  1. I don't remember the outcome but did the throttle stick on the test car and how is De Villota travelling now?
  2. Do you have one decent clutch hub? Thinking laterally, rather paying up for a new hub is it worth considering buying a 42mm buck choy core?
  3. Series 2 drivers door trim should have about 3 screws across the bottom, one under a cap mid door under the controls, one in the pocket. The door handle/lever trim will pop out with a carefully placed screwdriver under the lever surround near the front. From memory the controls with also pop out with a carefully placed flat screwdriver but I would removed the other screws and there should be enough play to remove the loom plug without removing the controls. It has been so long since I did it that I can't remember all the steps. I presume there should be more detailed instructions in the DIY section or if it fails then look in the general DIY section. The search button is your friend, make sure you have a search since it will almost certainly have been covered before.
  4. I am glad you fixed it without pulling them out.
  5. Would the pressure drop using a normal sized cooler with a streetable turbo that is being leaned upon to the point it isn't making more power?
  6. I thought that the pressure would measurably drop with charge temperature coming down and the turbulators inside the core would also account for some pressure drop.
  7. I have the feeling Kimi wouldn't care who his engineer was as long as they kept quiet until asked a question.
  8. If there was no pressure drop then I would be wondering if any cooling has occurred.
  9. The RS4S has all the same gauges, the same HICAS, the same bigger stronger driveshaft, the same bigger anti roll bars. What it doesn't have is an FMIC, multi throttle bodies/front facing plenum or twin turbos, although it does have VCT. If you add up the cost of bolting on the missing bits, the ease of changing turbos then the RS4S should bring you out ahead financially for similar performance. There is nothing magical about either engine when it comes to making power, with decent parts and good tuning they will both make enough power for a streetable car but I would strongly suggest not oversizing the turbo/s to get a big headline power figure as it will hurt the drivability down low. These things are pretty heavy and you need all the help you can get like VCT etc to make power where you can use it. Ultimately you should buy whatever makes you happy because both are pretty good things.
  10. At least they would look in their mirrors....
  11. Bernie has a couple of rich daughters.....
  12. Dunc, I think it is plumbed into the plenum pre BOV from what I can see. It doesn't look like the FPR from the tiny image I am looking at.
  13. Anyone game to put their hand up and say they remember Nee-san's wang?
  14. 555cc injectors should get you there
  15. Pretty good power at 16psi, who tuned it?
  16. You need to diagnose the issue accurately before you pull out lifters and clean them.
  17. hydraulic lifters in S1.
  18. Accusing Nando of playing politics while sticking the boot into Chin at this stage of the season is priceless hypocrisy.
  19. No comparison to the stocker was tested. It sounds like yours might be fouling but it still might be easier to get a bellmouth than frig around die grinding and then refitting and testing. I reckon you will come up trumps either way.
  20. I back to back tested a name brand split with a good bell mouth and the bellmouth outperformed the split by a whisker. I had no issues with fouling of the wastegate. I put down the slight improvement to having a larger area for gas expansion just outside the turbine for the gains observed. Probably the harder you push the car the more the split helps when there are more gases being wasted. Given that the performance difference was minimal (in my case slightly less with a split) but the price difference is significant why pay more for it? Either will do the job well enough.
  21. I bet he is quaking in his boots with fear and anxiety....not.
  22. ... and here is a link but you need to be careful when crimping as they are quite delicate. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/O2-Power-Feed-Sensor-Plug-Nissan-RB-SR-3-Pin-/220743549929
