    Yep to the above or stick the thing in 2WD mode with key on pump brake pedal sequence and see if it changes anything.

    Hi Tom I have played around with sheet ally and ACL heat shield. It always seems worthwhile but probably not much of a measurable performance gain, more a case of keeping heat away from rubber pipes and there is the benefit of less heat on the intake piping and plenum. There are some pics in my FS thread if you want to the more overt stuff.

    No harm in raising the idle a bit to 900rpm o settle the timing fluctuation but I would still check every vacuum hose for a splits and check intercooler hoses.

    Hunting at idle...more often than not is a simple intake leak. Time to go around the car and wave a screwdriver over all hoses and clamps and inspect all the vacuum hoses.

    Kill them fire has been the general consensus (for Nissan arse ended housings mated to Garrett front ends). Hard to look past a Hypergear turbo these days considering money/performance/support.

    Sorry for assuming you hadn't read the whole post. If you read down further from the first post Andy gives a reason for doing it the first way but it is completely up to you.

    pin 51 of PFC should be TC. Give it 3.6-3.7v and checklight should go out.
