  1. the R34 powerFC (ie RB25DET neo) is not the correct version. i don't know for a fact that the plug would be different for the R33 powerFC on the stagea. i would have thought the same engine = same loom plug. (i do not know for certain) there is only one minor difference on the R34 plug for the S2 stageas. if terminal is correct it will still be possible but will need more work. someone with FAST should be able to clear up the plug question pretty quickly.

  3. S1 stagea should have the RB25DET (not neo) therefore the R33 PowerFC should be the go. i will make a bet it plugs straight in. hardwiring ATESSA is not necessary. (certainly not an issue on the S2 stagea) the issue that needs working around on the R34 powerfc's for an S2 stagea is not a feature on R33 powerfc's.

  5. afaik splitfires are exactly the same as OEM but cheaper by the half dozen if you use any of the SAU sponsors rather than a nissan dealer.

  7. oxford has the manual version and they are different. there is a fair bit of evidence that the manual versions have R33 GTR running gear hence some parts that were expected to fit do not.

  10. latest price from nengun for HKS GT-RS is $2534. as posted before it can be done cheaper buying something without a HKS tag but there is more running around.
  11. there is no boost cut, the ECU goes into rich and retard based on AFM voltage ie airflow. there are numerous threads in forced induction on the same issue.

HKS GT-RS is more or less a GT2871 ready to bolt on with all lines elbows etc for around $2700. this will get you into your power range. certainly you can do it cheaper with garrett gear directly but dale will probably attest to a little running around to achieve his results. when time = money buying a bolt-on might be the go.
  14. rear swaybar is larger and has a slightly different profile around the exhaust. the rear shocks are a fork type. HICAS and more...
  15. ian, it seems there is a little extra fruit and we are just discovering it now, it certainly makes the idea of a manual conversion seem like the hard way. ps. i have a set of standard S2 manual sway bars which are an upgrade for auto stageas if anyone is interested.
  16. well i can confirm a few things about series 2 manual stageas. the rear sway bar is a 24mm hollow (vs 19mm auto) the rear shocks have a forked bottom (vs eye auto) i think the front swaybar is larger than the auto (but i need to find it in the garage) almost certainly, from talking to SK, the manual is made up from the R33 GTR parts bin. i think cruisey is spot on.
  17. should be easy enough to get and external gate housing but what we really want is someone to buy and internal gate version and give us the good oil on outputs and response....so we can bludge off the knowledge.
  18. we dyno'ed before and after (cat was in backward). no difference in our case.
  19. we didn't touch the diff ratios. we fiddled too much with too many things the diff would have killed me.
  20. i was mainly asking for my R33 but FYI the Stagea is a S2 manual and has a powerfc fitted.
  21. disco, would using using a GT3071 with .82A/R and the largest trim 71mm compressor end up being about the same or similar spot as a .63A/R on the GT3076 52 trim?
  22. i used 0.6mm aluminium to make one on a previous car. 1.0mm is hard work to bend by hand but 0.6mm works a treat. i have a little lying around if you need a small sheet.

  24. i will have a pair of rear shocks from a series 2 stagea available in the next week or so. if this is of interest let me know. (replacing all four, (leak in front left) so i'll have a front and 2 rears in serviceable condition)
