  1. Happy birthday Joe!!!
  2. Is this with the clutch out, ie you're still in gear and doing 20 in second gear? It could just be that the engine is a little bit rough at very low rpm, it might not actually be anything to do with your clutch
  3. I live northside, North Lakes to be precise. I used to have a 33 with a few mods but our current 33 is pretty much rock stock, just exhaust and some window tint really, lol. It's a red (not wine red) S2 R33 with SMR33 on the plates, wave if you see us
  4. Heh knew everyone would think that... but if someone has pulled the plug, I don't know about it lol
  5. the server the club forums are on has gone down
  6. Nice shots mate!! Making me want to go over there again lol
  7. But they do a mean steak!!
  8. 1989 MX83 Toyota Cressida GLX White exterior, plush blue velour interior 3.0L six (7M-GE) A340 electronic auto Climate control aircon - regassed ~2 years ago, farken FREEZING Tinted windows - good quality T35 metallic tint, professionally done ~3 years ago 6 CD Pioneer stacker ~313,000km Comfy as! Selling UNREGISTERED (ran out of rego a couple of weeks ago) Car is located on the north side of Brisbane $1500 ono - make me an offer! Reason for sale We have two other cars and a bike so I really don't need the Cressida any more, and it's killing the grass I bought the car a few years ago as a comfy commuter and it did the job beautifully, but we've moved onto a newer daily driver and could use the proceeds from selling the Cressida around the house. Other info It's like riding a pillow - it really is the most comfortable car I've ever driven. It won't set the world alight but that's really missing the point - that said, they do suit JZ engine swaps extremely well, making it the ideal sleeper! It isn't perfect though, the paint on the roof is a little cracked and it has a miss at idle. I haven't done any checking so it could be as simple as a fouled plug or a dead plug lead. I also suspect it has a small intake leak, which I haven't looked for. The auto works better when it's warm - when it's cold it sometimes sticks in 1st gear. The tacho doesn't always work (just a loose connection as sometimes a tap on the dash will fix it) and a previous owner broke the clips holding the section of the dash below the steering wheel on, it's currently held on with tape as I've been too lazy to find a new one. The steering wheel needs replacement as the foam has separated from the wheel. To be honest it probably doesn't need much done to it, but I don't have the time or motivation to do it. As a result, you get a very cheap car that needs a little work. All it should need for roadworthy is a steering wheel, fix the miss, and secure the dash panel below the steering wheel. As far as I know, everything else is legal. It was registered up until the 11th of July and I haven't renewed it as I don't drive it much any more. Price is $1500 ono as-is, unregistered. You'll need to bring a car trailer, tow truck, or trade plate to get it home legally. If you're quick I may be able to assist with cheap towing. Contact I can be contacted by PM or you can just post in here, or you can PM me for my phone number. Pics to follow Edit: SOLD!!!
  9. Haha you'd be surprised how often I hear that
  10. Yeah... she's still pretty shaken but she's doing alright Bike deal is still in place! (She saw a guy on a bike involved in a pretty serious accident last night for those that are wondering)
  11. You westisiders are nothing but trouble
  12. Can't actually do yours atm mate, someone already has the name Norman All done! Awaiting virtual hugs
  13. Yeah I'd be guessing clutch slip too. The first thing I'd be doing is taking it to a mechanic to get it checked over - they might pick up other things that need attention too, and could save you money further down the track. There are plenty around but as with anything, there are good ones and not-so-good ones. Are you in Brisbane, or elsewhere in Qld?
  14. Obviously a legend Nah seriously it's great having a missus who is into cars and understands why you are too. My other half wants me to turn her 33 into a track weapon and has suggested I buy myself a new bike... she's a keeper
  15. Holy crap, that's awful. I'll keep my eyes peeled in case anything shows up over the border...
  16. Haha yeah they'd be insane with that much torque. The DSG is a good thing too, I drove an Audi with the same box a month or so ago and loved it. Thanks for the info... might have to go and have another sit/drive!
  17. Nice Just curious, did you consider a Golf GTI? If so, why did the Jetta win? I'm asking because I'm looking for a new daily and both of these are on the not-so-short list, the Golf wins for me so far (personal preference) but if I've missed something with the Jetta it might be worth another look!
  18. +1Her reaction to this will be very telling...
  19. As I understand it, a police defect notice isn't telling you that your car IS defective, it's telling you that the officer SUSPECTS it's defective. Then it's up to you (and your wallet) to prove otherwise. Not sure if obvious things like bald tyres work the same way though. In theory it's a great idea for the police to have to send you to someone more qualified to make a definitive call, but in practice it just means inconvenience and cost to a lot of people, and as far as I'm aware there's no protections for overuse/misuse unless you can prove harassment. Innocent until proven guilty looks nice as part of a mission statement, but society hasn't really worked that way for a very long time. Anyway, IMHO the inspection should be free and costs involved in proving your innocence should be reimbursed, IF you prove your innocence. If the vehicle is indeed judged to be defective, the costs are your problem. Sif it'll ever work that way though

  21. Lunatikk on here (shoot him a PM), definitely worth having a chat to him about it. He sells 2nd-hand 80% or so treaded tyres, so prices are VERY good in comparison to new tyres.
