  1. how do you explain the openings on V8 supercars?? they are much smaller than the cores. the aperture doesn't need to be the exact size of the core for maximum efficiency. the standard cooler has an aperture that is adequate to allow flow across its core as air is slowed as it passes thru. the extra advantage that a SMIC has is the lower pressure area behind the core (even a negative pressure into the wheelarch). the limitation is the size of the core and internal design more than anything.

  9. dragonball, why not buy a real GT3071 (60mm turbine minus the housing) and bolt on a HKS internally gated exhaust housing (from a 3037) or wait for garrett to produce them (very soon to be available). keep it low mounted and whatever you spend getting it specced you save on the manifold etc.
  10. i have an SS commodore VT Series2 2000, log books, 114,000km many many extras. i know it isn't located in adelaide but car transport is not expensive and happy to provide any info or checks required. pm me if interested and a list of extras.
  11. pretty much as you describe, i understand the atessa (located in the rear) takes an rpm and speed signal from the ECU. the issue for me will be can an R34 powerFC be shoehorned into the stagea, still waiting for a copy of the pinouts to send to the tuner to see how hard it will be to modify one. i prefer the powerFC due to the overwhelming support of them/currently use one on an R33. however, if i get stuck i am looking for a decent alternative.
  12. correction: manual neo stagea so all but the same as R34 with atessa controlled awd.
  13. interested whether it would run a neo stagea, the ATESSA is potentially the stumbling block (or not)
