  1. I still don't understand why you would go to all the trouble to mount such a large bodied pump in there with all the extra frigging around when the price and availability of in-tank pumps is so good these days compared to 7-10 years ago.
  2. I wrote up a DIY for a bosch 984 many years ago (which is almost exactly the same to install as an 044) but your life will be much easier these days with a some of smaller framed fuel pumps with all the bits in the bag.
  3. They should be into this arvo Mick. No takers on the porridge but everyone thanks you for the offer.
  4. I see your Nando and raise you a Flava Flav. I am not surprised Nando can pull a lingerie model. Flav shows that what you lack in looks, manners, personal hygiene and good taste can be overcome with money.
  5. I'm with Bob buy them. It is inevitable that coils on a neo will fail. I am not usually a fan of buying parts just in case but there is almost no downside in buying stock coils for that price. Make sure you buy coils for an R34GT-t / neo RB25DET not the R33 in that Ebay advert. Alternatively buy a can of crc urethane seal coat and give the coils a good even spray it will keep you going for a good while in most cases.
  6. No known advantage of OEM over Splitfires or vise versa.
  7. Cool, with all the gear coming out of china it is hard to tell what is the real McCoy and what is a copy in the same casing.
  8. Red gasket goo on the external gate outlet...slightly caught fire on the dyno. Perhaps not the best thing to use that close to the hot side of an engine if there is oxygen present. A case of, can you smell something burning?? Umm yep.
  9. That's is what you say when you quit or get fired from the team.
  10. Splitfires or new OEM coils will be needed at some point on a neo engine however you don't need to replace them unless they are breaking down. Unfortunately if they break down under load on the dyno then that is the end of the tuning session. Your call on this one. Fuel pump...yes. A manual boost controller will do the job like TurboTech if you are going for electronic then Profec B is pretty reliable and not too expensive. What plugs did you use? Are those actually OEM coils in that advert or "OEM quality"??
  11. Which HG turbo? A simple rebuild/hiflow yes other HG turbos no. Don't forget labour. Getting back to the OP I am still not convinced his turbo has anything wrong with it since it still makes boost so the best thing is to correctly diagnose what is happening before buying any parts. ps. my daily driver has had a whole lot more than $1k spent on turbos over the years...like most SAU'ers.
  12. The HG turbo needs to magic itself onto the car for it to only cost $800-1000. Its the hidden extras, like intake pipes, exhaust mods, injectors, AFM's, oil/water lines, stud replacement etc that some turbos require that is a hidden cost to upgrading. Buying the parts is the easy part.
  13. It beats me why someone doesn't calculate from the swept volume. My best guess is fast, really really fast.
  14. Actually brothers run it. The injectors that might have suspect spray patterns were the hi-flowed stock injectors. They are all tested by DW and flow matched but some hi-flowed injectors have shitty spray patterns. They may flow the headline number but dribble fuel at other times. This has been observed on a number of sets when tested. If you have top feeds they were always new stock and there should be no issue with them as such it is pretty irrelevant to be comparing them to old hi-flowed sidefeeds. The current sidefeeds are all from new stock.
  15. Yeah and Jono watches heaps...
  16. The top feeds were always new from DW. Guilt Toy is rightly referring to some hi-flowed injectors whose spray pattern was poo. I have DW 550cc in my R33 and they are fine but not every set is the same.
  17. Maybe Bernie can replace one of them with a nice street circuit in somewhere hospitable like Iran.
  18. They use new feedstock for sidefeeds nowadays.
  19. The slug is fine just a few little things that need a tidy up. Out in the boondocks on Saturday so we can compare notes as soon as I finish.
  20. Are they tuning it tonite or tomorrow? The fat slug is going in on Thurs for tidy up and to sort a couple of minor issues.
  21. If you live in Western Sydney then you are set. They are located in sunny Girraween.
  22. Yep one around every corner but not all them are worth visiting. Another one for unigroup here.
  23. Yeah all that stuff was in the pack. I better double check all the passes just in case there is a cockup.
  24. It's all in the sig, it isn't obsession, it is his job description. Cheif Minister of RB20 propaganda TD06-20G! Ridding the world of fossil fuels!
