  1. Nah colours should work, just make sure they're inside the URL tags, otherwise I suspect the URL tags will override whatever colour you've chosen with the default for the skin you use. So make it like this: (url="http://dfjssdfjfhsd.com/something.html")(color=whatever)Some text here(/color)(/url) Obviously change the brackets to square ones
  2. Last time I checked, you're still exactly the same amount older than me as you were last time I gave you shit about being old YupClosing in on 30, oh no
  3. Aww thanks guys!! So much love in the room
  4. If you're running gaps that small I'd say you need better coils
  5. Just adding my 2c here, even though you probably already have the answers you're after As above, I'd have probably expected a phone call mentioning that the front bar will need to be modified to fit, and is that ok? If you get the go-ahead (and you most likely would) then go for gold! I won't comment on the customer's behaviour as I wasn't there but I'd say he was justified in expecting it to be part of the installation job, but if it were me I would have also been pleased that you didn't cut up my front bar without asking me first So perhaps an overreaction on his part and a small but honest mistake on yours. On a side note, it's pleasing to hear some ethics given the number of bad experiences people seem to have with workshops around the place. Top marks for erring on the side of caution, and also for asking for opinions on whether you had done the right thing.
  6. I'd try shooting him a PM, he's on the forums here.
  7. Yeah illegal characters sorry mate, won't let me change it JulzR32 it is! Done! I'm assuming you wanted the exclamation mark too, if not let me know
  8. Wow, very nice! Sounds like it wasn't all smooth sailing, but what engine swap is haha. Glad to see it nearing completion
  9. What's it done? Not shifting properly? Depending on the issue, a manual ECU might be ok for testing, unless you need to actually drive it to test the problem. I can't help you either way unfortunately but it might widen your options a little
  10. Sounds like the guy you bought them off probably ran into exactly the same issues, then onsold them so they'd be your problem. Anyway I'm not sure of the particulars but apparently for $15 you can get a name and address from a number plate. I think you might need to provide some kind of info on why you want them (damage to your car etc) but it might be worth following up.
  11. Sounds perfect for you
  12. It's easy enough to do, you'd just need to get Christian to ok it as a blanket thing for execs if you wanted to do make the change to the exec groups
  13. And that, folks, is the crux of the matter. They pretty much have everyone over a barrel, there's too much potential for lost revenue otherwise. I'd also say that the vast majority of possible loopholes or excuses have already been tested in court many times. All that said, I've wondered before what would happen in this kind of scenario. You or another car nearby are speeding and get flashed by a camera. Fair enough, someone gets booked for speeding - but you crash because the flash temporarily blinds you. That's not undue care and attention because it was THEIR camera's flash that blinded you. There's always the argument that the flash wouldn't have gone off had you not been speeding, but personally I see that a bit like someone with a baseball bat who tells you not to speak and breaks your fingers when you do, then tells you it was your fault for talking.
  14. +1 to retighten/double check. Also check that you haven't bent the wear indicators on the pads into a position where they foul on something or touch the disc too soon.
  15. baaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahhaha
  16. +1
  17. We had a cat escape and run away, and it was found 7 weeks later, 10km away. I know it's looking grim but there's a chance you'll get at least one of your pets back! There are some sick bastards out there though...
  18. Personally I like sports bikes. Currently I have a CBR929RR 'Blade but am hoping to upgrade later in the year, just to get back on something newer I've ridden a few cruisers and they were comfy and had torque off idle, but I was bored silly on them. Then again, the guys who owned the cruisers thought my bike was cramped, peaky and "ridiculously wheelie-prone" (mwuahaha) so it really comes down to what you like. Bikes are really as dangerous as you make them. They can be lethal if you're a dickhead, but if you treat them with respect (and other road users like they're trying to kill you... you'll see what I mean when you start riding ) they really are quite safe. The best bit about biking though is that, to work out what you like, you have to test ride everything Get out and try things, you might find that something out of left field really gets you going. Remember that most big-bore bikes will scare the shit out of you if you're used to 450cc dirt bikes. Pretend you're on a WR or something, then triple your speed. A GSXR-1000 for example will do over 160km/h in first gear, so if you are ham fisted with the throttle there's plenty of potential to get yourself tied in knots. Upkeep is fine, if you get a sports bike you'll need to budget for tyres every 5-10k (sticky tyres wear fast, riding in traffic will square them off in no time) and a chain every 35k or so if you oil it nice and often. Major services are around every 25k (which involves a shim adjustment on most bikes) and don't forget that changing spark plugs quite often means at the very least pulling the tank off, often you'll need to drop the engine out of the frame a little (not as bad as it sounds) so you can get to the top of the head. Beyond that it's just oil changes every 5-7.5k (not car oil, wet clutches die with friction modifiers) and air cleaners whenever it needs it. They're really quite trouble free most of the time. And yes as far as mods go you can go as silly as you want, but most people stop at exhaust (usually just a slip-on end can), air cleaner and maybe an ECU (like a Power Commander). You can tweak the suspension settings (most sports bikes have adjustable everything), swap out pads if yours don't cut it, put better tyres on if the stockers are crap, drop the gearing a tooth or two, double bubble screen and crash bungs are all fairly simple things to do too, and make an enormous difference. Beyond that, things like engine mods will get you a fair bit of power, or if that still isn't enough, there's always the turbo and/or nitrous route
  19. I feel ya on that. My old 33 was pretty boring, it was a solid, not-too-slow cruiser with reasonable balance, a lot of body roll and ok brakes. A few mods brings them to life though, suspension, brake pads, fluid flush and a few choice engine mods will give it some character It still won't wrestle the wheel from your hands if that's what you like (though FWD really isn't my thing) but they are a much more exciting car with mods! For me their appeal is in the huge potential waiting to be unlocked, rather than the "blistering" stock performance.
  20. +1 to what Col said If you're after an alarm that's recognised by your insurance company, it'll need to be installed by someone who is certified, regardless of how flash or otherwise you want it. The reason being that, as stated, an alarm is only as good as its install and, from the insurance company's perspective, they want to know that it wasn't whacked in by an amateur. Personally, I'd get Chris to requote on a more basic system if that's what you're after - I'd say he's quoted you a higher-end alarm as that's what most people are after when they buy a car as theft-targetted and comparitively easy to steal as a Skyline.
  21. You could try taking the wheel and tyre in separately and asking them to fit it, I dunno whether they'd make you sign a disclaimer or something but they might do it. I've had tyres fitted before that were going to the track on the back of a drift car, I think they just noted on the invoice that the tyres were not legal for street use or something like that. You'll still have an illegal/defectable tyre and a cracked rim though, so it's not ideal, and certainly not something I'd do myself. A better option would be to try to find someone who will loan you a rim/tyre or a pair/set (especially if the sizes are different) that's legal - that way you'll have some grip, and won't have insurance hassles should you run into someone or crash. What size do you have?

    Speed Traps

Just a quick note, I've seen a couple of new speed camera vans. The ones I saw were black. Make of that what you will...
