  1. Haha I had an interesting one the other day, was driving my mum's Excel (ugh), the piece of shit coughed and spluttered and meant I had trouble taking off from the lights. A bloke in a silver late model Magna was behind me, obviously upset that I'd impeded his progress, yelled out the window "come on you ditzy farkin bitch!!". Obviously he couldn't see me through the louvres and Winnie the Pooh merchandise (yes it's a very tough car), so he was very surprised when a a solid 6ft bloke with a shaved head leaned out the window, gave him the finger and said, through gritted teeth, "GO F*CK YOURSELF". He just wound the window back up and patiently waited for me to get the shitbox going again Not so tough when someone stands up to them. The best one though was when a mate of mine in his Corolla was being harassed by some bogans in an XF wagon. They stopped at a set of lights, four of them got out of the car and made their way over to the Rolla. Mate just smiled and said "I wouldn't do anything stupid if I were you", and pointed at the 45-odd people who were on the same cruise as him :bahaha: LTSJase: Quality
  2. The R33 ECU is not 'chippable' as such. The easiest way is to get a PowerFC, but if you're after a cheaper alternative, you can retrofit an R32 ECU (which is rechippable) and have that retuned. That's my understanding anyway, I just bought a PowerFC because one came up at the right price, and I'd just bolted up a new turbo. And yes, stay away from off-the-shelf hot up chips.
  3. 7 hours and you didn't notice you'd coloured in the intercooler piping? Nah just kidding, nice job, especially for a first effort! Black is a fair bit harder to work with for colour changes.
  4. Hehe yeah the new GSXR1000 will do something like 160km/h in first. Hell, even mine does an indicated 134 in first, 188 in second, well over 200 in 3rd etc. On a side note, most bikes these days have a digital speedo. No point, just thought I'd mention it as the question was asked a few posts earlier But anyway, I can't see it happening. It's just another opportunity for a few morons to get their names mentioned on TV again.
  5. Dude I would be replacing the locks, not just getting another set of keys for the same locks made up. They have your keys, and once you're in, it doesn't take long to disable the alarm...
  6. Haha it's even got British number plates! Yes $10k is a joke, but i reckon you'd be surprised how many people would fall for this kind of thing. Look at the Nigerian scams...
  7. Wierd... maybe it's for an R32 GTR? Who knows... either way, thanks for posting it up
  8. Well ok, it's an exaggeration, but it's not far off The street I'm in crosses a main road, so it's split into eastern and western sides. On the eastern side, which I'm on, the police that (eventually) arrived at our house said that we were most definitely not the first. I don't remember the exact figures (it was a while ago) but something like 85% of houses on the eastern end of the street had been hit, and something like 60% of houses within a few blocks. But regardless, we could identify our curtains in one window (yes, the maggots stole them ) and our mower was sitting in the front yard. As soon as this family moved out, crime in our suburb dropped to almost nothing (like it was before they moved in). One officer we spoke to about it said that basically them investigating would be a waste of time, because due to them being of a particular racial background, they'd get a slap on the wrist, and that's if the process made it through the mountains of extra paperwork and red tape and eventually made it to prosecution. If that's not racist, I don't know what is.
  9. Too easy. Hope it all goes well for you, good luck. Post up pics when you get your wheels
  10. Yes, but as absolutely ridiculous as it was, technically I was in the wrong as the car was unregistered, and by the letter of the law, I was driving it on the road. Also, being (I think) 18 at the time, and the fact that I was related to someone with a horrendous driving history (despite having an absolutely clean record myself), they probably felt like they had to teach me a lesson. Either way, the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. They waiting at least half an hour for me to do something wrong, yet took 4 hours+ to turn up after our house was broken into, 2 hours to arrive when a guy was closed-fist bashing the crap out of a woman in the middle of the street (we stepped in and broke it up, but that's not the point), wouldn't take action when every house in our street except one was broken into, and the house that was left had stolen equipment visible through windows, etc etc. Seems kind of lop-sided to me.
  11. Point to the bit where I was rude. All I did was offer advice and say: In other words, re-read the document and you'll have your answers.I fail to see how interpreting the document you were too lazy to properly read (and providing you with an answer to the question you asked) is negative input. I have not picked on you for talking to your mates on a forum. Maturity is a lot more than cutting and pasting quotes... and perhaps you should take your own advice.
