulse that is generated. larger pulses excite turbines faster/easier.
  7. a four cylinder will spool up larger turbos faster than an equivalent sized six cylinder so i would be cautious comparing SR20 results.
  8. sound deadening is 100% worth it. 4-5kg is hardly going to tip your fuel economy over the edge. excepting the door trim there is almost no other deadening in the doors.
  9. the lack of a check valve at the bottom of the 044 can be irritating as i understand it.
  10. i hope the zip ties are resistant to petrol.....i say clamps FTW what power outputs are you looking for nick. the bosch 984 has a hose end on the bottom, is shorter than the 044 and flows a bit more than an 040. the 044 is a little tight in the tank of an R33 but i have no idea about stagea fuel tanks. alternatively the higher output walbro is smaller and easier to fit or perhaps a nismo pump from nengun. the 044 is a great pump for its flow rates but you shouldn't need it. so i would select any of the above and whichever one is easiest to fit. time = money
  11. it doesn't matter whether it was a stagea or R33 IF money was no object i would choose the 2835 Pro S over the GTRS. however, the pricing you are quoting isn't quite correct. (i think you are quoting the turbo on its own) the GTRS kit from nengun is $2545.64 and bolts straight up to your dump pipe and has all lines, hoses etc. the factory heat shield can be modified to fit pretty easily. the HKS 2835 Pro S kit delivered is $3234.78 including all water and oil lines, a new heat shield (from memory) and the HKS short split dump pipe (turbo won't bolt up to exhaust without it) which may mean you will need to get a new front pipe or modify your existing one. the difference in price isn't quite $1k (apologies the price difference has narrowed a lot since i last looked) but it might need a little more fiddling on the exhaust side. on the correctly specced GT3071 i mean one with a 60mm turbine. listen to the mafia on GT3076 selection.
  12. i have a HKS GTRS on the stagea and it is a really nice bit of gear, it made slightly more power everywhere over a GCG hi-flow. if i could chose again and money was irrelevant i would buy the HKS 2835 ProS to get the slightly larger turbine (56mm vs 53mm) and therefore slightly higher headroom but more importantly lower exhaust side restriction (efficiency improvement). there would be marginally slower spool (but a pretty close thing). the cost differential is not small, so that would make it worthwhile looking at a correctly specced GT3071 or GT3076. i bet you would be stoked with a HKS GTRS as it will (pretty much) do what you want for a much lower price than the 2835 Pro S and leave $1k in your pocket. (approx)
  13. if you want bolt-on, HKS 2835 ProS fits the bill. still worth looking at a GT3071 or GT3076 as a comparison though GT-RS will be a little short of puff but a great streetable turbo.
  14. the weight of a GTR is not a factor?? 4kg's in the doors isn't exactly performance sapping.
  15. sooooo what did u get nick?
  16. 1x pipe available ***SOLD*** $135 plus delivery ***SOLD*** immediate delivery on payment for postage or pick up in sydney.
  17. i have a spare pipe if anyone needs one for immediate delivery.
  18. URAS where can i buy a flex-a-lite fan?
  19. tangles, allowing 60kw for drivetrain loss on a manual, does the slushbox suck about 10-15kw extra.
  20. no FMIC or SITC and 10psi so all round a good result. congrats.
  21. received 1 of 2 pipes today. i presume the other is on its way.
