I've got my old one lying around too if you don't have any luck elsewhere. It's out here at Ipswich though.

~~Rb25 turbo for sale~~
Revhead replied to nizmokid's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
My friend said she'll buy it if it hasn't gone already. PM me if/when you want to offload it and we can talk -
Ah well, you missed out on pizza
-
I can make it, so I'll see you guys there at 12

I might be able to make it on sunday if I'm able to wriggle out of some boring family commitments. The funny thing is, if enough people turn up, we won't need to mail them out!! Ironic or what? I agree that we need some people with more spare time to help organise things, between myself, Gary and slip we have very little free time. Maybe we could discuss this and try to come up with some kind of resolution on Sunday? Drewe, follow the link in my sig

Sorry to dig up an oldish thread (ok, less than a week, but anyway...) but I think that with a little getting used to, the new classifieds format is much MUCH better than the old one. Yes we're all used to the old format, but have a flick through and the photos, price and location in the thread list is awesome, as is the automatic housekeeping (ie auto-delete of old items). I've posted up a couple of problems in the bugs section including the group buys one by the way. All in all, good work champ, I'm impressed if that counts for anything -
Nah I thought the bikini comp was good. Call me cynical but I think a bikini comp should be about who looks best in a bikini, not who's willing to take the most off. Respect to the other two for keeping their gear ON.

I think the pool was a good move...

Thanks to those who came up and had a quick chat, it's nice to put a few more faces to names. Well done Squizz on the 12.4

I'll be there, but won't be able to cruise with you guys, unless you want to get there about 6am... I'll be doing "security" at the Sound Off Mobile Installations stall, come and say hello and buy some stereos and alarms There is no Maccas at Redbank from memory (well, I think there's one in the shopping centre), maybe you're thinking of McGoodna? There is something out the back of the centre though, I think it's KFC or Red Rooter or something. Or you could drive into Ipswich a bit and eat at Maccas at Booval, or there's a Hungry Jacks and KFC within about a kay of Maccas. Whatever. If you wanna know where the fast food joints are in Ipswich, I'm your man

S1 has an ignitor module on the top of the coil cover, S2 just has a plug. S1 also has a different TPS I believe, though I'm not sure what's different about it. Afaik they're mechanically the same.

quick question on gearboxes
Revhead replied to xr8eater's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes you can use an auto ECU, I have seen many over the years doing exactly this. All you have to do is short the neutral cutout switch, so that the ECU permanently sees neutral. The mixtures are out a bit as the ECU sees neutral when you're obviously in gear and putting load on the engine, and apparently the mapping is different between the two as well. -
I *love* the sound of a tough V8! Especially blown, and *especially* with a couple of massive turbos! If money was no object, a TTV8 would right up there on my list of things to get. But yeah, chatting to a guy at the Brisbane Motor Show who was one of the Ford engineers on the XR6T design team, he said something about turbo lag, I said to him "I quite like it, without that, there's no rush of torque is there?". Got him thinking anyway. So a win Even these days I enjoy it, I take off easy and hold about half throttle in first, then at around 3-3.5k the turbo spins up to 7psi, the tyres scrabble for grip and we're away And hills are good too, as the engine loads up the turbo spools and it holds its speed with little or no extra throttle. Magic. One thing I've noticed in mainstream car mags though is that they rag on a car if it has any noticeable turbo lag whatsoever, like it's a bad thing. No, what they're experiencing is what the engine is like unassisted, then the rush as the turbo comes on song. A turbo engine is a different beast to a NA motor, criticising it for feeling different despite being superior in most ways seems a little short-sighted to me. Maybe the writers that complain about lag don't have the skill to adjust their driving to suit the car?

I think I converted my Dad and my younger brother when I got mine. They were trying to convince me to get a HSV or something, when I turned up with the 33 I got the funny looks and "it's nice, but it's not a real car". They lined up against me in a trimatic 253 HX Premier (which sounded nice but its ¼ mile times could have been measured with a sundial), I gave it a bit, just enough for the turbo to start spooling and to keep me *just* in front of them, short shifting nice and early. I waited until we got to about 60, then pinned it in second and left them standing. Hahahaha the look on their faces was priceless These days their opinions on cars are much more varied, with my brother now building a VH SLE running a 1uzfe and a couple of turbos. Should be a weapon once it's done. But yeah, I had some bloke at the BWCP lean out of a passenger window and say "if it had another four cylinders you might be worthy of a race". I replied "it's a six, f*ckwit", and he just said "oh well, it's still a heap of shit". To that gem I replied "not everyone can afford a f*cked up, rusty old piece of crap like yours". They didn't like that, so they did a burnout to prove their manhood, oblivious to the marked police car two cars behind them. Oh how we laughed.

Not sure if you're aware, but S2 is the same, and GTS25t and GTR braces are intercheable (ie the same). The rear strut brace in my 93 R33 was pulled out of a series 2 R33 GTR. Might help you in your search

An engine needs three things to run - air, fuel and spark. You've ruled out spark, and we can safely assume it's getting air unless you have a sock or something jammed into the intake runners So I'd assume it's a fuel issue. Check that the injector is firing, perhaps swap #1 with one of the others and see if the problem follows the injector, or whether it's in the wiring or ECU (unlikely) somewhere. If it were a cam timing problem I expect the problem would be consistent across all six cylinders, or at least move between them erratically. The same goes for CAS, TPS and just about any of the other sensors.

FOR SALE: T3 high flow (unused)
Revhead replied to SLIPPERY's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'll guess too and say that it's off a VL Turbo. I have a thread posting up step-by-step what you have to do to get a VLT turbo onto an R33. So yes, it'll work on an R33. Seeing as RB20 and RB25 turbos are interchangeable (ie the can be swapped with little or no modification required), the instructions should also apply to the R32. I cbf looking it up, but it's something like "How to: bolt a VLT turbo onto an RB25". -
Optus cable is the poo. Apart from 15 minutes of scheduled downtime about a year ago, I don't think I've ever had a problem with it that wasn't self-inflicted. Not much good to me though when I'm using someone else's connection Oh, on a more club-related note, cards have been printed and will be mailed out with stickers on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Thanks for everyone's patience, and apologies for the delay

Yep have tried DOS/command line FTP, IE6 both with the un/pw in the address and specifying them in the dialog, tried CuteFTP, and tried the DreamweaverMX built-in put stuff and configurations too. There must just be something wrong with it at the ISP end, it suddenly stopped working about 3:30 this arvo (I was doing web development at the time) and have tried it on two different PCs (albeit on the same DSL (ugh) connection). I might just leave it until tomorrow and see if it works then cos I cbf doing anything with it tonight
-
OK they're sitting on my hdd and they'll be up as soon as I can get friggen FTP to work properly... probably tomorrow at this rate...

I'll put these up on the web page when I get the motivation I was actually in the process of drafting up some basic rules myself, but I'll use these instead as they cover mine plus a few extras I hadn't thought of. Thanks to the WA guys for allowing us to use theirs, and to Adrian and the Rice Man for providing the lists

We'd need a bit more notice to make an "official" SAU presence. That said, I'll be at a wedding anyway
