Zoix - his name's Chris Rogers, he posts on here from time to time and is a regular on Performance Forums. He runs a mobile business called "Sound Off Mobile Installations", and he's based at Wavell Heights. He's done plenty of work on my R33 and a mate's R32, has no doubt done plenty of other guys' cars that I don't know, and used to work at Strathfield before branching out on his own, so yes, he's done BUCKETLOADS of Skylines, along with Porkas and other exotica He's on 0407 102 839 - tell him I (Marc) sent you and he'll look after you. Dunno what his schedule's like, call him and see if he can squeeze you in. I've gotta speak to him sometime over the weekend anyway to help organise his wedding, I'll mention it to him then. chaos - shit I hadn't realised it was tomorrow either. Ah well, should still be there PM me your mobile number or and/or address and I'll contact you tomorrow. Note though - I unfortunately have things to do in the afternoon, so I'll be going as far as Somerset and then heading back, ie won't be doing the Kilcoy/Samford etc leg.

choas, got your pm - I'll let you know later tonight (in a couple of hours, when my mate arrives), but it's looking good at this stage, woohoo Zoix, not having much luck eh? I know a really good mobile auto electrician on the Northside if you're interested.

Leather Gearstick & Handbrake Boots

You champion -
Thanks SK! Glad that's cleared up... I'd always wondered about running a fuel pump into zero pressure, looks like it doesn't cause any probs (actually a good thing). Sweet, I stand corrected

Me too... I wanted mine in hot pink, but looks like I'll have to settle for black. Bugger -
Haha ya lazy bugger

Yep forgot to mention the half-voltage deal at idle - they run 6V to keep them quiet. I like the idea of fangin it extending the life of at least one part of the car Dunno whether that's true though, the pump is actually designed to run against pressure, running it outside of specification couldn't do it any good surely? Without the pressure, maybe it can overspeed or the bearings or whatever ride in a different/wrong location? Anyone know for sure?

Yeah I know you said 32, but the only step-by-step I have is for my R33, so that's what you get I thought the RB20 exhaust manifold was the same as the RB25 one? The turbo and space to the strut tower etc is no doubt different but similar rules should apply. You should be able to run 12s with the stocker if it's well tuned. 4Doorz on here has a FMIC and home-tuned PFC on his 33 and he broke into the 12s, I image with less torque but also less weight with a 32 you could do something similar. That said, a bigger turbo will make it far more easy

Fark yeah, thanks man -
Haha this is like a bit near the start of Hot Shots "Not... Elaine Frothembock? From Eagle River?"... Everyone - "Eagle River?!" But back on topic, yeah, I much prefer something like a Skyline over a stocko white VT Commy or Statesman as a wedding car. It's a bit different to the norm, and screams to passers by "I'm an enthusiast". You could even recruit new members... which I'm sure would go down really well with the new wife on your wedding day, lol

Good luck in your search, but if it were me I'd just make one up. Get a 2" bend (or whatever side the pipework is) and some steel plate, weld it up and it's all done. Use stainless or powdercoat to avoid flakes of rust in your intake.

Try here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=30556 I bolted up a T3 to my 33's stock exhaust manifold etc. It's not quite a bolt-in affair, but it's about as close as you're going to get without buying a 'kit' for your car.

Ticking Sound coming from front wheel..
Revhead replied to EnricoPalazzo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Check less obvious places like the back of the spokes on your wheel or on the inside/outside edge of the disc rotor. I've seen a case where a tar-coated rock, stuck to the inside of a wheel, would just touch on the brake caliper once every trip around -
As long as there's still fuel coming back down the return line you won't blow up your fuel pump. Well it could die of other causes, but you know what I mean In an EFI system, the fuel pump just, well, pumps, and the fuel pressure regulator allows fuel to exit the rail to keep fuel in the rail at a given pressure. If your pump can't supply enough fuel at high loads to keep the rail at the right pressure, you need a bigger one. I don't think it does the pump any good in this situation either, they're designed to pump into pressure, maybe someone with a bit more mechanical knowledge can verify?

Sweet - thanks guys. Will see how the bank balance holds out and let you know later this week. Ben, if I'm able to make it then you're welcome to a seat. Can't guarantee it'll be the most awe inspiring ride of your life but it'll get you there and back. What suburb are you in?
-
Nah you don't use the outside bracket... you bolt the Nissan factory stereo mounts to the sides of your new head unit and then it just bolts in the same way the stocker came out.
-
I can't open the link stutto - can you post up some info?
-
They do, but you have to tick the 'Show your signature' box

Nah you only get ridiculed if you act like a twat... asking sensible questions will usually provoke a sensible answer. Note I said "usually"

Just read back over that and tiredness + a few drinks mean that it might come across as aggressive. It's not meant to be, just trying to reinforce the importance of making sure the oil/water supply systems are not skimped on Don't want you guys thinking I'm being nasty, lol
-
I would still most definitely be erring on the side of caution - a burst line spraying oil onto the turbo and exhaust manifolding can't be good My main concern would be using fuel line - yes, fuel line sits in some pretty warm spots too, but fuel tends to be far cooler than engine oil, so the design tolerances may not have accounted for high temperatures *inside* the line. I may be completely wrong and fuel line could well be perfectly safe in this application, but unless you're 100% certain, IMHO it's not worth the risk for a combined total of maybe $30 worth of replacement hose.
-
Yeah, what Stagea man said I had to do something very similar when fitting my new turbo, and the heat of the turbo (and don't forget that two of those lines carry engine oil...) meant that I went for lines meant for an oil cooler. It's reinforced and is designed for exactly what it'll be used for!

I'm pleased to announce that the in-the-wings SAU Qld club has a new sponsor: Cosmos Mechanical Shed 4/47a Tiger St West Ipswich QLD 4305 Ph: (07) 3281 6575 The workshop is located in the same facility as Repco - once you're heading up Tiger St, you'd have to be pretty blind to miss it The owner, Bruce Roberts, has over 25 years' experience in both the automotive industry and in sheetmetal/fabrication work. As such, Cosmos is able to offer everything from routine servicing through to major structural changes, like custom crossmembers, chassis work etc, and all the stuff in between, including engine rebuilds, gearbox changes and diffs. Bruce currently works on a steady flow of buses from a client who purchases them overseas, then gives them to Cosmos to perform the chassis/braking system modifications required for engineer approval. He is yet to have his work declined - in fact, the engineer was so impressed that he has referred some of his clients through to Bruce. Bruce has done plenty of work on my own R33, including the recent fitment of my new turbo He'll also be getting the job of making up my intercooler piping, cold air box, catch can etc. Gary1 from these forums has sent his BMW and Camryghini in for work, as well as his previous 4WD, and from all accounts is more than happy with the work. They currently have two project cars on the premises - a 13B turbo Mazda RX4 which is intended to compete in Targa, and a VH Commodore SL/E, which will be getting a force-fed Toyota 1UZFE quad cam V8. The deal As an incentive for club members, Cosmos will offer discounted labour rates. I'm yet to find anyone who can match even their full-price rate, so rest assured that you WILL be looked after. You'll need to show proof of club membership, so until the club has been made official, you'll need to either turn up in your Skyline, or just mention this post on Skylines Australia. Once the club has been registered, your Membership card will take over

Did you pull power from the wires going to the clock? If so, then check where you spliced it in (and consequently removed it). I'm guessing one of two things: 1) You've knocked it and have managed to cut power to the clock, or 2) You've left a non-insulated bit of wire floating around and it's shorted on something and blown a fuse. Check the fuse first, failing that, pull out the test light/multimeter...