  12. Are you 15? Cause you seem pretty immature and abusive for someone who's asking for help.
  13. All of the answers are there in black and white, people's life stories have nothing to do with your not reading the document properly. If you're still worried, get the sizes of the wheel/tyre setup you want, and contact an engineer (or "signatory" as the RTA document refers to them). They'll tell you for sure if the wheels and tyres adhere to the rules in the document, and if they don't, but they deem them to be safe, they can issue you with an engineer's certificate, which makes them legal anyway.
  14. Read the document in your first post. These are the ones that apply to you: and So... as has been mentioned previously, as long as the overall rolling diameter of the wheel/tyre combo remains within 15mm of stock (by putting lower-profile tyres on bigger rims, which you'd do anyway), you don't go more than an inch wider in the rim (any sized tyre is fine, as long as it fits on the rim safely), and you don't make the track more than 26mm wider than stock, you're fine. Why the confusion? You put a link to all the answers in your first post!
  15. My brother was a very bad boy (by 18 he'd racked up something like $15k in fines), they must have been watching the house waiting for him to slip up. Unfortunately I did something extremely minor but that I could technically be booked for, and by the time they realised I wasn't him (he used my name a fair bit I found out later), it was either too late as they'd already started writing the tickets, or they thought "woohoo, we've just made $500, who cares who we've caught". I wrote letters and everything but ended up having to pay it anyway. The people up the road reckon the pursuit car was waiting outside their house (hiding behind parked cars) for around 30 mins, then it valve-bounced down the street after me. Effective use of resources I was always brought up to respect police, but from that day on I lost almost all respect I ever had for traffic cops. A couple of decent ones have restored a bit of it (like the undue noise one), but on the whole I don't have much time for them.
  16. I thought fuel pumps always worked at the same speed, and the fuel pressure regulator returned excess fuel from the rail to the tank via the return line???
  17. I think the question was, why is it sometimes quiet? I don't know, but I'd be wondering if it wasn't loose on the bracket. Sometimes it sits nicely so it doesn't move, sometimes (hit a bump or something) it'll vibrate against something and obviously you'll hear the noise. If it's not that, then without more info (or someone who knows of common problems with these pumps) you might have trouble getting answers.
  18. Edit: misread post... oops
  19. It is a very nice car, I wouldn't be disappointed if I was thrown the keys Personally I'm not a big fan of the black wheels, some brighter wheels (not necessarily chrome) to balance the graphic up the side would be a good thing. Interior looks nice too, a splash of colour without going overboard. Well done!!
  20. I'm 25 in a few months and (touch wood) I'm yet to lose a point. But I have been done for: Unregistered/uninsured: Moving car from one driveway to the other at my house. Total distance: 10m. Cost: $480. Involuntary undue noise: $240, no points. Given that you've been driving for 12 years I would say that your record is fairly normal - not fantastic, but not uncommon either. It really depends on the circumstances of the offenses as to whether you're a more reckless driver than most though, for example, if your drifting adventures are in a deserted industrial estate or something, bad luck, but if they're in traffic, then tuff shit
  21. Yeah scan it in, for some reason (dodgy compliance I'm guessing) my R33 has an R32 GTSt tyre placard. It doesn't cause me any problems atm as I have 17x8 DriftR's with Falken ZE512 235/45ZR17s on it, I'd just like to have the right placard if I could. By the way, is there any reason 17's aren't an option? Tyres are a little bit cheaper, you can go slightly higher profile so it'll ride nicer and, if you choose your wheels carefully, don't "look" an inch smaller than many 18s. Hint: buy wheels with dish
  22. Awww... Mike It was a good day, but there will be others! Hehe the boy learns quickly
  23. Nah, it's for sale but not sold yet. Interested?
  24. Similar to the ones here in Aus (or Qld at least, dunno about everywhere else). The only difference is that ours is a 3 point loss and $135 fine... Y50,000 seems pretty steep! How do you use a mobile phone on a motorbike? It's a bit hard to hear through the helmet
  25. Aww shucks... glad you enjoyed it! Massive Skyline Cruise should be awesome!! I can't wait either
