  1. Well don't boot it off the line/mid corner? Just drive accordingly and no matter what layout you choose it should give you a smile.
  2. Yeah someone has used it for their logon name, but not their display name, it won't show up in the search that way unfortunately. Ah well Changed to Jay11 instead!
  3. There's also an argument that cable cars don't travel at 900km/h several km in the air, and if something goes wrong (assuming it's not broken cables!) you just stop where you are rather than plummetting to the earth But yeah it is a little disconcerting when you first get on, just relax and enjoy it!
  4. Already taken, sorry Hahaha awesome Changed again!
  5. It really depends on what you want to see. My wife and I went up there a couple of years ago, and with a bit of help from Joe (Jdfnq) and Ben (who isn't on here any more I think) we had a brilliant time. +1 to getting a hire car/bike, there's a lot of things to see but most of it is a fair hike. Not hours on end or anything, but enough to be a pain in the butt on a bus, and a pain in the wallet in a taxi. And you'd miss out on some great drives. We did the drive from Cairns to Kuranda, then Mareeba, just short of Innisfail, then back to Cairns, making a few stops along the way. There's some stunning scenery and quite a few waterfalls, it's worth pulling over and walking the short distance to them. Earn some brownie points with the missus and take her to the Butterfly Sanctuary at Kuranda, the butterflies are attracted to bright clothing so if you're wearing reds and the like they'll land on you. There's the Skyrail which, as mentioned, is excellent, it gets a little bumpy if the wind picks up but if you can handle being on a plane this is no problem. At the base of the Skyrail there's a cable ski park, we didn't end up going but if it's anything like the ones I've been to elsewhere it'd be heaps of fun. And most definitely, if you get a chance, drive up the coast road from Cairns to Port Douglas. Fantastic roads (except for the roadworks we encountered), fantastic scenery, and IIRC there was a pretty awesome lunch waiting for us in PD. For dinners we mostly ate at the hotel, but we ate at a really nice Japanese restaurant just up the road from the casino one night. Damn you, you're making we want to go back!!

Your best bet is to check the events section
  8. Looks like you've found the other sections - nice work Just keep an eye on your threads and someone will no doubt respond to them in due course.
  9. Ooh unlucky!
  10. Actually I might have seen that one before! Well, maybe...There's probably more than one fitting that description but a white 33 with blingy wheels and a big sticker tried to get me to race him on the Bruce Hwy one day a year or so ago, he didn't get the picture even after me indicating no followed by a good 5km of ignoring him, then tore off at a big rate of knots when I took my exit. A-class flogger.
  11. I think I love you Donna! I can't stand Autosalon either, too much bling, not enough 'real' engineering. When shitboxes with scissor doors, $50k worth of airbrushing, 11ty dB stereos and stock mechanicals can win King of Autosalon, it's a good indication of the demographic they're trying to appeal to.
  12. Yeah tyres are pretty important, they're the only bit of your car that touches the ground (well, unless you have other problems ). Keep in mind that rain is forecast all week too. Regardless of the possibility of a defect notice, if it's at all possible please don't drive your car until you get new tyres
  13. White 31 coupe on Boundary Rd in West End at lunch time today OLS033, tidy looking back 33 (in case you hadn't already guessed) about half an hour ago on Anzac Ave Nah 17/18", it may have had a sticker on the back window if I'm not getting it mixed up with a Skyline I saw the other day but it was only a dinner plate-sized one in one corner of the back window. The skirts were maybe 40mm off the ground Edit: can't find the exact ones but they looked similar to these: http://www.carid.com/images/wheels/zen/type-r-chrome.jpg
  14. White 33 S2, chromies, GTR wing and a set of side skirts (400R-ish??) that were nearly scraping the ground on the Bruce Hwy this morning, damn it was low!
  15. One thing that you might not have considered though is that it's easy to get two cars with similar outright power figures that drive completely differently - that'll affect how quick they feel, and how quick they are in real-world driving. For the vast majority of us, a fat torque curve in the midrange is worth a lot more than a few extra hp in the top end. Edit: here you go, as an example this one is apparently 272rwkw:
  16. If you're keeping the sunroof, does that mean you're having the existing roof turret repaired rather than sticking a new one in it? Let me know if you want a hand with it too, I'm keen to tinker with another Skyline
  17. That Byron run was also at 3am so we had the roads virtually to ourselves. In the daytime, traffic can make it difficult to keep a larger group together, and large, relatively slow-moving groups can annoy other drivers. I like the options Chris posted up though, particularly the one to the west. A cruise that doesn't just go up or down the coast would be fantastic, although some people moan about going inland for some reason, or if it doesn't start and finish at their front door (we bought our cars to enjoy them, did we not?). There are some fantastic roads out to the west of us, and some lovely scenery, and there are some bonuses to going to a less populated area too. Parking, less traffic to break the group up etc. There are also a few dams out that way which make nice places to stop off. As another example, Karen and I went for a drive a little while ago, home (northside) - Brisbane - Ipswich - T'ba - Dalby - Bunya Mtns - Kingaroy - Nanango - Blackbutt - Kilcoy - Caboolture - home, it'd need some tweaking for a large group and would probably need to be shortened but it's a nice run. In any case... I'm keen to see what the exec come up with!
  18. Oooh so it's all doable, nice mate! About farken time
  19. Followed STK32 along Anzac Ave for a bit last night. I was trying to have a listen but thanks to the 4WD beside me I could barely hear a thing
  20. Mt Cotton use to be a good option but last time I checked, which admittedly was a while ago, the moaning idiots who moved in nearby then whinged about the noise had succeeded in making it all but unusable. I hope that things have improved, but if not, I wouldn't consider it an option unfortunately. I don't know what it's like but the Holden driver training centre is southside isn't it? Also, I think there might be training days held at Willowbank. I'm just going off memory but a quick Google search should give you more info on both. Yes I was too lazy to do it myself lol. Failing that, as Andy says your next best bet is Gympie. It's a bit of a hike but we have guys who come up from the gold coast for these days, it really is worth the trip.
