  1. Yeah sucks arse when that happens. All you can do is back off the throttle and keep slowing down and hope they go around. If not... well it's a shame you didn't still have that chicken burger handy Seriously though, tailgaters are one of my pet hates too. And +1 to road trips kicking arse, as long as you're not constantly doing 1000+ km days anyway. That gets old fairly quick, especially now that 101km/h = burning nuns/dead babies/instant death. I miss the days when you could cruise along in the middle of nowhere at well above the posted limit and as long as you were being sensible about it the police wouldn't bat an eyelid
  2. Maybe I misinterpreted "Skyline GT R33" In that case, ignore that bit lol.
  3. Done! Sorted On a side note, looks like you already have an account named "Smooth Garage" (space instead of underscore) and judging by the email address it's probably yours too. Is that the case? If so you're only meant to have one, I can give you a hand merging them if you like. What was your name and avatar? Done! That's going to throw me every time I read one of your posts lol.
  4. OP: the guys have been pretty harsh, but they raise some valid points. IMHO you should read between the lines and heed their advice. Mechanic #6 definitely sounds dodgy, as mentioned you should only get a roadworthy cert if your car is indeed roadworthy. If he hands over RWCs that easily (aka a 'phoneworthy') then you have to wonder what kind of other questionable business practices they're involved in. Find a reputable mechanic and stick with them. The good ones are generally not the cheapest, and will often be the ones who will tell you what you don't want to hear rather than just saying "she'll be right", taking your money and sending you on your way. The first five you went to may have come up with different lists of problems but at least they didn't let an obviously illegal car pass a roadworthy. If you're on the Gold Coast then you have a few options, Gavin Wood for example has a pretty good reputation. If you're willing to go a bit further north, Elite Racing Developments at Yatala also has an extremely good reputation, and for any work I can't do myself is my mechanic of choice, despite them being an hour away. If you want a turbo then check the SAU traders out, any one of them that deal with turbos should be able to give you plenty of advice, again ERD are a good place to start. As has also been mentioned though, you'll struggle to do much with $700, unless you can find a second-hand turbo, or maybe a Chinese knockoff of unknown quality (hint: don't). As for your queries about car sound, check the Car Audio & Security section here on SAU. There are plenty of knowledgeable people around so as long as you're clear about what you are trying to achieve you should be laughing. On a side note, the pic you posted isn't a GTR...
  5. Yeah unfortunately if we can't verify that you are the owner of the account there's not really much we can do... sorry mate Done!
  6. Looks like it wasn't loading the style sheet/CSS, could have been a flaky connection at your end or server/connection load at SAU's end. In many cases hitting refresh/reload will fix it
  7. Do you mean that you have an existing account named 'sparrow', and would like to be able to use it again, but to have the trader ratings from your current account copied over to your 'sparrow' account?I don't think trader ratings can be copied, but if you want to use your old account and don't know the password, you'll need access to the email address registered against the account. Do you still have it? Nice - and yes you can
  8. Haha, Lib GT here too, sedan for me though
  9. Bloody Subaru drivers! Oh wait...

    Scissor Doors

What Col said. Assuming it's to remain a street car, check for legality before you spend a cent. If you absolutely must go ahead with it - and I really hope you don't, personal preference I guess but I hate scissor doors - then places that handle Autosalon-style cars would likely be your best bet. Check any Hot4's/Autosalon/Fast4's/whatever mag for feature cars with the body mods you're looking for - there will usually be contact details for the shops that have done the work alongside the story. Doing it properly won't be cheap though.
  11. Saw a V36 and a silver S1.5 R33 on the Gateway Motorway this afternoon when heading home - waved to both but it was dark so I doubt either would have seen On a side note, V36 tail lights look hawt!
  12. All done! Thanks for your patience guys, and cheers for helping out Duncan
  13. Yes, yes you may! And thanks for the positive comment mate, Christian has put a lot of effort (and money!) into improving our little corner of the internet and I'm sure he'll be glad to hear it's being noticed. I believe donations are currently on hold, there should be a new system in place with the upgrade to IPB 3
  14. Was wondering the same thing... those back guards do look flared in the pic
  15. Dan @ Elite Racing www.erd.com.au
  16. You have my number mate, give me a call and I'll sort you out
  17. Saw a trayback ute with an SAU sticker on the back window on Kelvin Grove Rd the other day, 5pm-ish
  18. Another vote for Chris here... his work is second to none and he won't rip you off. Just don't ask him if he can do anything tricky because you'll end up going back for all kinds of cool shit Edit: ooh 6,666 posts
  19. Done guys, both got your second choices though sorry!
  20. All done guys The "can't stay logged in" thing is probably coincidental timing, I've heard a few people complain about forum problems lately.
