  1. I've chopped a few people on the bike, but this would have to be the most memorable! I was cruising home from a mate's place (which luckily passes through a private road) and this guy in a yellow Ferrari 355 ragtop slowly pulled up beside me, then gave it a couple of stabs in top gear. I left it in 6th and gave it a bit and backed off, he drops it back and pins it. This leaves me with about 2 or 3 carlengths to regain by the time I get back to 2nd, this just meant I had time to lift the front wheel off the deck to kinda rub it in I slowly backed off, changed into 3rd, and he started catching me around 200. I looked across, then waved and nailed 3rd, blew past him again. I was laughing pretty hard but his (hot) missus was pissing herself and hitting him on the shoulder And how much was that Ferrari?? In the car, I haven't really run that many people, but I've handed out large cans of whoop arse to SS's, Monaros, and *just* managed to beat a 300kW (or 305 or whatever) Commy. Should be handing out whippings to it once the 'cooler plumbing is done and the PFC is tuned properly
  2. Nitrous Busa probably wouldn't be much quicker to 100 without a longer swingarm... most stock big-bore bikes are on the verge of, or already doing, a huge wheelie in first gear at full throttle, putting any more power down is nigh-on impossible. Rolling start though it'd fly. Watch Ghost Rider with the turbo Busa - it has 499hp (compared to 240 in this video from memory) and can power wheelie at 300+ km/h, the roll-on (and wheelie) ability of that thing is phenomenal! If you have P2P like Kazaa or eMule, look up 'turbo hayabusa' and see what you come up with
  3. *giggle* No worries
  4. Thankyou for your in-depth analysis Nizman Its purpose is more to illustrate the differences between the vehicles in the video than to be an Oscar winning masterpiece...
  5. You're pretty buggered if you crash a car at 300 too... you just don't have as much fun getting there
  6. Damn - ah well, couldn't find it. But yes, it is pretty cool, and that Viper does sound pretty horn
  7. http://www.chatstat.com/VIPER2.wmv Did a search, couldn't find anything posted previously. 900hp supercharged Viper with methanol injection vs a couple of Hayabusas and a Kwaka ZX12. Viper *just* beats the dead stock Busa, dead level with one that is stock minus mufflers, and gets creamed by everything else Pretty large file (and does get a bit repetitive) but worth the download Bikes rock!!
  8. Yeah Gary lives on the far western side of Brisbane, so he's only about 20 mins from my house. I have a bike too, so being without the car just means I get a bit of two-wheeled fun happening
  9. Yeah, I was riding shotgun in the beemer due to the 33 copping a hit up the bum (queue intro for slip...) and conditions not making it particularly comfortable on the bike. Finishing last week, I'd been working in Warwick for a couple of months. A bit of a drive but it's close to Morgan Park...
  10. It takes less than half an hour to get to Ipswich from most suburbs of Brisbane...
  11. As promised, here's the fuse panel cover under the dash, translated. And yes, having a decent multimeter rocks
  12. Proof that Skyline drivers can't park for SHIT We managed to resist the temptation to hand out a can of whoop-ass to the 34... teh stocko 320i can nevar be beaten It was good to see so many cars turn up, especially in light of the crappy weather. Thanks to everyone who made the effort!
  13. Dude - have you checked the BRAKE light fuse (NOT the tail/park fuse)? Always check the simple stuff first
  14. Cosmos Mechanical in Ipswich do all the work on my R33. (07) 3281 6575. Mention SAU
  15. Unless they've been changed recently, it's likely he has some bearing noise in the idler/tensioner bearings.
  16. Sad to hear you have to sell it - I see it drive past my place a fair bit and it is IMMACULATE. Good luck with the sale! Marc
  17. The EBC should be able to hold a dead accurate 12psi, because, as you say, the wastegate flows enough to hold as low as 10psi at redline. Any normal boost controller can increase boost above what the wastegate actuator is set to, you just can't run less boost than that. I'd still be getting the original problem fixed though, the last thing you need is for whatever the problem is to suddenly get worse while you're out in the car.

Hey Mes, how's things? If my car gets laid any more I think I'm going to start getting jealous Ditto your last comment. Some people just cannot admit when they've made a mistake, and force people to want to kill them in the process

Hehe my car gets banged more often than I do...

Hehe nah man, not this time I was probably about due for another acco, it'd been a couple of years, and noone seems to pay attention to their driving in Ipswich. Farkin spewing though, that's the second time the 33 has been hit up the bum in the 4 years I've had it, both times I was completely stopped, both times the driver wasn't looking out the windscreen, neither time has been my fault, both times I've been unable to drive my car in the rain for fear of the boot not sealing, and both times I've had to suffer the inconvenience and frustration of being without my car. Mes was pretty cool about it though, at least he didn't go accusing me of being at fault when it's blatantly obvious I wasn't, unlike this latest fudgepoker did originally...

Hehe tell me about it, what a debacle... Toowoomba was "fun" when all that rolled through I have to agree, it's nice to visit out west, but I couldn't see myself living out there for any extended period. Mind you I lived in Toowoomba during the week for two years, which I actually enjoyed, though I headed back home for the weekends. And that meant that I could go back up the range on the bike, woohoo

Jimbo bought the S6, but yeah it used to be his mum's (!). It's copped a new coat of paint since then, looks much tidier now. He sold the Leone to a guy on PF, who I hear is treating it nicely and has run a mid 14 after sorting the Microtech. I wasn't on a project, though I did do a fair bit of work with the SOE/FPM guys, I just kept getting moved around. After leaving PA, I was in Northern Downs for a couple of months, Toowoomba for about 18 months, Roma for 2 months, back in Toowoomba for 6 months, then out to Southern Downs for a few months with the occasional trip out to Charleville... argh. I was never home... I got sick of it, and am now working for myself full-time I did get to see a fair bit of the Qld outback though, lol

Holy shit man, a small world indeed I used to work at PA with Chris McV too, tell him I said hello I haven't actually seen Craig in a while, I've been meaning to catch up with him. Should get some more pics of the car too. But yeah, 12.6 non-turbo isn't too shabby! Jimbo's sold the MX6 and now drives around in a S6 RX7, which is a bit of an upgrade! Still not too sure how long exactly until it's fixed. Yes, his insurance company will be paying for the whole thing, but of course that means I have to take my car to them for assessment, then they quibble the fact that it had a slight scratch here or there etc but I'm hoping to have it back in one piece by next week. Actually, if it had to happen at all, this couldn't have been timed much better. I've just finished working at Warwick (and Toowoomba... and Goondiwindi... etc) so I don't *need* the car as much, and I bought a PowerFC a few weeks ago, so the panel shop will only be getting 2000rpm to play with, hehe. Still pissed off with it all though.
  24. The beaver panel has been pushed in about an inch or so and twisted upwards, the rear bar is rooted, and the taillights have been pulled out of place by the distortion at the boot latch. Sounds worse than it is though! Pics at http://members.optushome.com.au/turbo202/M...TS25t/Pics.html, I've posted up another thread too which I'm too lazy to link...
  25. To check it, unbolt the actuator from its mounts and see if you can pull the gate further closed. If it won't go any further, pull the dump pipe off (yes, pain in the butt) and make sure the gate actually seals properly, and that nothing stops its movement. If that does help, you can either bend or shorten the actuator bar, modify the bracket on the actuator to mount it slightly further from the rear of the turbo, or look at some other method of making the gate shut properly at standstill.
