You lot are just spoiled with the density of awesome food joints, I couldn't believe it when I was in Melbourne. I saw probably a dozen gourmet pizza shops on a short walk along the main drag in Kew, lol
Anyway I don't go for chicken burgers much so I can't really tell you where is and isn't good for them, but there are some decent food places around without having to go to a "proper" restaurant.
Thai Ginger at North Lakes rocks the shit, and is well worth the drive even if you're not in the area. In my opinion it beats the Royal Thai Orchid so hard that Chris Brown would be proud.
At Chermside shopping centre there's a little Indian place in one of the food courts, the quality of the food is surprisingly good and they only seem to use chicken breast in their chicken dishes. If I go there I normally grab the Tikka Masala.
Nandos is always a winner, there's quite a few around and there seems to be new ones popping up every now and then.
There's a handful of good places in and around Park Rd in Milton, go for a look and poke your head into a few.
Sizzling Mongolian at St Lucia/Toowong is very nice, quite a different experience too.
There are some nice places in West End too, but also some not-so-great ones that try to hitch a ride with the eyeroll-inducing self-proclaimed "chic" status of the suburb. There are still some gems though, I can't remember its name but there's a little sandwich bar about half-way along Montague Rd that makes really good ham and salad sandwiches. There's a cafe not too far from there which I avoid, it's exxy and the food quality varies quite a lot. A bit further up the road there's another sandwich bar (done up to look like a cottage I think) that does decent sandwiches too.
If you want a pub meal there's plenty around, the Morrison at the Gabba isn't bad, the Broadway's $10 cook-your-own steaks are good and their burgers are top notch. The Irish pub at Kallangur puts on a good feed, the Brekky Creek Hotel, the Norman... there are plenty around.
